fayik, you will get based more than likely at HMS raleigh, plymouth or up in scotland but the one to be atm is plymouth bin done up with your own cabin room double bed the lot and its better tbh, but trainings the same lol and yeh im in the navy as a ME in submarines quality job love it, :P

nowadays anyone in the military can go serve anywhere no matter what your job, there is survival equipment on aircraft which are in afghanistan and iraq and there are still people needing feeding on land just as much as at sea.
so you're saying that people who join to work on the ship as a seamen specialist for example could have to go and fight on land with the regular marines and army. I thought they just stay on boats if you join the navy but not as a marine.
yeah you could go on land,you wouldnt be fighting, you'd be doing some other job. Anyone can be sent out there. true seaman specs are less likely but it can happen

you can be sent pretty much anywhere. You could be part of the 2000 strong navy contingent in afghanistan(not including marines) or you could go to iraq on land in several roles or you can get a ship going all over,although this will generally be the gulf or south atlantic. New joiners would 99% of the time join a ship

a few months ago there was in a dutch newspaper a big topic about the Russian navy, the conclusion was that it was very weak and not up to date for this time...so i would say that the Royal navy is at #1 or #2
but the Dutch navy has also very modern technology, but the government has sold some ships of our fleet -.-

as someone whos worked closely with the us navy i can safely say that it is by far not the best navy in the world! The crews are badly trained and cant do more than one job. The systems are good but arnt getting used to their full potential because again the crews are rubbish. So to sum up no the us navy is not the best

Doing the same as you. I tried my physcometric tests the other day. Would have been going in as an officer. Only problem was my English. I was 4 marks of the pass in that. So I hopefully am resitting if the Captain (RM) in my area leaves me. I so hope he does. I am then doing sixth form, and Navy!

Quality vid. I'm an ex Killick Muppet. Done 8 years, came out just over a year ago. Had some great times and some not so great times but the mates I made will be there forever.
I'm now offshore and the amount of ex servicemen out there is unreal.
For one, I do respect those who are brave enough to join up for the military. (I have had uncles and Grandfathers in the RAF during WWII who flew Lancaster bombers over Germany to drop fire bombs on them) If the UK was in any danger, I would certainly sign up without a second though. For me, life isn't worth living without my true home.

I did 7.5 years and enjoyed almost all of it, sat here now and all i can remember is the great times and good friends i made who some i still keep in contact with....and i left 4.5 years ago. It can be hard and crap at times, but what job isn't??! In the main it's a good life....so if you are thinking about it...go for it!

In the next coming months i should be going through my Royal Navy training at the plymouth base HMS Raleigh. My brother was in the navy for 6 years but had to leave due to family situations. He was an OM(1) and he did enjoy it. I'm hopefully going to take his place and do what he should of achieved. Become a Petty Officer(and higher). The video has helped me and made me feel even more comfortable and excited about joining H.M Armed Forces.

Join the Navy lol. :P My mates out by Irac. Cant actually tell you where really. But he is working along with both the marines and the army. As a MA in the RN

Bit of a family thing though, infantry regiments, alot of them went on to serve with 22nd.

Yeah your absolutely right. You don't have to be elite to be brave. I have so much respect for anyone serving at home or overseas but i would love to serve this great country amongst some of the worlds best.

Yeah the navy is a good life the majority of the time and you DO make great mates over the years (you need to be able to trust others in this job). Beware though if you're joining up, it only takes one lazy or untrustworthy person to fuck up everyone else's day. Don't let that person be you and I also hope you don't come across anyone with bad qualities in your career :-)

Quality vid. I'm an ex Killick Muppet. Done 8 years, came out just over a year ago. Had some great times and some not so great times but the mates I made will be there forever.
I'm now offshore and the amount of ex servicemen out there is unreal.

For one, I do respect those who are brave enough to join up for the military. (I have had uncles and Grandfathers in the RAF during WWII who flew Lancaster bombers over Germany to drop fire bombs on them) If the UK was in any danger, I would certainly sign up without a second though. For me, life isn't worth living without my true home.
(this is my opinion, don't take as an insult to those who oppose the military)

Ah i'm all misty eyed now!! Ha! Ha! Ha! I did 7.5 years and enjoyed almost all of it, sat here now and all i can remember is the great times and good friends i made who some i still keep in contact with....and i left 4.5 years ago. It can be hard and crap at times, but what job isn't??! In the main it's a good life....so if you are thinking about it...go for it!

In the next coming months i should be going through my Royal Navy training at the plymouth base HMS Raleigh. My brother was in the navy for 6 years but had to leave due to family situations. He was an OM(1) and he did enjoy it. I'm hopefully going to take his place and do what he should of achieved. Become a Petty Officer(and higher). The video has helped me and made me feel even more comfortable and excited about joining H.M Armed Forces.
