Bike lanes are safe? Are you sure? The majority of bike-car collisions happen at intersections. Bike lanes exacerbate those hazards, they don't mitigate them.
Safety in traffic is not an engineering problem, it is a behavior problem.
Teach cyclists to drive their bikes like vehicles for safety's sake!

Redondo Avenue on both the Long Beach side ((PO, Armory) and Signal Hill side (wine place, bakery) need both SIDEWALKS and bikelanes in Long Beach.
This is an unsafe line of travel but many pedestrians and bikers risk traveling it.
