  • wow. imagine if houston picks mj, then portland chose olajuwon. there will be war in the west!! a prime sampson and rookie jordan against olajuwon and drexler

  • The blazers won the coin toss for the pick, but lost the second. We we would've had him

  • david stern looking like a porn star here...

  • @bettydaw1970 used to call him david stern sperm

  • The NBA just doesn't have centers like this anymore.

  • I'd still take Hakeem number one over anyone in the 1984 draft.

When I look back at all the adversity Hakeem played through in his Rocket years (Sampsons injuries...coked out teammates that got suspended...subpar GM compared to many other title winning greats...feuding with management and nearly traded...MadMax quitting in 95 during the playoffs) nobody else could've done better winning wise in that scenario than Dream....None!

  • Even if they knew what Jordan would become, they STILL might have picked Olajuwon. You always pick the sure thing center over the sure thing guard, no exceptions. On a side note to Portland, the sure thing guard is better than the player who was injured for half of his college tenure

  • @oldgil17,you draft for the best talent at the time. Cardinal Rule: talent over need...The rockets and bulls followed this rule. the blazers are some morons...they did it again 23 years later.Oden over durant...Oden barely played a year of college. You never know what talent your missing out on if you play for need.

  • you can bearly see him

  • growing up in the houston area,i remember when he arrived at u of h and the squad that had. WOW! drexler, akeem, micheaux, anders, gettys, young, franklin ect...one of the most electric, high flying, exciting teams ever. when they came on,if you were from houston or a surrounding town, you would'nt miss a game.thanks to lorenzo charles (rip) their dreams were crushed in the 1983 national championship.but the dream,& clyde bought h-town 2 world championships. thanks dream for all your work.

  • I Believe This Was A Video Clip Of USA Network's 1984 NBA Draft's Report On Akeem Olajuwon, Being Selected By The Houston Rockets, At #1 On Late Tuesday Afternoon, June 19, 1984.

  • how old was he when drfated

  • 1984 NBA Draft... Best Draft Ever?

  • Dream is THE ONLY player in history to win his 1ST title, without ever having another Hall of Famer teammate!

  • @MrBeanage Yes, apart from the '79 Sonics...

  • @MrBeanage there were no hall of famers on the piston in 04

  • @xxMrRampagexx Yeah but that's not what I meant bro. It was "without ever having ANOTHER hall of fame teammate"

If there were no Pistons 04 Hall of Famers, then there's nobody to comment on.

The only other example was Dennis Johnson, winning his 1st Title on the 79 Sonics (playing with no other hall of famer on that team or any previous teams)- Though the 79 Sonics had 3/5 All Star starters that year.

But Dream and DJ are the only 2.

  • @MrBeanage

Rick Barry did it with the Warriors in '75 and Bill Walton with the Blazers in '77.

  • @xxMrRampagexx but they had a mostly evenly distributed starting lineup with four all-stars while the only other all-star on the 93-94 rockets was otis thorpe

  • @smoothbrother69 no he would chamberlain? mosses? you mean moses. and shaq? you moron they swept orlando when shaq was in perfect shape in 95. and chamberlain could not have defended the dream shake. look at what he did to robinson in the western conference finals in 95. you can't spell or use proper grammar let alone asess who is or is not the greatest center....

  • damn look at stern

  • This has to be where Eddie Murphy got the idea of Akeem in Coming to America

  • Da dream da best center ever

  • @simsdale indeed...

  • @.32 Olajuwon turns on his cloaking device temporarily.

  • lol hakeem is the headless ghost

  • Looking back.....I'd still take Dream number one.

  • kareem is the all time scoring leader. he played into his 40's. he had one dominant shot. the sky hook. wsa not near as adrenaline, heart pounding and as fascinating to watch as hakeem. was not the shot blocker hakeem was, did not have the moves hakeem did and was not near as mobile as hakeem was. any great center to have played in the nba during the 80's 90's or 2000's will say the same.

  • First off David Stern's mustache is just amazing. Secondly, Hakeem looks like he's going to his high school prom with that tux

  • I am a native Houstonian. Hakeem was THE best center to grace the NBA. Collectively he could do more than any center PERIOD. He made a fool of Ewing, Shaq, Robinson over and over agin. Ant of you fuckin morons want to contest that just watch reels of vid on here with any center you "think" may even have come close to matching his athletic prowess. Chamberlain would have been stymied trying to guard Hakeem. And Hakeem would have thrown his shit across the arena. Take that to the bank.

  • @DLynch35 I love Hakeem but what about Kareem? An interesting matchup, what's your take.

Hakeem is #11 on my greatest players of all time list.

  • @njnets2000 top 5 in mine for hakeem i have jabbar at 10

  • @DLynch35 No he would Chamberlain, Bill, and you can argue Mosses are better centers then Hakeem you may even be able to argue for shaq but to say he would dominate Wilt just shows me you know nothing about basketball.

  • damn what if jordan wouldnt have played in the minors in 94-95 no rings for HAKEEM

  • Fisheyes23.....wrong fool. First off MJ was thrown out of the league because of his gambling. And second of all, Hakeem swept a team that had Jordan changing Jersey numbers. Learn your history.

  • @FuShengAlex i have heard that jordan gambling hypothesis before..care to elaborate?

  • @Fisheyes23 actually, jordan came back in the middle of the 94-95 season from the pathetic minor league baseball attempt he had. and the rockets did not struggle so much against the bulls. the real question is had they played seattle would they have those 2 rings? seattle had their number for years.

  • @DLynch35 I would have loved to see Houston vs. Chicago. I think the Rockets could have beaten them, but yeah, the Sonics owned the rockets. How? I don't know, but they PWNED THEM!

  • Drafted before Jordan, yet no one even questions Houstons pick, that shows what a great player Olajuwon was

  • @DOMOMAN89 did you know that jordan said if he could have played with any player of his choice in his playing days it would've been hakeem?

  • Akeem Olajuwon, one of the greatest center in NBA!! Along side of Lou Alcindor, Bill Russell, Akeem Olajuwon is in the third in my opinion.

  • man... everybody was in this draft ! Jordan, Olajuwon...

  • damn you can't even see hakeem with that background

  • i think he was trying to flirt with the daughter of houston's owner..."his daughter tracey".

  • i understand olajuwon was awesome.......... but just like blazers, EPIC FAILURE for rockets...... if they only knew HAHAHAHA

  • @babaGANOOSH87

I wouldn't say an epic failure. Hakeem was one of the greatest centers of all time. Other then Kareem and Wilt, who was better then this guy?

  • @reddwarfposse Bill Russell and Shaq are better than The Dream. Look at the rings and the team success their teams had compared to Hakeem.

  • @slippyal2 So Robert Horry is 7 times better than Karl Malone and Charles Barkley? Get real. Hakeem destroyed Shaq when he was starting, plus Hakeem had a longer peak than Shaq. Russell "dominated" because his team was filled with nothing but all star players. Nobody in their right mind would say that Russell was better than Wilt, just happened to be in a better situation. Dream had to play against the Celtics, Lakers, and later the Bulls, not like he could win a whole lot of titles.

  • @75samuel75 Don't bring Robert Horry into this, I'm talking about guys being The Man. Hakeem outplayed a young Shaq, which is insigfnificant to me in terms of their career. Shaq was more dominate for a longer period of time. There is others who agree with me about Russell over Wilt. Russell sacraficed stats for the good of the team. It is why he is the greatest team player. Wilt was a me guy and it cost him titles.

  • @reddwarfposse

Not to mention the priority at the time is to draft a center. Not many knew MJ would be great and the Rockets did tried to acquire the second pick from the Blazers to draft him.

Also Olajuwon was indeed one of the greatest centers, when it comes to the draft it's a no brainer for the Rockets to draft him.

Can't hold it against them, too bad for the Blazers Bowie couldn't stay healthy.

  • @babaGANOOSH87 they won two titles with Hakeem, and made it to the finals in '86. He's the greatest Center of his era.

  • Damn the 1984 draft class was freakin stacked.....Hakeem, Barkley and of course the GOAT Michael Jordan.

  • @SymbiSpidey John Stockton also

  • @ 0:59 - 1:03 he has no head lol

  • Akeem ? i got a Poster of him where his name is Hakeem

  • @Dredgion He changed it to Hakeem in 1991 when he became a devout Muslim.

  • @ARobb5 oh man XD

  • this guy got quadruple-doubles i dont get better then that

  • PRpride89.....Yeah sure buddy. Larry Bird stopped Hakeem from winning a title long before MJ even knew what it was like to lead a team to a winning record. And for the record Hakeem won his second title with MJ in the league. And he won his first without a 2nd star, Jordan had Pippen.

  • @TehLazernetsRkewl you really dont know? 2 titles, multiple all-star appearences, MVP, all-time leader in blocks, voted one of the 50 greatest players of all-time, id say he did alright for himself

  • Hakeem Olajuwon and Michael Jordan were the biggest that year

  • I have ZERO regrets taking Olajuwon number 1....he was a straight warrior that put Houston on his back.

  • THE 6TH PICK OF THIS DRAFT, "DINNER BELL" MEL TURPIN COMMITTED SUICIDE TONIGHT AT AGE 49. HE WAS A TEAMMATE OF SAM BOWIE(THE 2ND PICK IN THIS DRAFT) AT KENTUCKY

  • lol chris bosh

  • A Tux...........I love it.

  • Been a huge NBA fan since 1997 (I was 9 back then) and Hakeem has to be my favorite Center EVER, and that´s saying a lot, cause I´ve seen David Robinson, Patrick Ewing, Shaq, Mutombo, Alonzo Mourning and a few more.

  • @albertocmacarini

that's not saying anything. He was better than all of them.

  • Olajuwon looked like he stepped off of Michael Jackson's "Don't Stop Till You Get Enough" video.

  • @jamintube hahaha so perfect

  • The 1984 NBA draft is without a doubt the best draft class of all-time.

    Olajuwon, Jordan, Barkley, and Stockon.

Even some others were pretty good, too:

Sam Perkins, Otis Thorpe, Kevin Willis, Alvin Robertson.

    Overall a great draft class.

  • Seeing Olajuwon hold up the #34 jersey for the first time. For me to know what he would end up doing with that jersey! That moment gave me chills!

  • oh yea i got that draft card

  • holy crap i didnt realize how great the 1984 draft was i think the best were 1984 1996 and 2003 just my opinion

  • @nuggetsfan0115

    2003 has nothing on '84

    Jordan, Barkley, Stockton, & Olajuwon.

4 of the 50 Greatest players in NBA history.

  • the best nba draft year of all time.

  • Knowing what I know now about the careers of Hakeem, MJ, and Barkely, I still think Houston made the right choice. After all, they did win the title in '86, the repeated in 94 and 95.

  • Boston won the title in '86. Houston lost to them.

  • Okay, not to make jokes or anything, but when Akeem is walking to the podium, the only thing you can see is his white undershirt lmao.

That being said, he's one of few guys I wish I could've been around to see play.

  • @ripmeast21 He was pretty good. Had a nice fadaway hook shot at the corner that just killed a lot of teams

  • SIMMONS

  • the dream was straight nasty. as a knick fan i hated him. i didnt appreciate how good he was towards the end.

  • i thought his name was hakeem

  • he added the "h" when he converted to Islam.

  • He always was a Muslim I think, he just added the H to his name when he actually became religious.

  • @Elmaln Yes, you're right. I meant when he embraced the religion.

  • "i think i'd like to play in the paint" .... haha love this man

  • Wow, some people have nothing else better to do than argue who the GOAT is, who's better than who, and insult each other over their opinions. Shows how little respect they have for the game of basketball.

  • @jaranarm True, very true. I'm actually one of those people who always speaks who the GOAT is but what you said is so true. We all should just enjoy the game.

  • the dream lives on. Too bad they traded him. Should have retired a rocket.

  • not even close...

  • Comment removed

  • wtf you been smoking

  • tell me how my ass tastes!

  • prob like a dog wgi been fucking it all day.

  • What about Jabbar?

    : )

  • if only the rockets can foresee the future... Well, at least they got 2 championships while MJ's in the Major League resting..

  • President Obama said that he likes rap. He mentioned Ludacris and Jay-Z but has a problem with some of the stuff in it including that word and disrepect of women.

  • Having alot of years under your belt means nothing, if they are not Quality years.

  • The word is quality mistuhbig, not quantity. I have witnessed the true greats of the game do what they do best. KOBE, SHAQ, LEBRON, D WADE, MELLO. I even saw MJ play with Washington, & even though i'm not a fan of his i' d sure rank him over cartwright & richardson. hahaha Point is, i have seen the best play.. & u have seen bill cartwright.. wow! i am also a student of the game, that's why i called you out on the cartwright statement.. if that's the best you got in terms of history, damn!

  • Like I said, I just used Cartwright and Richardson because my first basketball game was one I seen in person when I went to the Garden. I never said Cartwright or Richardson were the best. In terms of the best players around that time, you had Doc, Kareem, Magic, Bird, Moses, etc. I'm done. Grow up.

  • Like i said, i just used SHAQ, KOBE, LEBRON, D WADE, MELLO & JORDAN because that's who i saw in my first basketball experiences. I am saying they are the best.. i'd much rather see the best than some scrubs, but if those are the only ballers you've seen then you are very limited.. you shouldn't be talking unless you've witnessed the best in person. It's a whole different ball game (so to speak) when you can watch the VERY best first hand.. but you can just keep on watching from your couch.

  • mistuhbig, you started two posts out by saying "no one is bragging" well using cartwright & richardson to emphasize how old you are, sure sounds like bragging. You're just bragging about your age & watching scrubs play. You were obviously not fortunate enough to see true greats of the game play, like i have been able to. Again i feel sorry 4 you.. but were you really bragging about reading a slam mag with grandmama on the cover??? well i guess you really do like your men in drag huh?

  • No, it is you who must like your men in drag. You started out commenting on the size of my johnson

  • KOBE > mlk, ghandi malcolm

    hahahahaha

Your sphincter is too tight, nigga.

  • I) Fuck with your soul like ether

(Will) Teach you the king you know you

(Not) "God's son" across the belly

(Lose) I prove you lost already

  • SHAQUILLE O'NEAL

    4-time NBA Champion

    2000 NBA MVP

199293 NBA Rookie of the Year

    3-time NBA Finals MVP

    2-time NBA Scoring Champion

    3-time All-Star MVP

    15-time All-Star

    SHAQ > olajuwon

  • SHAQ > olajuwon

    KOBE > jordan

    Salley > Cartwright

  • hahahahaha i've seen john salley play, i think that's about as good as seeing cartwright.

    John Salley > Bill Cartwright

hahaha @ least salley is still on television

    hahahaha bill cartwright??????

    That's all you got???

  • mistuhbig, you are bragging about seeing bill cartwright play??? DAMN nigga i have seen Shaq, Kobe, D Wade, LeBron & Mello play. I'll brag about that while you brag about scrubs like cartwright & richardson.

  • No one is bragging about Michael Ray Richardson or Bill Cartwright play. But Richarson would have been a superstar if it wasn't for Coke. Cartwright was once a 20 point scorer with that funny looking shot but a lousy rebounder. I was emphasizing the length of time I followed basketball. The late '70s. UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU READ.

  • SHAQ > olajuwon

    KOBE > jordan

Brandon Jennings > bill cartwright's ole crusty ass

  • KOBE = G.O.A.T.

  • Mistuhbig, why is it that you don't like Jordan as a person? What exactly did he do or not do to make you say such a thing?

  • I should not say I dislike him because I don't know the man I am not a fan of him off of the court but admire him as a player. He does not take a stand on anything when he has the clout to do so. In the 80s people in the gheto were killing each other over a pair of his sneakers, he did not give a damn that people were dying over the sneakers and that they were overpriced. The violence over the sneakers have long stopped but the sneakers are still way overpriced, even for children.

  • How could you say he didn't give a damn? This was what Jordan actually said in response to the killings:

"I'd rather eliminate the product [the shoes] than know drug dealers are providing the funds that pay me."

But of course Nike wouldn't let that happen. It would cost them. Even drug money was found to be supporting the product without Jordan's knowing. There are powers beyond his control. But Jordan did a lot for our community when I was growing up in Chicago so this won't happen again.

  • jordan is an old punk ass like olajuwon so STFU you ol' crusty bitch! hahaha phil jackson's balls r in your mouth so suck 'em like you do your daddy.

  • Oh no, you insulted me. I'm crying a river!!!

    ::YAWN::

  • hahahaha yes bordertown that's about all you are worth, cheap insults.. @ least mistuhbig represents some sort of challenge. You just ride jordan's dick

    YAWN

  • ZzzZzzZzzzZzzZzzZzzZzzz...

  • hahahaha i'm glad you responded so quickly, i knew you weren't doing anything better, old crusty ass nigga

  • Jordan, because he was such a superstar, was a gravy train that Nike was willing to ride. If Jordan would have said, If you don't bring down your prices, I will rip up my contract and wear someone else's shoe. Nike needed Jordan more than Jordan needed them. Jordan was their meal ticket because he was becoming the most exciting player to ever lace up sneakers. He also generated revenue for the NBA. Jordan now has his own brand and still has those high prices.

  • Why single out Jordan when it comes to prices for a product? When you've got a popular product that sells then shouldn't you expect nothing else? Why bring down the price when it already sells like crazy at the price it's already at? It's simple business logic. A single person doesn't determine the price of a product, the market does. I do agree with you that they're too expensive though. I personally don't have the luxury and priority to spend that much on shoes, but that's just me.

  • I brought up Jordan to make a point to someone else commenting on this video. I did not mean to single him out. Supply and demand is Economics 101, that's true. There are other all star athletes that had shoes out for reasonable prices: Hakeem Olajuwon (Etonic), Reggie Jackson (Spalding/Puma), Stephon Marbury (Starbury), Magic Johnson/Larry Bird/Dr. J (Donverse). Patrick Ewing's Addidas, from what I remember, was not cheap but not as astronomical as Air Jordan's for their time.

  • That's true, but keep in mind though that the products of other athletes weren't as demanded as Air Jordans in comparison, so therefore they sold more reasonably. So yes, market forces at work, but I agree the prices of the sneakers are astronomical to the point of ridiculous. I never bothered to buy a pair.

  • bordertown? is it?? you are out of your element. kinda like jordan playing baseball

    hahahaha old crusty ass nigga

  • KOBE > everyone else

MaxCady911 > all of olajuwon's fans on yt who try 2 protect his old stank ass.

    SHAQ > hakeem, ghandi, mlk

  • KOBE = G.O.A.T.

SHAQ = BEST BIG MAN EVER

BRANDON JENNINGS = Rookie of the year

RON ARTEST = MOST HEART of anyone

    PHIL = G.O.A.T. COACH

    MICHAEL JACKSON = G.O.A.T. Entertainer

  • KOBE = G.O.A.T

Mistuhlildick, u crack me up tryin' to sound all important by promoting ghandi, malcolm & mlk. you think promoting them them makes you deeper or something? shut yo old stank ass up fool. hahaha a REAL historical figure recently died, the true MJ, Michael Joseph Jackson R.I.P.

Michael Jackson > jordan, ghandi, mlk, x

  • Check out Hakeem Olajuwon against David Robinson in the (I think it was1995)playoffs. I like Robinson, but Olajuwon did him dirty. Olajuwon ran a low-post footwork clinic and schooled him.

  • ps oh god tony parker needs to dissapear. i hate that lil french bastard...

  • lol well im not one to agree and just reference what ive read in magazines and poles on tv taken. but i do know jordan was always surrounded by great players his whole career untill he did that idiot move and came out of retirement to be a wizard. pippin. rodman. kukoce. ker. and kobe had shaq for a tiny bit of his career. then had to cary his team on his own for awhile. so jordan tho i respect him fully is still a bit over praised... but to each his own... its a good argument indeed.

  • Houston was correct, choosing Olajuwon as 1st pick.However...I wonder why Portland picked Sam Bowie?

  • Because Bowie was that good. He was a 7-footer who can rebound, block shots, pass and shoot from distance. When he was 19 and on the Olympic team that boycotted, his team played the NBA and won 4 out of 5 games. Bowie, at 19, showed that he can play against NBA players. Unfortunately, he had the worst injury any athlete can have: stress fractures to the shinbones. He would have been a hell of a pro. While others worked on their game, Bowie had to heal and keep working on rehab.

  • lol callin kobe overated is just jelousy. no offence. the dudes done proved himself time and time again. even when folks thought he'd do shit when he was doin all that court shit. i mean im not the number one kobe fan. and i deff agree with you about mj. but come on... lets keep the hateraid with the haters... kobe is a good player... end of story...

  • yea Kobe has as many Finals MVP's as Paul Pierce,Tony Parker,D-Wade and Chuncey Billups that's the gropu of players he belongs with from today's TRASH era

Jordan is a legend and icon that will never be forgotten he will be remembered with people like Muhammad Ali,Jackie Robinson, Tiger Woods and even icons like Martin Luther King Obama and Michael Jackson

Jordan is ranked as the 2nd most recognized athlete in the world (only 2nd to Tiger Woods)

Kobe is only ranked at #9

  • Kobe is the most overrated player in NBA history

Kobe is just a good player from a weak era like Lebron Chris Paul Steve Nash etc. ppl will foreget them all in 5-6 years but MJ is a legend that will never be forgotten like MLK or Gandi

Shaw never won anything during the great 90's he made it to the FInals but got schooled by Hakeem

  • KOBE = G.O.A.T.

olajuwon is just a prissy sissy like you, who is lucky he didn't have to play a fully mature SHAQ DIESEL. olajuwon's stank ass is already forgotten by most, except for a few losers on his youtube pages. jordan will soon be forgotten as well, as men like KOBE, wade & lebron ensure these so called legends will fade into oblivion!

    KOBE > mlk & gandi's legend combined.

Phil Jackson's balls are all up in your mouth, so suck 'em!

  • Hello, Olajuwon played Shaq in the '95 finals and beat Shaq and the Magic. Also, are you saying Kobe is greater than Dr. King and Gandi's legend? Basketball, as much as I love it, is just a game. It is only entertainmnet. Dr. King and Gandhi have made the world a better place to live in. How can you compare Kobe to historical figures. Only a few athletes that have impacted our lives on such a level that transcends outside of sports. On the court, Kobe is not better than Jordan

  • hahahaha mistuhlildick, olajuwon played shaq before Shaq was in his prime. Shaq was already betta than him like a year later & punked his ass out repeatedly. olajuwon was then forced to hide up in toronto while shaq won 3 with LA hahahaha

KOBE > dr. king & ghandi combined.

    KOBE = G.O.A.T.

  • The season Shaq lost to Hakeem, 1994-95. Shaq led the league in scoring. He was already in his prime (his third season). Shaq said that Hakeem outplayed him. Also, Hakeem is one of the few centers that he played against that Shaq respects (he can't stand Ewing and Robinson). Hakeem is 9 years older than Shaq and well past his prime in Toronto. Stop talking out of your ass.

  • hahahaha mistuhlildick players are not in their prime by their 3rd season in the league, u old stank ass nigga. shaq was just a dominant force early. Shaq's prime was when he was winning 'ships in LA. though shaq did surpass hakeem by '95-'96. hakeem ran to toronto to try and escape the SHAQ attack. hakeem was a disgrace who nobody cares about anymore other than the idiots on his yt pages. Shaq on the other hand will win yet another 'ship this year with king james. hahahahaha where's hakeem now?

  • I'm not a "nigga". or a "nigger". I am a Black man. Brother, stop using the word. You call me old? How old are you? I am 40, which is not old. Toronto TRADED Olajuwon, who was near the end of his career, but had trade value, for some draft picks. Save the escape talk. Hakeem is such a disgrace he will be in the Hall of Fame. Most retired athletes are out of the limelight. . If you are under 21, I can understand some of your ignorance. Know what you are talking about.

  • hahahaha you OLD, white acting fool.. i'm proud to be a nigga. i guess you still think that "nigga" is a negative term. OWN the word do not let the word own you brother. I'm the same age as Brandon Jennings, so if you know anything about basketball you won't have to ask me again. BTW Slam magazine ( if u know what that is ) ranked SHAQ as the number 4 baller of all-time! Only Jordan, Wilt & Russell were ranked higher.. not hakeem. In fact KOBE was ranked higher than hakeem too. poor hakeem ;(

  • What does acting "White" mean? Staying out of trouble, speaking or writing in good English? I guess to you being Black is doing negative shit and "keeping it real". If you're as old as Jennings, that means you are 19 or 20. Like I said, I understand your ignorance. I have been following hoops before you were thought about. SLAM had Jennings and Rubio on a cover. Two players who did shit overseas. I have SLAM magazines going back to the first issue with Larry Johnson of the Hornets.

  • Acting "white" means you are an uncle tom, fool. You said "speaking or writing in good english" that is not proper usage of the english language in itself. so i will not accuse you of that. Your just a dumb, old uncle tom who wants to suck up to whitey while not comprehending that whitey will call you a nigger as soon as your back is turned. OWN the word, do not let the word own you.

So if u have so many SLAM mags, then you give validity to SHAQ being ranked MUCH higher than Hakeem. Thank You!

  • So I am an Uncle Tom because I don't use the N-word? Some Whites will call us the word and justify it by saying it is OK because WE use it, STUPID ASS. Call yourself stupid ass so you can own the word. Because that is what you are. All you proably read is SLAM. There are many magazines with varying opinions about who is better than who. So what. Ignorant bastard.

  • hahahaha mistuhbig MOST whites call us the word because it's inflammatory. It is meant to own us, Slave Masters were not using it because WE use it, you INTELLECTUALLY CHALLENGED FOOL . Call yourself intellectually challenged because it's appropriate. I don't think you are capable or reading anything that does not contain lots of little pictures & slam ups.. that's why i thought you may have seen the slam mag, you fit the profile. Obviously you have no education, so i do feel for you..

  • No one is bragging about Bill Cartwright playing. The point is, retard, I was watching and following basketball as far back as Bill Cartwright and Michael Ray Richarson were teammate with the Knicks. I was emphasizing the time not bragging about Bill or Sugar. Reading comprehension is not one of your strong suits, huh?

  • The point is, your a popinjay.. (go look that one up in a dictionary, i doubt you have it in your limited vocabulary) The fact that you're old does not make you wise, Syracuse??? hahahaha

That's almost as funny as your cartwright quote. I currently attend Georgia Tech, a real school.

You shouldn't have cut class so much. You might have learned something..

  • The word has a history. Talk to a 55 year old Black person. Especially one who grew up in the South. I doubt that you would because you don't respect history or anything older, or anything not shooting a ball.. All you know how to do is insult and curse. For your information, I graduated from Syracuse 18 years ago and doing well. I am smart enough to not say Kobe is greater than MLK and not put people into a profile. That is what happens when you read nothing but SLAM.

  • Considering you are 40... Damn, you really didn't learn anything all of those years did you? You sound like someone who never watched a game in his life, or bothered going to school for that matter. What did you do all day? play nintendo or something? Duck Hunt? Nigga Please! Don't bring age into this because it actually makes me feel sorry for you. I know crack was in popular demand in the 80's and all but you don't have to fit that stereotype to a tee.

-i fuck with your soul like ether-

  • I don't base my opinion on a magazines that have different opinions on who is better than who. I have been a basketball fan since I went to Madison Square Garden and see Michael Ray Richardson and Bill Cartwright play for the Knicks. You get hype about cats who have a nice handle, throw down a nice dunk but hasn't done anything yet. As for feeling sorry for me, no need to. I am doing quite well. Have some class.
