Great review and thoughts on Wheat. It looks great. Glad to compared it to Painterly. I was wondering if it would be better preventing creasing, now I know. :◊)
Gorgeous look in this video, Gina! (If I were willing to wear lip stuff that isn't of the Colorstay/Lipfinitiy/etc variety, I'd buy this one based on how it looks on you! Definitely going to look at the Michael Todd Apricot now, though!) Would you do a tutorial on this eye look? Love it.
Oh, and ps - re Ben Nye: bought it in NYC at Ricky's. Don't know if they exist in Nebraska, though!
I agree with you GinaB! I got mine b/c of LisaLisa-she advised due to crepiness. I got 3 of 'em discounted... (I'll find the ticket if anyone needs to know) I think I pd $10-12 /pc. I have linen here close so was checking, no peachy in it but still covers discolration 99%. Now, I almost always follow w/cream e/s from ELF as a base(totally sticky but 0 fallout) I tested LM against Tarte's w/firmatrol to see the diff. LM all the way! It's my HG primer with or without a base on top-fabulous!
gina, what's happened to your videos? the sound looks out of sync to me and it's got some kind of lag on it. if you've already addressed this, sorry :)
it's just that it's only your video that's doing it - everyone else is fine.
@roxysimmons i've not addressed it as in told anyone (aware of it) but i'm trying to figure out why its happening! aaack! it looks normal b4 i upload to yt and never had this issue b4, but it is a new camera so.. eep!
Yep I told you guys that was the bestest eyeshadow primer in the world, and nobody believed me, and there you go. I have used it for 2 and a half years now, and I will not budge from it. Primer potion never gave me any kicks, and I could never figure out what in hell the hype was all about. Unless you put powder over it or a light eyeshadow, none of your colors ever blend properly. Poopy stuff if you ask me:) Love your look Gina, eyes and lips look stunning:)
This right now is my hg e/s primer. I pass over my benefit, udpp, tfsi & paint pots all the time. I like paint pots, but have to prime with them so this kills two birds with one stone for me. My cousin uses one from Chanel and she says it blows the lm out of the water.... I'm not sure how it could, but I am going to check it out.
Thanks for this video, you are always very informative. I have been pondering on getting a MAC paint pot but i was still not sure as my eye lids are very very oily.
Your hair oozes fall. I love the color and the way you have it styled in this video. It seems a tad darker with some coppery/warm hilites?? Very pretty.
If anyone's interested the Laura Mercier Eye Basics (most shades- including Wheat) are only $9.99 (normally $24) on allcosmeticswholesale. com !! I alwaysss purchase it from there and it's amaaazing! :)
Thank you sooo much for this review!! My eye area is a lot darker than my skin tone, and I've been looking for a more opaque shadow primer for a couple months! Thanks for the recommendation! I'm def picking one up on my next Sephora trip! :)
I have found out my painterly only works with my Mac shadows. No creasing at all!!! My UD primer potion only works with the UD shadows. So that leaves me with no primer for my other shadows. I'll give this a try. Have you tried Bare Minerals primer?
I've really enjoyed this as well. It gives a nice warmth to my shadows. I swatched the Eye Bright color on my hand at Sephora and tried several shadows on top. I really like it too. I had some other things on my list that day but I'll be purchasing this one soon.
Love your eye make up and LM makes great productsWhen you reach my age a primer isn't enough to help the eye lids. They becone so crepey they resemble mini blinds.LOL The plus is my thick glasses cover them up.Haha xoxo Cathy
Paint Pots do not work for me at all. It literally made my eye crease in two minutes. I have been wanting someone to do a review on this. Thank you Gina
LOL. I can't stop shopping. Thanks for the ebay tip. I just got the giant size of UD primer potion. If I ever run out Wheat is next on my list. Or maybe I will just gift myself next month :). Great review! :))
I SO know what you mean... I still use my painterly paint pot because I love how its totally mutes out the discoloration on my eyes and covers the veins, but it I'm being honest, it sucks as a base/primer. I ALWAYS end up having creasing... I may have to give the LM a try.
Great review. I bought this base about a month ago after hearing you and LisaLisaD talk about it so much. I don't have Painterly so this seemed like the great product to try. I also love the color and the way it applies to the lid. It's so smooth! :)
I definitely need to try that primer out because the udpp and the TFSI both crease on me after like 6 hours:( Do they have a color that is lighter than wheat and more yellow toned like udpp in eden? Love your eye look btw
@EasyAccessBeauty oh oh! I think there's one called linen that's lighter, but not sure about yellow tones to it.. there's cotton which is pale yellow-ish.. flax and linen are lighter, too I believe. :)
Gina, I am 59 and have always had oily eyelids. I have been around long enough to try them all! This primer is the best to me. I NEVER have creasing with it. I can wear any type shadow and it is there to stay. Nothing has ever done that. Thanks
Stop making short videos!!!!!!!! Urban decay primer potion does not work for me at all. I’m going to try the laura Mercier, I have a sample. What about Stay don’t stray, have you tried it, what do you think?
@TheMoultonj lmao oh no!! you certainly don't want to see longer vids of me?! I have a haul coming up soon.. that'll be longer ;cD I've not tried stay don't stray yet.
@justarollercoaster ahh i've not tried the nars one! vanewpc reviewed it and liked it, just thought it wasn't anything better than UD primer potion. we have similar tastes so it left my mind. xox!
Hi Gina, I have got to try this. I remember LisaLisaD1 saying that she likes this the best. (Isn't Lisa precious). I couldn't figure out what was causing my eyelids to looked kind of aged after putting shadow on then I heard her say that the UD primer caused hers to look like that so I was like "thats it". Since I don't have a shop anywhere around me that sells the LM I am going to have to order online. Thanks for this review. :D
@hanna72861 ahh YES! the urban decay one can do that and also the michael todd one I've recently tried. def try ebay first! I know debbick1 got hers for $8 and they're the real deal
Just noticed this video and thanks for
