I'm not excusing anything they may do, but their success is due to giving the majority of people what they want. I'm also all for educating people on what these bad things may be, so that they can make informed purchasing decisions, like intelligent adults. I love what Morgan Spurlock achieved in this fashion with Supersize Me and would welcome it with supermarkets.
Tesco reasonably priced? You are joking right? What is wrong with it is that by plonking a Tesco there within 6 months the 'convienience' of Tesco will have managed to close out pretty much every other grocery related small business in the local area, which is pretty much what they're doing everywhere else... There is a city centre in the north of the UK where there is almost literally a Tesco on every other street corner. It has destroyed independent business.
