I think this would have been better if there was nobody over the microphone, they had no control over turning the light on or off, control is a basic human need, and having that makes all the difference. I feel if they had to leave because they couldn't take it anymore, they could try to open the door and it wouldn't budge, then find some way to ask them if its their final decision, if it is, let them go.
