I think this song is about the madness of war, not about how noble it is to die for your country. Its wrong that all those young men were forced to fight for their country. They didn't want that war. I think Paschendale is pretty good song. I think it has better lyrics than Aces High.

I don't know which type of helmet he is wearing, but them being British I would presume it's an army from Allied Powers. Anyway, it's irrelevant for this song.

Very nice. The graveyard reminds me of the graveyards in Thailand near the river Kwai. The Jap's killed about 15,000 of the mostly British prisoners there completing the "rail of death". Fortunately the Americans bombed the bridge after only about 1 train got to use it. After the war Japan was forced to replace the bombed out section as a war reparation. But I digress; my hats off to all the Brits who died in foreign lands promoting the empire, may their memories live on in ours.

I'm Canadian, my great great great uncle served, and died, at the Battle of Passchendaele, this video means alot to me. Thank you, Iron Maiden, for your tribute to my relative, as well as to all those who died, and thank you to the many men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect their country.
