Parallel Universe is a great song, I love the Red Hot Chili Peppers but I think the Peppers have had there best time, especially Kiedis and I think that if they're are going to make another album (maybe? who knows?) it won't be the Alternative Rock & Funk from the old days. You can see that also on Stadium Arcadium, great songs & great album, but not as punky/funky as the Peppers were.. So I think if they want to be remembered from the old funky songs they should stop.

i play the guitar for 5 years now, its not a lot of years but i can already see mistakes, and i think frusciante doesnt really care about playing technically perfect, and thats what makes him so good, and we can feel a lot of his feeling live, which isnt the same on the studio recordings.
