It's one of the major battles of russian civil war (1919-1921/22) in terms of military prestige and national legend. White Guards were then fighting the newborn Red Army of Workers and Peasants.
I saw the movie but I can't remember what battle it is exactly. By the face of the general, I think it's Semenov on the siberian front.
The communist did not intend to trigger a war. Fearing of a universal socialism revolution, 25 imperialism nations sent troops into Russia. Many of them were workers from those developed nations who suffered the same pain their Russian comrades did. As for the white army, they forced farmers in the countryside into a war which they needn't worry about. Only the communist party was the hope of the Russians, but ironically the war ruined its democratic structure.
@yenishsun are you a fucking retard? Oh wait, nevermind, you must have been SCHOOLED on communist propaganda.. Shut your mouth and never post here again, because IF i translate your post into russian, you will firsthand experience HOW wrong your views and opinions are.
The main communist slogan was "Lets turn the international war into a proletarian war"
So, the communists didnt intend to trigger a war? Shut the fuck up, eat shit, and live long to taste it.
The White Army wanted to reinstall the Tzar! The Red Army wanted to install the Bolshevik Party! The Black Army fought for the PEOPLE! Bring back Makhnov's Free Territory!
But White Generals weren't fighting exactly and exclusively for Tsar, but against October Revolution in general. There were democrats among them, too. They had variety of political views, many of Whites fought for republican Russia of Kerensky. As for him, though I think that February Revolution was something good, he wasn't right man in the right place.
@HasharinPL Yes, you are sure! In the White side also there were democrats and also in the Red side there were democrats, but in the two cases they were a minority.
You should be proud that other nations are taking your music. However, if to think about it, Poland was part of Russian Empire, so they didn't steal it as such :) - just adopted to other nations inside the Empire.
Well, Russians couldn't steal melody from "Rozszumiały się wierzby płaczące", because this song was made during WWII. That was Poles who used melody made by Russian composer, inspired by events of the First Balkan War.
What? Vasyl Agapkin composed "Farewell of Slavianka" in 1912. Later, during World War II Polish partisans reused a part of its melody in song you've mentioned.

@MrDankyDanks Is the clip from a film? What's its name, i would like to see it really. As i said i have communist views but i also admire Russian monarchy. About the song, i just said it is a little controversial. : )
I really wish people didn't think Stalinism and Communism is the same thing. Stalin gave communism such a bad reputation. Then again the czars of Russia did the same with monarchy, basically not giving a goddamn about the commoners. There will probably never be a "fair" or "ideal" way to govern a country simply because humans have different opinions and there is no way to satisfy them all, but heck we should be able to argument without gravely insulting each other!
Коммунисты жалкие предатели и евреи .... Белые вот кто истинные герои России , а не эти уголовники Котовские , Якиры и Тухачевские , Ленины Троцкие и иже с ними
The "intentions of communism" was forced conformity, a repressive one-party state, a DICTATORSHIP of the proletariat and the physical extermination of entire classes (the kulaks for example.) The intentions of communism were about as "noble" as the intentions of fascism.
i'll take monarchy over communism any day. Its not like the Bolsheviks stopped after shooting the Tsar, they shot MILLIONS of civilians for belonging to the wrong "class"- as if a person can control what class they are born into.
@TheTollundWoman i won't bother to point out the irony in what you are saying, but whatever. that's what happens in a revolution. it's life, you can't avoid it. if russia had not overthrown the tsar, it isn't likely that they would have been able to rally the people to fight the nazis years later, considering the lower classes (the vast majority) were unhappy.
Not every revolution ends in mass murder. Tunisia and Egypt just had a revolution, you don't see the revolutionaries there setting up concentration camps/gulags or suppressing all opposition. you really think mass murder is something "you can't avoid"?
yes and "the lower classes" were sooo happy under Lenin and Stalin? I don't even have the energy to respond to that, do the research yourself. Most of the so-called "kulaks" forced into exile were actually ordinary peasants who were promised land during the revolution and were then justifiably angry when the Bolsheviks broke all their promises
and if Stalin hadn't purged the best military leaders in the Soviet Union, Russia would've been much better prepared to halt the nazi invasion and could've done so with much lower loss of life.
@TheTollundWoman stalin was a douche. everyone agrees on that. lenin, on the other hand, was a true leader. either way, the white army failed because they were the minority, fighting for the tsar rather than the people.
A "true leader" who banned all political parties other than his own, founded the Cheka (Bolshevik version of the Gestapo) and had thousands of people shot? A "true leader" who let five million of his countrymen starve to death? WTF?
@TheTollundWoman well, that's your opinion. most would certainly prefer communism over monarchy, considering the needs of the many come before the few.
No, in communism the needs of the highest ranking party members always come before the needs of the general population, and the needs of the leader always come before the needs and wishes of the proletariat, hence the Bolsheviks' first move after their coup was to dissolve the workers' councils and replace them with a military junta "war communism"
in monarchy its true that the needs of the monarch and an aristocracy are often prioritized over the interests of the general public, but historically, monarchies have been far less deadly, far less brutal than communist governments. and when monarchs have been replaced by communists the results have been disastrous, russia is only one example of this...
I assume your definition of "most" excludes the 5 million people who starved to death in Lenin's first years in power, the thousands of Russian civilians executed by the Bolsheviks as class enemies, and the millions of political prisoners tortured and murdered in the GULag.
@TheTollundWoman yes it does. those 5 million people starving to death likely starved due to the war itself rather than lenin's policies. the revolution was rough, but it had to happen. the monarchy had been dragging the russian people through the dirt for centuries and they'd had enough, so lenin and trotsky inspired them to fight the backward-thinking regime.
@KingLeonidas3267 You sir are an idiot. The politburo controls the deliveries of food or grain to cities. They stop shipments and people start dying.. During the monarchy people at least could hunt, and get some food, but the first thing that the communists did when they took over was DISARM the population. Those that tried to pick up grain by the railroads were either shot immediately or deported.. They didnt want these people to LIVE, you have to understand this.
@EmcIcon Explain the food shortages that mysteriously got solved when Lenin took over. If you want to comment on the USSR, focus on the essentials. You must realize that most of what people think of as "Communism" is what was witnessed under Stalin, such as food shortages, high death tolls and inequality/class division. You may know this as THE EXACT THING THEY HAD UNDER THE MONARCHY. This improved substantially after Stalin's death, but there was no stopping the collapse of the Soviet Union.
@KingLeonidas3267 the Tsar was already ousted at this point, a prisoner of the reds. there was no effort to re-establish Nicholas II to power. what the whites fought for was to prevent Bolsheviks from taking power. other than that, there was no set Ideology. the political status of it's officers ranged form Autocratic to Democratic.
good point, there were even Social Revolutionaries and Mensheviks in the White Guards, to portray the White Movement as a solely Tsarist endeavor is absurd.
GREAT. Thank you, from Spain.

Awesome! The exact opposite of the Red Guard terrorists- these men fought with honor and died with heroism. Long live Russia FREE FROM COMMUNISM
TheTollundWoman 10 months ago 25
@TheTollundWoman they got rid of the imperials for a reason. neither system was perfect, but at least the intentions behind communism were noble.
KingLeonidas3267 5 months ago
@KingLeonidas3267
The "intentions of communism" was forced conformity, a repressive one-party state, a DICTATORSHIP of the proletariat and the physical extermination of entire classes (the kulaks for example.) The intentions of communism were about as "noble" as the intentions of fascism.
TheTollundWoman 5 months ago
@KingLeonidas3267
i'll take monarchy over communism any day. Its not like the Bolsheviks stopped after shooting the Tsar, they shot MILLIONS of civilians for belonging to the wrong "class"- as if a person can control what class they are born into.
TheTollundWoman 5 months ago
@TheTollundWoman i won't bother to point out the irony in what you are saying, but whatever. that's what happens in a revolution. it's life, you can't avoid it. if russia had not overthrown the tsar, it isn't likely that they would have been able to rally the people to fight the nazis years later, considering the lower classes (the vast majority) were unhappy.
KingLeonidas3267 5 months ago
@KingLeonidas3267
Not every revolution ends in mass murder. Tunisia and Egypt just had a revolution, you don't see the revolutionaries there setting up concentration camps/gulags or suppressing all opposition. you really think mass murder is something "you can't avoid"?
TheTollundWoman 5 months ago
@KingLeonidas3267
yes and "the lower classes" were sooo happy under Lenin and Stalin? I don't even have the energy to respond to that, do the research yourself. Most of the so-called "kulaks" forced into exile were actually ordinary peasants who were promised land during the revolution and were then justifiably angry when the Bolsheviks broke all their promises
TheTollundWoman 5 months ago
@KingLeonidas3267
and if Stalin hadn't purged the best military leaders in the Soviet Union, Russia would've been much better prepared to halt the nazi invasion and could've done so with much lower loss of life.
TheTollundWoman 5 months ago
@TheTollundWoman stalin was a douche. everyone agrees on that. lenin, on the other hand, was a true leader. either way, the white army failed because they were the minority, fighting for the tsar rather than the people.
KingLeonidas3267 5 months ago
@KingLeonidas3267
A "true leader" who banned all political parties other than his own, founded the Cheka (Bolshevik version of the Gestapo) and had thousands of people shot? A "true leader" who let five million of his countrymen starve to death? WTF?
TheTollundWoman 5 months ago
@KingLeonidas3267
The Bolsheviks' weren't fighting for "the people" they were fighting for a one-party state established by a coup d'etat. Read Solzhenitsyn.
and just because someone's a "true leader" doesn't mean they are any less horrible. Hitler was a "true leader" too, as are most dictators...
TheTollundWoman 5 months ago
@KingLeonidas3267
and again. I'd rather live under the Tsar than under the Politburo.
TheTollundWoman 5 months ago
@TheTollundWoman well, that's your opinion. most would certainly prefer communism over monarchy, considering the needs of the many come before the few.
KingLeonidas3267 5 months ago
@KingLeonidas3267
No, in communism the needs of the highest ranking party members always come before the needs of the general population, and the needs of the leader always come before the needs and wishes of the proletariat, hence the Bolsheviks' first move after their coup was to dissolve the workers' councils and replace them with a military junta "war communism"
TheTollundWoman 5 months ago
@KingLeonidas3267
in monarchy its true that the needs of the monarch and an aristocracy are often prioritized over the interests of the general public, but historically, monarchies have been far less deadly, far less brutal than communist governments. and when monarchs have been replaced by communists the results have been disastrous, russia is only one example of this...
TheTollundWoman 5 months ago
@KingLeonidas3267
I assume your definition of "most" excludes the 5 million people who starved to death in Lenin's first years in power, the thousands of Russian civilians executed by the Bolsheviks as class enemies, and the millions of political prisoners tortured and murdered in the GULag.
TheTollundWoman 5 months ago
@TheTollundWoman yes it does. those 5 million people starving to death likely starved due to the war itself rather than lenin's policies. the revolution was rough, but it had to happen. the monarchy had been dragging the russian people through the dirt for centuries and they'd had enough, so lenin and trotsky inspired them to fight the backward-thinking regime.
KingLeonidas3267 5 months ago
@KingLeonidas3267 You sir are an idiot. The politburo controls the deliveries of food or grain to cities. They stop shipments and people start dying.. During the monarchy people at least could hunt, and get some food, but the first thing that the communists did when they took over was DISARM the population. Those that tried to pick up grain by the railroads were either shot immediately or deported.. They didnt want these people to LIVE, you have to understand this.
EmcIcon 2 months ago
@EmcIcon Explain the food shortages that mysteriously got solved when Lenin took over. If you want to comment on the USSR, focus on the essentials. You must realize that most of what people think of as "Communism" is what was witnessed under Stalin, such as food shortages, high death tolls and inequality/class division. You may know this as THE EXACT THING THEY HAD UNDER THE MONARCHY. This improved substantially after Stalin's death, but there was no stopping the collapse of the Soviet Union.
KingLeonidas3267 2 months ago
@KingLeonidas3267 the Tsar was already ousted at this point, a prisoner of the reds. there was no effort to re-establish Nicholas II to power. what the whites fought for was to prevent Bolsheviks from taking power. other than that, there was no set Ideology. the political status of it's officers ranged form Autocratic to Democratic.
Soundwave3591 5 months ago
@Soundwave3591
good point, there were even Social Revolutionaries and Mensheviks in the White Guards, to portray the White Movement as a solely Tsarist endeavor is absurd.

It is historical fact that Leon Trotsky brought $20m. from a NY banker to Russia to finance the Bolshevik revolution in 1917.
The banker intended the $20m. for that very purpose.
Therefore the Russian revolution was funded by finance capitalism.
Also, the banker, like Trotsky and the bulk of pinko scum, were jews.
