he could have chosen a million solutions to this problem. chose a better mic, positioned the speakers better, turned down the gain and put up the volume, notched the frequency, notched the monitor, paid attention, rode the level, checked the mic before hand, figure out how to make it work, or quit and let someone else get paid to do it right.

Here's what's going on:

Because Boeheim is speaking so softly, the audio tech is trying to raise the gain on the mic (turn it up). When coach raises his voice to a normal level, you get the over-modulation feedback.

Don't blame the mic. Boeheim needs to speak louder.
