ok, usually the terms "fluffy, fluffy bunny, fluff bun, fluff tard, and fluff nugget" are used to describe "Wiccans" who will not accept fact over the opinions either they or their favorite fluffy author (Example Silver Ravenwolf) have concocted. an example of this would be, a person who claims to be a Alexandrian Wiccan, yet has not been initiated, and will not accept that though they follow the path's belief system, they still are not a member of said Tradition.
Thank you for posting this video. I have seen where pagans will bash other pagans for being fluffy bunnies, or, even being "wrong" in their way of thinking. And this makes me mad. Well maybe some beginners, like me, who are just studying and learning, might not get everything "right" right away, but this should mean that other wiccans or pagans should direct them and teach. Not ridicule and make fun of. So, again, thank you!
Fluffy for me means two things. One is that fluffy things are soft and pretty and that fluffies often have this attitude with regard to the world and it's wonderful that they can believe the world is one fluffy place but it makes them appear slightly divorced from harsh reality. On the other hand, I accept that magic can be dangerous and I still practice and take precautions at each step. I struggle to believe that this world is a lovely place because there is war, suffering, dying, rape etc.
@gdchet The second thing is that fluffy objects don't have clear boundries/edges. In fluffies we notice that often their knowledge of the craft is based on academic conjecture and fantasy-representations of craft. That is great if like a Chaos magician they accept that it is not fact and use it to practice ritual technique rather than to devote their lives to.
Also they often deny Monotheistic religions and "high magic" without realizing that magic was born from this!
@gdchet People who consider me pagan often compare me to fluffies why should I have to be associated with someone that makes me look like I live in a fantasy world and don't know anything.
to me, "fluffy" just means that you think you are an expert on something because you have looked at a couple of websites and you really have a shit load to learn. i have been Wiccan for almost two years now (self-initiated for eleven months now), and i know that i have a lot to learn. i hate when people call others "fluffy" because they don't do sacrifices. that's not fluffy, that's true paganism. "An HARM NONE, do what ye will."
My take on 'fluffy' has always been someone who wants the identity but does not want to take the time to learn. Newbies are not necessarily fluffy. 'Proper' ritual clothes or lack of initiation or lack of a coven does not make a person fluffy. Its the willful decision-not- to take the time to learn that makes 1 fluffy.
I agree with thestarfkr, I don't call them bunnies or fluff bunnies or anything, but people who walk around all intimidating with capes and robes and very obvious "pagan" type jewelry with that gothic look to them.. Women who wear insanely heavy makeup and corsets with scary tats and piercings are making the rest of us look bad. They are more gothic than anything.. And who knows if they take paganism or Wicca seriously as a religion? I think they make others look bad.
*Dark Bunnies* are the opposite of Fluff Bunnies. They lean so far to the dark side of the goddess and god and reality that they ignore the positive side. Just like the Fluff Bunnies they are unbalanced people. Dark Bunnies are the types to dress up in like black robes and capes and walk downtown with their brooms, staves, and giant pentacles around their necks exposed. They may appear more gothic inclined. Their actions scream, "Look at me, I'm a witch! Don't F*ck With Me!" Again, unbalanced.
*Fluff Bunnies* are "Wiccans" who are ignorant of their own religion, who are ignorant of history, who deny the dark side of reality and of the goddess & god, and who are generally fantasy prone people with their heads in the clouds. The term "fluff bunnies" is used to imply they are weak and harmless. They have practically no power, magic wise, again because they deny the dark aspects of relaity and of the goddess & god. They are unbalanced people, basically.
"Those who are not initiated into a tradtional coven with a high priestess & priest aren't Wiccans"
This comes from Gardneria Tradition. They do not accept any form of self-initiation as Wicca was never meant for the masses. So yes, if you a solitary practitioner who has never been initiated into a tradition, more specifically Garnerian Tradition, then they refuse to accept you as a Wiccan.
Here is my take on the word 'fluffy bunny', as a practitioner of Cornish tradition witchcraft or heathenism I find those who practice new age spiritualism, wiccan, etc. faiths are fluffy bunnies. I don't judge this as being deviant, nor do I see the term fluffy bunny as a slanderous but I see it as a way to separate those who practice traditional/reconstructionalist pagan faiths and spiritualistic/occult religious movements. I don't care for Wicca but I don't judge it either. Cheers
I understand the point of how about people who don't live anywhere near a coven. I've been solitary for around 6/7 years, and it's not like I have no interest in covens, but there isn't any covens anywhere close to where I am. (bear in mind, my ONLY mode of transportation is walking) a little city in south east idaho. there is a public circle for the full moon and new moon though like 2 miles away.
For the record, I don't think you're a fluffy bunny; the very fact that you're asking questions about it proves that you're not. I would recommend, however, reading Gerald Gardner and Doreen Valiente to get a better idea of what Wicca is about, instead of the newer, watered down stuff.
I do not consider myself Wiccan. I consider myself a Pagan Witch, who practices a traditional form of Witchcraft. I think if people had better education about the history of Witchcraft, many fewer would use the Wicca label.
My own definition of "fluffy bunny" would be somebody who thought everything was all "sweetness and light" and that Wicca is "whatever you want it to be." People who carry "harm none" (which is advice, and not a law) to ridiculous extremes would be another. I agree that there is much too much insulting going on in the Pagan world, but I also agree that the vast majority of people who think they're Wiccan are not. If you're not following Gardner or Valiente, you're not Wiccan.
People use the term "fluffy bunny" because they're tired of working for years to get initiated, and then come across someone who's read two books and decides that they're a "high priestess." As traditional Wicca is practiced in the nude, and includes sexual aspects, scourging (ritual flogging as a way to raise energy) and other sexual practices, allowing someone under the age of 18 to join isn't only a bad idea, it's probably illegal in most places.
It's not that Wiccans are hateful, it's just that it's a serious, adult, initiatory practice. People who claim you have to be initiated to be Wiccan aren't a modern phenomenon designed to oppress people. The idea that you can just "believe" something and be Wiccan is the new idea. It's possible to practice as a solitary, but it's difficult.
I don't like the term "fluffy bunny" either, though I can see where some people are coming from. Wicca was never, ever meant to be the "do whatever you want" religion some try to practice now. Real Wicca, as designed by Gardner, was an initiatory, mystery-based practice that followed a specific God and Goddess. It also included ritual sex and other dark practices, hence the reason you have to be over 18 to join a coven.
While not outright called a fluffy bunny I was once similarly accused, and by someone I trusted. So I stopped talking to people for a long time about my spirituality and in general keep to myself. It sucks because there's a lot I would like to talk about, but it feels awkward... a mixture of fear and spite... whenever I do open up a little.
Please use your brain. There is no such thing as magic. There are no Gods. There are no Goddesses. There's absolutely no evidence for any of these things.
I used to be interested in this garbage when I was a teenager and wasted much of my time reading books on the subject etc.
Please consider what I say and stop wasting your time.
no matter what its meant in a negitive way and just shouldnt be said, and as pagan we should all know better. if someones does or says somthing foolish walk away and let them be,they will learn in there own time just as we all do. it reminds me of being in grammer school whan all the 4th graders picked on the underclass for being smaller just as they were a year b4,my point is that all it does is teach them when they make that level its ok to the same thing for the same stupid reasons.
I also wanted to point out, I am a solitary practitioner of Wicca. I do not call myself Wiccan yet since I am newer to practicing it though I have studied for many years off and on. I agree with you that the Wiccan community, not the pagan community, need to come together and accept one another. I think those who are Wiccan to scare or be cool is what a fluffy bunny should be.
According to Traditionalist perspective Wicca is an initiatory coven-based lineage priesthood. The materials that are available to all of those not in a coven are considered outer court materials. Some Traditionalist are trying to take back the term of Wiccan, but even this term is different that it used to be. Women used to be called Wicce, I believe. I would say that those who follow the outer court materials are able to call themselves Neo-Wiccan according to Traditionalists.
I think that the reason that "fluffy bunny" is such an insult now is because it represents an unhealthy overemphasis on the "light" parts of the Craft. Fluffy bunnies reject all the dark parts of the world that are just as integral to existence as the light , and no matter what path you choose, if you focus too much on light, you just get a really long shadow that you're not equipped to deal with.
It can be hard to embrace the faith, but a faith doesn't have to be openly expressed. It really isn't something that is necessary to discuss unless the choice is made to disclose it. "Fluffy Bunny" is a term that came from "Wicca: For the Rest of Us." It is a website dedicated to the non-bs portion of Wicca, and if at the very least, provides a booklist that isn't filled with the misinformation that pervades the faith today.
Wicca is not a good faith for anyone who has issues being openly sexual with other people. Wicca's sexual basis is also why Wicca does not initiate minors - and in fact refuses to even start teaching the basics to a person until they are 18. This is not open to interpretation or debate: it is a part of the laws of the Wica, which are known as the Ardanes.
This is correct; though, we are not of the Wica, it is rather refreshing to see a person who knows what they are talking about. You seem like a person of a BTW coven.
Many people assume that means actual intercourse, but there are many levels of sexual activity - and indeed, a non-Wiccan would probably miss some of the sexual nature that Wiccan ritual contains (even in an outer-court situation), because it can be incredibly subtle, or easily overlooked if you're lacking the contextual knowledge initiates have.
And naturally, fertility means sex. It's very difficult to have one without the other. Wicca does contain sexual context, and activity, within its' rites.
Wicca is a fertility cult. It's not a Nature cult, or an 'earth-based' path. We don't worship Nature. We honour fertility! Fertility is one specific aspect of Nature; so while we may see and appreciate fertility reflected in the cycles of Nature.
And finding an actual, lineaged coven (we'll talk about lineage later) can be a lot of work - travel, time, money, energy. And those sacrifices to attend a group are expected. It's considered normal. People who complain about not finding a coven in their area so they can learn properly, are typically looked at with some disdain, especially by those Wiccans who travel considerable lengths to their own covens.
Solitary Wiccans really don't exist. You can have initiated Wiccans who are unable to practice with their covens: they moved, they're away, they got sick, etc. But what they do on their own is neo-pagan witchcraft, heavily flavoured by Wicca, performed by a Wiccan - it's not proper Wiccan practice.
an Orthopraxic, Oathbound, Initiatory, Mystery-based, Experiential, Coven-based, Fertility-focused, Dithesitic Witch-cult whose members are all Clergy within a Lineaged Tradition.
True, such as the New Forest Coven. Though I feel kin in soul to New Forest, we are of a fam trad, however, we do have influences in common. I could be wrong, but are you of a BTW coven?
@sisryc3 , No I am not part of any coven, I am interested in witchcraft specifically Wicca. I guess the correct term for me would be a Wicca Seeker though I am open to any other traditions or path of witchcraft and I am more then willingly to learn their methods. I am still in search for whats right for me. :)
Dude, take no notice of those who would set themselves higher and go out of their way to degrade or insult you. That is not what Wicca is about. Covens have their place and purpose, as do Hedgewitches and the uninitiated. Find your own path. Wicca is about self and your relationship with the God and Goddess. Blessed be.
That has nothing to do with Wicca. Solitary practitioners only exist after they have reached 3rd degree and can do it by themselves and have the power to start their own covens. I say again as I have been saying since I became a member of youtube: Wicca is an orthopraxic mystery fertility cult. No more, no less. This is why you are a fluffy bunny because you have the audacity and ignorance and arrogance to don a title that you have not rightly earned!
1:50 You must be referring to me! Haha. Yes, they can not be of the Wicca. And she was absolutely correct! If the Wiccan community ever tried to initiate anyone under the age of 18 they would be arrested! It is a fertility mystery cult. That means sex! That does not make them a fluffy bunny, no. They are made a fluffy bunny because they are ignorant. Fluffy Bunny is a term of Ignorance.
But that is what is happening. Do you know their names? The oathbound names of the Lord and Lady?
Fluffy Bunny should be used to mean one thing and one thing only (like a wannabe who cares more for looking cool than something spiritual). A generic insult stemming from one group thinking they're the true Wiccans and all others aren't is harmful.
I think what happens is there are people who get involved in the occult because they wanna walk around like a badass. They will often get involved in whatever is the most obscure, LHP thing they can find, so they can wear goth clothing, and talk like know-it-alls, because they really don't have anything better to do with themselves.
Oftentimes these people are riddled with hostility and even deep down *know* somehow that *they* are just playing around. They see someone--
--who feels more comfortable in their skin than they do, and they feel threatened by it.
People who feel comfortable just being who they are, without having to be big, bad, know-it-alls, and sometimes are happy to experiment with things in ways the bad-asses would *never* have the courage to do themselves are often threatening.
What complicates things is that sometimes being comfortable to do things your own way sometimes *looks* like being too arrogant to listen to others,--
--especially to people who pride themselves on being big, bad, know-it-alls.
Unfortunately, no matter what group one is in, you will find people willing to attack others to prop up their own need to be accepted/listened to/whatever.
The only remedy I see is to look around at who you hang out with, and boycott people who regularly emit hostility at others at every opportunity.
i am new to the religion. i wouldnt concider myself this. as a once Christian, i want to know how it is that people argue that youhave to be initiated into the religion by a coven when there are so many solitaries? how are they different from the Christians saying that you are not Christian because they dont go to church every sunday. " God" is within us, as is the god/dess...in Christianity as Wicca, our bodies are our temples...they are in us, with us always, solitaries have every right todoit
People who call others Fluffy Bunnies aren't necessarily harming the Pagan community. Certainly, not everyone who gets called a Bunny is one, but those who are Bunnies are truly causing very much more harm to the religion than those who call them Bunnies.
I like ur vid. I'd too rarely hear the term. As for "being 18 yrs old to join..", covens have gotten into legal battles with parents. Religion is taken seriously by parents no matter the path.
If you believe urself to be pagan, the you are pagan. Your studying is your intiation.
fluffy bunnys are people who only see the good and not the dark they think there is only good in the world so the fluffy bunnys are very preppy wiccans thats all and love EVERYTHING and i mean everything It gets annoying after a short time
Agreed. Fluffy bunny's are just those who think all is light and rainbows and butterflies, which just isn't the case. Religion aside, anyone who thinks that way is deluded. And the worst part is they want to think that way, about the only way they can change that behavior is to be "shocked" out of it.
I would say that Fluffy Bunny is flung around WAY too much. It is someone who is all The Goddess doesn't hurt anyone she only gives life ETC. Or Nature is all good. Everything is Good that is PART of the Way to being Fluffy. So let's say that this is a Newbie saying this They aren't Fluffy YET!! They have to DENY the knowledge given them by someone more experienced that says Contrary, it is that unwillingness to see it any other way that makes one FLuffy. PT1
PT2 I would say that you should give that person a week or so to digest that though because you may find they will accept that The Goddess Kills as well ETC. That there is a contrast to the good stuff. I think Hexing or Cursing is NOT acceptable. Reflecting something back to someone I don't think is a curse, sometimes Attack is necissary in one's defense but it should ALWAYS be in your Defense other wise it is UNnecissary harm. I hope I have explained this well enough for people. Thanks BB
@lookingup82 Pt. 1 I am saying IF someone is attacking you by gossip NO magic Go about it everyother way and do NOT use Magic Against them but you could ask Truth to come to Light! IF you are being PHYSICALLY attacked and you happen to use Magic to hurt them Enough to Get away then that is ok. That is like using Martial Arts. IT is for your Protection to get out of that situation. That is ok to me... If Someone Magically Attacks Banish the Attack Heal all that need it.
@Rain4732 Pt. 2 I would then make sure to consult someone with more knowledge than you have and who has Proven themselves to be credible, ask them what to do from there. Every situation is different. Locating the Source of this attack would be one of the steps and before Action is taken. I hope this clarifies as I can see that I didn't explain very well first time. I apologize. I must take better care in my comments. Blessings on your path :)
As for the 'fluffy bunny' label, I've only heard it on the internet, and usually in reference to people who obtain all their spiritual knowledge from pop culture - Charmed, The Witches of Eastwick or World of Warcraft.
IMHO, anyone who has a genuine desire to learn, who is takes their newfound faith seriously, and who is willing to grow past such beliefs (assuming they ever held them) is not 'fluffy'.
The idea that one must be initiated to be a 'real' pagan is incomprehensible. I studied wicca for a year or so before gravitating towards druidry, but my ideas and opinions shouldn't carry any less weight because I have never been initiated into either a covern or a grove. I know far more solitaries of both faiths than I do members of a group.
but these are the things that we need to do and we should just do it without fear of punishment.
there is no such thing as a white witch and i think the community as a whole should start to embrace this concept because every spell you do is going to do a little bad to someone. and you cant live your life without hurting anything i mean you've gotta eat. there's always going to be a bit of hate in the community but hey we're only human.
i've never heard the term fluffy bunny used for someone thats new to the craft or someone thats misinformed i've only heard it used for someone that.. well a bit too peaceful. i think a lot of the time people use karma as an excuse to say "oh i did something bad in a past life and this is my punishment" instead of actually dealing with the problem. karma isn't the only law out there and we need to be able to put curses and hexes on people that bear us ill will an yes we will get bad karma for it
Many in our religion have read volumes of fantasy posing as history, and accepted it as fact. It is embarrassing when they repeat this pseudo-history in the name of Wicca, especially in the presence of others who actually know history. I always advise people reading books by Conway, McCoy, etc to skip over the chapters on "history."
Of course there is such thing as fluffy bunny, and being one is not healthy spiritually. But let's not get too unrestrained in applying the term. A bunny is one who either has little knowledge, has incorrect knowledge, or has an "anything goes" attitude. In a way, anything DOES go, but that doesn't mean anything can be correctly labeled Wiccan. At some point, they cross the line from Wicca to some other form of witchcraft/paganism.
No you do not need to be in a coven to be Wiccan/Pagan, however to be in a coven you need to know about the rituals and rules!!!
Also Wiccans and Pagans of the world who insult others should re-read what you have studied, remember you should never insult or harm others, it is the rule of the REDE!
Let's face it we get harassed enough from some (and I say some) Christians who are probably at this moment taking delight in seeing what's unfolding at this very moment.
My question... is Wicca an elitist club or a spiritual path? A hierarchical faith in which one needs a mediator between oneself and the divine, or a living faith in which one can access the divine for themselves? Is Wicca just one more authoritarian religion based on some priesthood, or is it a way to self-improvement and self-empowerment? A monolithic faith in which "everyone must think and do like me or else"? Such are questions well worth pondering.
That depends on your opinion and who you're asking. British Traditional Wiccans will tell you that in order to be a "real" Wiccan you have to be initiated into a Gardnerian or Alexandrian coven. The aim in being a coven member is to study under your High Priestess and be initiated into the First, Second, and Third Degrees - as a Third Degree initiate, you are considered a High Priest or Priestess yourself.
Way to cause Harm to the wiccan community folks /golf clap really smart move ...
I have no idea where this term came from or who started it, But should you practice wicca alone or with others doesn't matter. What matters is what you feel and know in your heart !
To the fluffy bunny callers of the world? you need to really think about what you are doing to your own community and in turn what you are doing to yourself as a result ..
Others say that a solitary path is valid. It is my opinion that there are things to be learned from both coven and solitary work.
The beauty of Wicca is that High Priests and Priestesses are merely group leaders - they are not more "holy" than the group they lead, they are merely more experienced, in the same way that a professor is more experienced than his or her students. Any Priest/ess who claims to be inherently better than anybody else is on a power trip.
It is important to distinguish between being "better than" and having more experience. We all have to start somewhere. We are all children of the Gods and are all capable of having a close, direct relationship with them, with or without a Priest/ess' help.
The rule most covens have about having to be 18 is, unfortunately, necessary. It is primarily about liability, though it can be good for younger people - perhaps give them a chance to do some studying before they join a coven.
Too right it does, but not every naturalistic belief is Wiccan. "Not Wiccan" does not mean "bad," it just means not Wiccan. And claims like "Wicca is prehistoric" are pretty damn fluffy. There's nothing wrong with correcting someone when they get their facts wrong.
I dont like the use of fluffy bunny,as nature works in diffrent ways for diffrent people,i Also dont feel that structure is that important within magic.
I dont like the use of fluffy bunny, and would never call anybody a fluffy bunny. What ever you pratice is up to you.Nature works in diffrent ways for diffrent people.I dont think structure is that important.Just my view.
Hi I going to make this very clear im NOT wiccan so my view will be tanted.I think gerald gardner would not be happy with his wicca today it has changed so much, and it has got softer.fluffy bunny comes from hard core wiccans in covens. But insulting some because of the path they follow is wrong.
What I see a lot of are the Silver Ravenwolf haters or "teenagers cannot be serious about the religion". I ask what is wrong with Silver's books? So she doesn't only use words that are 20 or more letters long. It doesn't make her view any less valid. Personally my very first book was Celtic magic by D.J. Conway. Also, if the teens don'y learn, what happens? The knowledge dies with us.Theay are the next generation afterall.I agree there is too much attacking within.
More to the point, Ravenwolf has some questionable claims and suggestions in her book, for example claiming that Satanists don't have a claim to the title of "witch," depicting Christians as evil villains who persecuted the poor Pagans but making no mention of the barbarism Pagans made against Christians, suggesting that teenagers practice Witchcraft behind their parents back. The list goes on. Google "Wicca For the Rest of Us" and find the essay "Why We Despise Silver Ravenwolf" for more.
I did not and would not say that teenagers are incapable of being serious about religion. I would however say that most of the people who turn religion into a joke are teenagers, although plenty of adults do too (e.g. Laurie Cabot). As for Silver, she sells religion in a box, as it were. How many more Wicca 101 books do we need? Her books are 90% spells and 10% watered-down Wicca. They teach how to go through the motions but doesn't bother to say why. Lighting a candle is not witchery.
I would pick up one of Silver's books before throwing out those statistics, Nacht. I agree that she makes some rash claims, but her books are extremely informational. How to Ride a Silver Broomstick has maybe....5-7 spells in it. The rest? Information. For you and everyone who reads this: Don't follow one person's article/essay/book blindly, research and form your own opinions.
I have read a few of her books, I'm not an idiot. And besides, those essays (the site I mentioned is hardly the only one to provide essays tearing Silver down) provides actual passages, long ones, from her books. Her books are bad. Sure, they might have some factual information in them, but the bad outweighs the good in Silver's case. There are books out there that give good information without all the fluff and questionable content.
Why buy a shit book with a little factual information when there are books out there chock full of factual information and which do not encourage children to lie to their parents and hate Christians? Does that not strike a chord with you? Do you not find it wrong when an author encourages children to lie and condones bigotry against Christians?
@NachtPhoenix No offense, but are you saying that readers of Silvers books never research what the "why" is? I am smiling because that is precisely what I do. :)
I'm afraid you've got it all wrong, dude. "Fluffy bunny" is not meant to be a term applied to people who can disagree with maturity or to newbies who have a genuine interest. The term is meant to be applied to people, usually teenagers, who remain willfully ignorant. For example, they might exclaim "Wicca is the oldest religion," and cite "Ravenwolf says so" as their only proof, and spit in the face of the people who try to give them the facts.
Or they might, as someone else pointed out, be interested in Wicca merely for shock value or to be "cool." I wouldn't call you a fluffy, Salix, but someone mislabeling you with the term does not invalidate the term itself. Google "Wicca For the Rest of Us." The website in question has the most accurate, expanded definition of a fluffy bunny that I have yet come across.
Oh i can definitely see where you are coming from and your right. But ever since i started to educate myself on the craft i have heard plenty of interpretations from all around the world and from different cultures and societies. Im not saying your interpretation is wrong, it is just added to a file for the phrase "fluffy bunny". Thanks for the comment!

There's a difference between being new to the Craft, and claiming your Wiccan when you've read one Silver Ravenwolf book and automatically claim to be a Wiccan.
I really hate the term "fluffy bunny." I hate to seem like a hypocrite, but usually people who claims someone is a fluffy bunny, is a fluffy bunny themselves.
I personally think that a true devoted follower of the Craft wouldn't look down upon someone for their knowledge, and would rather direct "fluffy bunnies" in the right direction.
#3 Though not wiccan, the reason I post is because I do "keep in touch" with other wiccans through online forums and such, and I do, in my real life, keep in touch with pagans, not always necessarily wiccans. I personally follow no specific path, but my own path is very strongly influenced by Wicca, more so than any other religion, and could be termed neo pagan. Thus, I don't think my commenting is too totally out of the blue.
#2 I have heard, though have not thoroughly researched, that some prefer the term "neo wicca" for those not practicing a more traditional form of Wicca. I also think that "fluffy" is thrown around alot to prove authority over another person. If insulted, think of who called you fluffy, what are their actions, and what are you're actions. If you are disagreeing on a trivial point (candle color), chance of fluffy is low. if you are arguing on a major tenet of Wicca, do some research.
#1 I thought fluffy was one who didn't further their knowledge, or are Wiccan only for attention. Example: your workplace has mostly evangelical christians, yet you wear a huge pentacle. There's nothing wrong with being new or "closeted". But there's no need to advertise in unwelcome places, or be willfully ignorant. people going against the basic definitions of Wicca seems to get termed fluffy too."its all light and NO DARK." or " wicca has survived from prechristian times"
Wicca is a new form of Witchcraft There are new Elements and Old and Pagan itself is an OLD term.... there is Paleo-Pagan ( Our ancestors) Neo-Pagan ( Us Today) Neo Pagan are the religions that came from the 50s-Now that are called Pagan. Remember Wicca is 50+yrs old so it is Neo Pagan That is best to my knowledge if it is in correct someone can correct me.
I have never undergone a formal initiation ceremony, not one. I do however feel that I have been initiated, I can actually lable the exact moment I feel I was. But there are some who would call me a fluffy because this experience was not in a coven, nor done by another. I think initiation is overrated. If Wicca is truely a mystic religion, then it's members should be concerned with turning inward and joining with the Unity of the Universe, and not worrying about who did what in what ceremony.
i totally agree with you with the whole having to go through so much just to practice your religion and get to the point you wanna get too. I wanted to get initiated in a coven when i was 16 i am now 20 and i am finally up for initiation in january in a different coven.Along the way i was called that soo many times because i was young but i knew lots more unfortunately than the other student who were in their 20s.You have more dedication than some wiccans i know
dont even get me started on covens.how are we not real wiccans cuz we are solitary.who initiated the first wiccan?and if they were not initiated themselves that does not make them a real wiccan or high preist to go and initiate anyone else and there you have it. then none of them are real wiccans and wicca does not exist.foolish people i tell you
you become a wiccan in your heart. initiations are not important. enter the old religion with a perfect trust and perfect love is whats make you a wiccan.
Initiation is nothing more then man made laws. I guarantee pagans were pagans because of the way they lived Not a bunch of initiates in a coven.Look at all the different paths of Wicca; Gardnarian, Alexandrian, Dianic. So which one is right? LOL! If your too hippie or too goth your a fluffy. Folks should just worry about themselves! Not what others are doing.
Sadly Joe there are many self-hating Wiccans/Pagnas.This is one of the reasons I veared away from Wicca(I have nothing against Wiccans at all)But It's some of the Hippocrates within the community that aggravate me.
I agree with you as well. There's way too much intolerance and bashing within the pagan community. It's very sad to see. We as a community are becoming that which we sought to get away from. I think it's very hypocritical of us as pagans to stand in judgement of each other when we're supposed to be about openness and free-thinking.
I totally, agree I mean I would like to join a coven but thats only to connect with other pagans and wiccans. I am a solitary practitioner and I've read many many books. I personally like the first fluffy bunny definition you gave. It reminds me of me lol
I've just watched this on google vids (can't watch vids on youtube now) and it's one of the best I've seen. The idea that you can't be a Wiccan if you aren't initiated is the opposite of the religious views of people who follow a religion claimed to be less accepting of others than Wicca claims to be... in much Christian thought, you are a Christian if you believe in Jesus in your heart and that he died for us, even if you're not baptised/confirmed
The initiation requirement is based on Gardnerian Wicca, from which the religion originated. BTW teaches that one can only be Wiccan if initiated. However, eclectic and non-Gard-lineage Trads do not necessarily hold this requirement.
Set aside your woes and let the will of your desires be. And as 'real wytches say' the true Initiation comes form the Elder Gods not the hand of man. So all the intiated wiccans outthere that use this as a ploy, only have that, the initiation of man.
I don't necessarily feel that "fluffy bunny" is a bad label in it's proper context, which is applied to willfully ignorant people. It's when it's used as a blanket derogatory term for new folks that there is a problem.
I disagree Wiccan - I think insulting people is bad in and of its self, though I am of course guilty of having done that at times. To paraphrase a great man: 'In the process of defending Wicca from those who would water it down into meaning nothing, we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds... let us not seek to satisfy our thirst to be accepted by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred'
I don't find calling a spade a spade to be insulting. Now, it should be used sparingly and rarely. I've never used it directly at a person. However, I have used the term as a reference to certain types of behavior, which I feel is perfectly appropriate. It is neither bitter nor hatred.
I agree with everything that you say. Although I'm not Wiccan any longer after 5 yrs. of practice, ( Now Vodoun (voodoo) )I respect the Wiccan faith and I don't see anything wrong with fluffy bunnies. These labelers are just low lifes who think there shit don't stank! hahaha! Seriously...people are jackasses. And your a hotty! Keep up the good work!
Good Video ! Many Wiccan's start out not knowing much about what they are doing. But if they are serious they eventually learn. We all should respect each other as individuals who are all at different stages and on different paths. I say:'More power to the fluffy bunnies!' BLESSED BE )o( By the way if you don't know what 'Blessed Be' means then reserch it and you will see that this guy knows what he's talking about.

ok, usually the terms "fluffy, fluffy bunny, fluff bun, fluff tard, and fluff nugget" are used to describe "Wiccans" who will not accept fact over the opinions either they or their favorite fluffy author (Example Silver Ravenwolf) have concocted. an example of this would be, a person who claims to be a Alexandrian Wiccan, yet has not been initiated, and will not accept that though they follow the path's belief system, they still are not a member of said Tradition.

I struggle to believe that this world is a lovely place because there is war, suffering, dying, rape etc.
gdchet 2 months ago
@gdchet The second thing is that fluffy objects don't have clear boundries/edges. In fluffies we notice that often their knowledge of the craft is based on academic conjecture and fantasy-representations of craft. That is great if like a Chaos magician they accept that it is not fact and use it to practice ritual technique rather than to devote their lives to.
Also they often deny Monotheistic religions and "high magic" without realizing that magic was born from this!
gdchet 2 months ago
@gdchet People who consider me pagan often compare me to fluffies why should I have to be associated with someone that makes me look like I live in a fantasy world and don't know anything.
gdchet 2 months ago
to me, "fluffy" just means that you think you are an expert on something because you have looked at a couple of websites and you really have a shit load to learn. i have been Wiccan for almost two years now (self-initiated for eleven months now), and i know that i have a lot to learn. i hate when people call others "fluffy" because they don't do sacrifices. that's not fluffy, that's true paganism. "An HARM NONE, do what ye will."
eaturspiders 5 months ago
My take on 'fluffy' has always been someone who wants the identity but does not want to take the time to learn. Newbies are not necessarily fluffy. 'Proper' ritual clothes or lack of initiation or lack of a coven does not make a person fluffy. Its the willful decision-not- to take the time to learn that makes 1 fluffy.
Theiasember 5 months ago

TheStarfkr 7 months ago
*Fluff Bunnies* are "Wiccans" who are ignorant of their own religion, who are ignorant of history, who deny the dark side of reality and of the goddess & god, and who are generally fantasy prone people with their heads in the clouds. The term "fluff bunnies" is used to imply they are weak and harmless. They have practically no power, magic wise, again because they deny the dark aspects of relaity and of the goddess & god. They are unbalanced people, basically.
TheStarfkr 7 months ago
"Those who are not initiated into a tradtional coven with a high priestess & priest aren't Wiccans"
This comes from Gardneria Tradition. They do not accept any form of self-initiation as Wicca was never meant for the masses. So yes, if you a solitary practitioner who has never been initiated into a tradition, more specifically Garnerian Tradition, then they refuse to accept you as a Wiccan.
TheStarfkr 7 months ago in playlist Wicca Sucks

(bear in mind, my ONLY mode of transportation is walking) a little city in south east idaho. there is a public circle for the full moon and new moon though like 2 miles away.
kagome1303 11 months ago
For the record, I don't think you're a fluffy bunny; the very fact that you're asking questions about it proves that you're not. I would recommend, however, reading Gerald Gardner and Doreen Valiente to get a better idea of what Wicca is about, instead of the newer, watered down stuff.
ChrisSuperstar 1 year ago
I do not consider myself Wiccan. I consider myself a Pagan Witch, who practices a traditional form of Witchcraft. I think if people had better education about the history of Witchcraft, many fewer would use the Wicca label.
ChrisSuperstar 1 year ago
My own definition of "fluffy bunny" would be somebody who thought everything was all "sweetness and light" and that Wicca is "whatever you want it to be." People who carry "harm none" (which is advice, and not a law) to ridiculous extremes would be another. I agree that there is much too much insulting going on in the Pagan world, but I also agree that the vast majority of people who think they're Wiccan are not. If you're not following Gardner or Valiente, you're not Wiccan.
ChrisSuperstar 1 year ago
People use the term "fluffy bunny" because they're tired of working for years to get initiated, and then come across someone who's read two books and decides that they're a "high priestess." As traditional Wicca is practiced in the nude, and includes sexual aspects, scourging (ritual flogging as a way to raise energy) and other sexual practices, allowing someone under the age of 18 to join isn't only a bad idea, it's probably illegal in most places.
ChrisSuperstar 1 year ago
It's not that Wiccans are hateful, it's just that it's a serious, adult, initiatory practice. People who claim you have to be initiated to be Wiccan aren't a modern phenomenon designed to oppress people. The idea that you can just "believe" something and be Wiccan is the new idea. It's possible to practice as a solitary, but it's difficult.
ChrisSuperstar 1 year ago

EndoraRhoswen 1 year ago
According to Traditionalist perspective Wicca is an initiatory coven-based lineage priesthood. The materials that are available to all of those not in a coven are considered outer court materials. Some Traditionalist are trying to take back the term of Wiccan, but even this term is different that it used to be. Women used to be called Wicce, I believe. I would say that those who follow the outer court materials are able to call themselves Neo-Wiccan according to Traditionalists.
EndoraRhoswen 1 year ago
I think that the reason that "fluffy bunny" is such an insult now is because it represents an unhealthy overemphasis on the "light" parts of the Craft. Fluffy bunnies reject all the dark parts of the world that are just as integral to existence as the light , and no matter what path you choose, if you focus too much on light, you just get a really long shadow that you're not equipped to deal with.
Mercuryvegetable 1 year ago
I agree! I feel there's so much hate, and even when there shouldn't
be. You should not Judge what you do not understand.
If someone's heart is wanting to follow the Pagan/Wicca path - but
they live in a town with no covens, That shouldn't restrict them from
following this beautiful path. DO NOT JUDGE WICCANS, that's not
us.

Solitary Witchcraft is the oldest form of wicca. So tell all those coven people to read a few books.
jdog43089 1 year ago
It can be hard to embrace the faith, but a faith doesn't have to be openly expressed. It really isn't something that is necessary to discuss unless the choice is made to disclose it. "Fluffy Bunny" is a term that came from "Wicca: For the Rest of Us." It is a website dedicated to the non-bs portion of Wicca, and if at the very least, provides a booklist that isn't filled with the misinformation that pervades the faith today.
SketchyTree 1 year ago
Wicca is not a good faith for anyone who has issues being openly sexual with other people. Wicca's sexual basis is also why Wicca does not initiate minors - and in fact refuses to even start teaching the basics to a person until they are 18. This is not open to interpretation or debate: it is a part of the laws of the Wica, which are known as the Ardanes.
lagrimas0scura 2 years ago
This is correct; though, we are not of the Wica, it is rather refreshing to see a person who knows what they are talking about. You seem like a person of a BTW coven.
sisryc3 1 year ago
Many people assume that means actual intercourse, but there are many levels of sexual activity - and indeed, a non-Wiccan would probably miss some of the sexual nature that Wiccan ritual contains (even in an outer-court situation), because it can be incredibly subtle, or easily overlooked if you're lacking the contextual knowledge initiates have.
lagrimas0scura 2 years ago
And naturally, fertility means sex. It's very difficult to have one without the other. Wicca does contain sexual context, and activity, within its' rites.
lagrimas0scura 2 years ago
Wicca is a fertility cult. It's not a Nature cult, or an 'earth-based' path. We don't worship Nature. We honour fertility! Fertility is one specific aspect of Nature; so while we may see and appreciate fertility reflected in the cycles of Nature.
lagrimas0scura 2 years ago
And finding an actual, lineaged coven (we'll talk about lineage later) can be a lot of work - travel, time, money, energy. And those sacrifices to attend a group are expected. It's considered normal. People who complain about not finding a coven in their area so they can learn properly, are typically looked at with some disdain, especially by those Wiccans who travel considerable lengths to their own covens.
lagrimas0scura 2 years ago
Solitary Wiccans really don't exist. You can have initiated Wiccans who are unable to practice with their covens: they moved, they're away, they got sick, etc. But what they do on their own is neo-pagan witchcraft, heavily flavoured by Wicca, performed by a Wiccan - it's not proper Wiccan practice.
lagrimas0scura 2 years ago
Wicca is:
an Orthopraxic, Oathbound, Initiatory, Mystery-based, Experiential, Coven-based, Fertility-focused, Dithesitic Witch-cult whose members are all Clergy within a Lineaged Tradition.
lagrimas0scura 2 years ago
True, such as the New Forest Coven. Though I feel kin in soul to New Forest, we are of a fam trad, however, we do have influences in common. I could be wrong, but are you of a BTW coven?
sisryc3 1 year ago
@sisryc3 , No I am not part of any coven, I am interested in witchcraft specifically Wicca. I guess the correct term for me would be a Wicca Seeker though I am open to any other traditions or path of witchcraft and I am more then willingly to learn their methods. I am still in search for whats right for me. :)
lagrimas0scura 1 year ago
Dude, take no notice of those who would set themselves higher and go out of their way to degrade or insult you. That is not what Wicca is about. Covens have their place and purpose, as do Hedgewitches and the uninitiated. Find your own path. Wicca is about self and your relationship with the God and Goddess. Blessed be.
Maihaithu 2 years ago
extremely good comment!
doriansnape 2 years ago
That has nothing to do with Wicca. Solitary practitioners only exist after they have reached 3rd degree and can do it by themselves and have the power to start their own covens. I say again as I have been saying since I became a member of youtube: Wicca is an orthopraxic mystery fertility cult. No more, no less. This is why you are a fluffy bunny because you have the audacity and ignorance and arrogance to don a title that you have not rightly earned!
TwistingWays 2 years ago
1:50 You must be referring to me! Haha. Yes, they can not be of the Wicca. And she was absolutely correct! If the Wiccan community ever tried to initiate anyone under the age of 18 they would be arrested! It is a fertility mystery cult. That means sex! That does not make them a fluffy bunny, no. They are made a fluffy bunny because they are ignorant. Fluffy Bunny is a term of Ignorance.
But that is what is happening. Do you know their names? The oathbound names of the Lord and Lady?
TwistingWays 2 years ago

They see someone--
TheAgentChaos 2 years ago
--who feels more comfortable in their skin than they do, and they feel threatened by it.
People who feel comfortable just being who they are, without having to be big, bad, know-it-alls, and sometimes are happy to experiment with things in ways the bad-asses would *never* have the courage to do themselves are often threatening.
What complicates things is that sometimes being comfortable to do things your own way sometimes *looks* like being too arrogant to listen to others,--
TheAgentChaos 2 years ago

Agreed. Fluffy bunny's are just those who think all is light and rainbows and butterflies, which just isn't the case. Religion aside, anyone who thinks that way is deluded. And the worst part is they want to think that way, about the only way they can change that behavior is to be "shocked" out of it.
Dracoa79 2 years ago
I would say that Fluffy Bunny is flung around WAY too much. It is someone who is all The Goddess doesn't hurt anyone she only gives life ETC. Or Nature is all good. Everything is Good that is PART of the Way to being Fluffy. So let's say that this is a Newbie saying this They aren't Fluffy YET!! They have to DENY the knowledge given them by someone more experienced that says Contrary, it is that unwillingness to see it any other way that makes one FLuffy. PT1
Rain4732 2 years ago 4
PT2 I would say that you should give that person a week or so to digest that though because you may find they will accept that The Goddess Kills as well ETC. That there is a contrast to the good stuff. I think Hexing or Cursing is NOT acceptable. Reflecting something back to someone I don't think is a curse, sometimes Attack is necissary in one's defense but it should ALWAYS be in your Defense other wise it is UNnecissary harm. I hope I have explained this well enough for people. Thanks BB

@Rain4732 What about not harming? SO you are saying if someone is against you you can hex them- as self defense? I'm confused now.
lookingup82 10 months ago
@lookingup82 Pt. 1 I am saying IF someone is attacking you by gossip NO magic Go about it everyother way and do NOT use Magic Against them but you could ask Truth to come to Light! IF you are being PHYSICALLY attacked and you happen to use Magic to hurt them Enough to Get away then that is ok. That is like using Martial Arts. IT is for your Protection to get out of that situation. That is ok to me... If Someone Magically Attacks Banish the Attack Heal all that need it.
Rain4732 10 months ago

PaHsia 2 years ago
The idea that one must be initiated to be a 'real' pagan is incomprehensible. I studied wicca for a year or so before gravitating towards druidry, but my ideas and opinions shouldn't carry any less weight because I have never been initiated into either a covern or a grove. I know far more solitaries of both faiths than I do members of a group.
PaHsia 2 years ago
but these are the things that we need to do and we should just do it without fear of punishment.
there is no such thing as a white witch and i think the community as a whole should start to embrace this concept because every spell you do is going to do a little bad to someone. and you cant live your life without hurting anything i mean you've gotta eat. there's always going to be a bit of hate in the community but hey we're only human.

i've never heard the term fluffy bunny used for someone thats new to the craft or someone thats misinformed i've only heard it used for someone that.. well a bit too peaceful. i think a lot of the time people use karma as an excuse to say "oh i did something bad in a past life and this is my punishment" instead of actually dealing with the problem. karma isn't the only law out there and we need to be able to put curses and hexes on people that bear us ill will an yes we will get bad karma for it
23bloodbath 2 years ago 2
Many in our religion have read volumes of fantasy posing as history, and accepted it as fact. It is embarrassing when they repeat this pseudo-history in the name of Wicca, especially in the presence of others who actually know history. I always advise people reading books by Conway, McCoy, etc to skip over the chapters on "history."
Hoolet2009 2 years ago
Of course there is such thing as fluffy bunny, and being one is not healthy spiritually. But let's not get too unrestrained in applying the term. A bunny is one who either has little knowledge, has incorrect knowledge, or has an "anything goes" attitude. In a way, anything DOES go, but that doesn't mean anything can be correctly labeled Wiccan. At some point, they cross the line from Wicca to some other form of witchcraft/paganism.
Hoolet2009 2 years ago

Such are questions well worth pondering.
jajohnson7809 2 years ago
That depends on your opinion and who you're asking. British Traditional Wiccans will tell you that in order to be a "real" Wiccan you have to be initiated into a Gardnerian or Alexandrian coven. The aim in being a coven member is to study under your High Priestess and be initiated into the First, Second, and Third Degrees - as a Third Degree initiate, you are considered a High Priest or Priestess yourself.

NachtPhoenix 2 years ago 2
It is important to distinguish between being "better than" and having more experience. We all have to start somewhere. We are all children of the Gods and are all capable of having a close, direct relationship with them, with or without a Priest/ess' help.
NachtPhoenix 2 years ago
The rule most covens have about having to be 18 is, unfortunately, necessary. It is primarily about liability, though it can be good for younger people - perhaps give them a chance to do some studying before they join a coven.

I dont like the word fluffy bunny,as nature works in diffrent ways for diffrent people.
timelesstree 2 years ago
Too right it does, but not every naturalistic belief is Wiccan. "Not Wiccan" does not mean "bad," it just means not Wiccan. And claims like "Wicca is prehistoric" are pretty damn fluffy. There's nothing wrong with correcting someone when they get their facts wrong.

I dont like the use of fluffy bunny,as nature works in diffrent ways for diffrent people,i Also dont feel that structure is that important within magic.

I dont like the use of fluffy bunny, and would never call anybody a fluffy bunny. What ever you pratice is up to you.Nature works in diffrent ways for diffrent people.I dont think structure is that important.Just my view.
timelesstree 2 years ago
Hi I going to make this very clear im NOT wiccan so my view will be tanted.I think gerald gardner would not be happy with his wicca today it has changed so much, and it has got softer.fluffy bunny comes from hard core wiccans in covens. But insulting some because of the path they follow is wrong.
timelesstree 2 years ago
What I see a lot of are the Silver Ravenwolf haters or "teenagers cannot be serious about the religion". I ask what is wrong with Silver's books? So she doesn't only use words that are 20 or more letters long. It doesn't make her view any less valid. Personally my very first book was Celtic magic by D.J. Conway. Also, if the teens don'y learn, what happens? The knowledge dies with us.Theay are the next generation afterall.I agree there is too much attacking within.
Tinyoak2 3 years ago
More to the point, Ravenwolf has some questionable claims and suggestions in her book, for example claiming that Satanists don't have a claim to the title of "witch," depicting Christians as evil villains who persecuted the poor Pagans but making no mention of the barbarism Pagans made against Christians, suggesting that teenagers practice Witchcraft behind their parents back. The list goes on. Google "Wicca For the Rest of Us" and find the essay "Why We Despise Silver Ravenwolf" for more.
NachtPhoenix 3 years ago
I did not and would not say that teenagers are incapable of being serious about religion. I would however say that most of the people who turn religion into a joke are teenagers, although plenty of adults do too (e.g. Laurie Cabot). As for Silver, she sells religion in a box, as it were. How many more Wicca 101 books do we need? Her books are 90% spells and 10% watered-down Wicca. They teach how to go through the motions but doesn't bother to say why. Lighting a candle is not witchery.
NachtPhoenix 3 years ago
I would pick up one of Silver's books before throwing out those statistics, Nacht. I agree that she makes some rash claims, but her books are extremely informational. How to Ride a Silver Broomstick has maybe....5-7 spells in it. The rest? Information. For you and everyone who reads this: Don't follow one person's article/essay/book blindly, research and form your own opinions.
AnthonyBee88 2 years ago
I have read a few of her books, I'm not an idiot. And besides, those essays (the site I mentioned is hardly the only one to provide essays tearing Silver down) provides actual passages, long ones, from her books. Her books are bad. Sure, they might have some factual information in them, but the bad outweighs the good in Silver's case. There are books out there that give good information without all the fluff and questionable content.
NachtPhoenix 2 years ago
Why buy a shit book with a little factual information when there are books out there chock full of factual information and which do not encourage children to lie to their parents and hate Christians? Does that not strike a chord with you? Do you not find it wrong when an author encourages children to lie and condones bigotry against Christians?
NachtPhoenix 2 years ago
@NachtPhoenix No offense, but are you saying that readers of Silvers books never research what the "why" is? I am smiling because that is precisely what I do. :)
safehouse123 1 year ago
I'm afraid you've got it all wrong, dude. "Fluffy bunny" is not meant to be a term applied to people who can disagree with maturity or to newbies who have a genuine interest. The term is meant to be applied to people, usually teenagers, who remain willfully ignorant. For example, they might exclaim "Wicca is the oldest religion," and cite "Ravenwolf says so" as their only proof, and spit in the face of the people who try to give them the facts.
NachtPhoenix 3 years ago
Or they might, as someone else pointed out, be interested in Wicca merely for shock value or to be "cool." I wouldn't call you a fluffy, Salix, but someone mislabeling you with the term does not invalidate the term itself. Google "Wicca For the Rest of Us." The website in question has the most accurate, expanded definition of a fluffy bunny that I have yet come across.
NachtPhoenix 3 years ago

This is the first I have heard of Fluffy Bunnies... I always thought bunnies were so cute and adorable..
Something soft and cuddly... Times do change, huh?
Anywho, Thanks for shedding this light!

Thanks for putting up with three comments!
treetopInsanity 3 years ago
#2 I have heard, though have not thoroughly researched, that some prefer the term "neo wicca" for those not practicing a more traditional form of Wicca. I also think that "fluffy" is thrown around alot to prove authority over another person. If insulted, think of who called you fluffy, what are their actions, and what are you're actions. If you are disagreeing on a trivial point (candle color), chance of fluffy is low. if you are arguing on a major tenet of Wicca, do some research.
treetopInsanity 3 years ago
You are correct, my man/woman.
NachtPhoenix 3 years ago
#1 I thought fluffy was one who didn't further their knowledge, or are Wiccan only for attention. Example: your workplace has mostly evangelical christians, yet you wear a huge pentacle. There's nothing wrong with being new or "closeted". But there's no need to advertise in unwelcome places, or be willfully ignorant. people going against the basic definitions of Wicca seems to get termed fluffy too."its all light and NO DARK." or " wicca has survived from prechristian times"

correct me if im wrong (wich i very well might be lol) wicca is new pagan is old, or the some of what pagans believe?
just wanna have my facts stright :)

Part two! :
Initiation is nothing more then man made laws. I guarantee pagans were pagans because of the way they lived Not a bunch of initiates in a coven.Look at all the different paths of Wicca; Gardnarian, Alexandrian, Dianic. So which one is right? LOL! If your too hippie or too goth your a fluffy. Folks should just worry about themselves! Not what others are doing.
RivaWitch 3 years ago
Sadly Joe there are many self-hating Wiccans/Pagnas.This is one of the reasons I veared away from Wicca(I have nothing against Wiccans at all)But It's some of the Hippocrates within the community that aggravate me.
RivaWitch 3 years ago 2
I agree with you as well. There's way too much intolerance and bashing within the pagan community. It's very sad to see. We as a community are becoming that which we sought to get away from. I think it's very hypocritical of us as pagans to stand in judgement of each other when we're supposed to be about openness and free-thinking.
micki2013 3 years ago 9
I agree with you completely I have seen a lot of that in the pagan and Wiccan community myself.
jamesesitton2nd 3 years ago 2
I totally, agree I mean I would like to join a coven but thats only to connect with other pagans and wiccans. I am a solitary practitioner and I've read many many books. I personally like the first fluffy bunny definition you gave. It reminds me of me lol
lilvixenchica 3 years ago
I've just watched this on google vids (can't watch vids on youtube now) and it's one of the best I've seen. The idea that you can't be a Wiccan if you aren't initiated is the opposite of the religious views of people who follow a religion claimed to be less accepting of others than Wicca claims to be... in much Christian thought, you are a Christian if you believe in Jesus in your heart and that he died for us, even if you're not baptised/confirmed
Superapplefrog 3 years ago
The initiation requirement is based on Gardnerian Wicca, from which the religion originated. BTW teaches that one can only be Wiccan if initiated. However, eclectic and non-Gard-lineage Trads do not necessarily hold this requirement.
WiccanTexan 3 years ago
I would not even worry about it if I was you.

WiccanTexan 3 years ago
I disagree Wiccan - I think insulting people is bad in and of its self, though I am of course guilty of having done that at times. To paraphrase a great man: 'In the process of defending Wicca from those who would water it down into meaning nothing, we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds... let us not seek to satisfy our thirst to be accepted by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred'
Superapplefrog 3 years ago 4
I don't find calling a spade a spade to be insulting. Now, it should be used sparingly and rarely. I've never used it directly at a person. However, I have used the term as a reference to certain types of behavior, which I feel is perfectly appropriate. It is neither bitter nor hatred.
WiccanTexan 3 years ago
I agree with everything that you say. Although I'm not Wiccan any longer after 5 yrs. of practice, ( Now Vodoun (voodoo) )I respect the Wiccan faith and I don't see anything wrong with fluffy bunnies. These labelers are just low lifes who think there shit don't stank! hahaha! Seriously...people are jackasses. And your a hotty! Keep up the good work!
earthboundwitch89 3 years ago 2
Good Video ! Many Wiccan's start out not knowing much about what they are doing. But if they are serious they eventually learn. We all should respect each other as individuals who are all at different stages and on different paths. I say:'More power to the fluffy bunnies!' BLESSED BE )o( By the way if you don't know what 'Blessed Be' means then reserch it and you will see that this guy knows what he's talking about.
