Once the Chipettes became regulars on the show, their story had to be told, too. Just like Alvin, Simon, and Theodore's search for their Mother, a long lost friend of the Chipettes came to a show of theirs, and wondered why they left. The girls proceeded to tell their story in a regular episode. It wasn't a movie.

i think it's a movie... the chipettes were supposedly born in austrailia and orphened as infants... the travled to america and stayed with an austrailian woman... long story short they met the chipmunks who helped them out in various parts and now they live with Ms. Miller
