Times Have Changed, Yes We Are A True Church But We Also Now Realize That We Are Not The Only True Church Or The One True Church. Because How Do We Honestly Know If Someone Else Is Out There Doing The Same Exact Thing That We Are Doing. Only God Knows So Who Are We To Judge??? Any 'mainline' Church of Christ denomination, ICOC or Kip's 'new movement' teaches commitment to ONE Church ONLY, which transcends being the ONLY BIBLICALLY SAVED because members ONLY DATE & MARRY people who are members. To top it all. NO ONE MAY LEAVE once part of the group. This is exactly what the Catholics, JWS and Mormons teaches to mention other commonly known groups.

There are many positive things in icoc. It did revive my spiritual awareness. It does have failings though: it lacks social responsibility for eg. They encourage total commitment to their activities and yet they don't encourage you to have a balanced life style.

Also, what part of the world did you go to the ICC? I was at first in the San Diego, CA Church and then moved to Phoenix, AZ. Both in the United States.

From 5 yrs my experience in the church, I've not seen anything as close to the first century church as the ICC. Saying that, the ICC also has some improvements needed. The mentorship idea is flawed, as well as the idea of contribution. I do have a question for everyone. How many of you continue to follow the Bible as closely as when you were a disciple in the ICC?

My experience in 1991-1993 was that they were very clear that without them, you were going to hell. Absolutely. Others took it further, to the extent that if you commit a sin and die before confessing to the discipler... Hell.

when i was in the church they very specific in saying only they and only the members of the icoc were saved. as a matter of fact i had leadership many times tell us to stop associating with people that decided not to be babtised. I myself when i left was labled as being condemned and those once my best friends were now averting their eyes as i walked by and pretending they id not kno me for the leaders told them to behave that way.

Nobody in our church in the last 12 years that I've been here has ever said its only through our church your saved. Although they have said things about not justifying sin and following the bible. If your a true disciple you are saved. I'm from the church and I believe that there are plenty of disciples out there that don't go to our church.
