Hi, just curious, would you have a video of your nova just idling? I'm considering getting the same Comp cam NX274 camshaft as you but I was curious how it sounded at idle before hand. also, what is your compression ratio on your 383? thanks much
@foxed76 I dont have the cable to load vids anymore. but it has a little lope to it nothing extreme. Its a great cam for vortec heads and the 113 lsa gives your a broad power band. it pulls hard to 6000 with my untuned 750(running a little lean) It has 9.8 to 1 compression but if i had to do it over i would have gone to 10.5 to 1 just cause i can with no detination. if you put this cam in a 350 it will lope pretty good but your goin need heads that can make power to 6500 for it to be ok in a 350
@1961pontiac hell yea. 70mph at 1500rpm is sweet and gets me 17mpg when i cruise 60mph, around town is a different story lol. it takes some acceleration away but i cant get traction with street tires anyway, 3.73s would make that worse lol
Not knocking your car...been rodding for 32 years. I still own the '67 GTO & '66 442 I bought when I was about your age! What I'm gonna suggest is that you make sure the road ahead of you is clear before 'decorating' it. Pop one of those rubber zits and it can throw you right into shit... and it ain't purty! A dude in Breckenridge TX threw his pristine '57 Chev into a telephone pole. 2 Results: 1. Destroyed car 2. Friends watching. BTW: Laying rubber IS cheaper than laying women! LOL Good Luck!
