I love this song almost as much as Peters The Singer has died but the Song still remains - i am still looking for it on You Tube. I love Peters voice & his electric violin playing which we don't hear on this particular track....Love it. Met Peter
before he was in Steeleye Span & love him! ....he turned me on to the Bruch Violin concerto & I wish I had met his dad - get the feeling he was one of those great men (from the previous comment!)
Peter is a sound bloke, i love this song. his dad Frank was the most down to earth person i have had the pleasure to meet, Peter, im glad i met you in Hastings. keep up the great music
This is among the the most moving songs I've ever heard, and most every time I hear it my eyes just leak spontaneously, can't help it. But if music doesn't move me why bother to partake at all?.......
This is one of the most moving songs ever written and I Iove Peter Knight's voice more than any other, making this one of the greatest creations of mankind.

I owe so much to Steeleye Span they have shown me what it is to be English, something no one else remembers.

Great! And check out Hollies' version, featuring Allan Clarke on vocals, recorded during the reunion with Graham Nash in 1983.
