He was trying to do a combination of alot of things. First he was not happy that cotto said that Cotto was more powerful then him and that he could not take a real true welterweights punch. He also wanted to silence Cotto fans for saying he could never take a body punch from Cotto and wilt like he did when he was younger got KO'ed by a body punch. Next he knew he was ahead and dominating so he took breathers a few rounds to give Cotto a chance to fight and make the fans happy. I fear for PBF!!!!

It was brilliant strategy from Freddie Roach and Pacman absorbing Cotto's punches and Pacman to pretend it did not hurt, it is more like mental game plan and eventually lead Cottto to engage Pacman and for him to get the opportunity to release the straight deadly left of Pacquiao. It is very hard to get into Cotto's Peek a boo defense. It was I think Plan B, because if Cotto decided to counter punch, it will be more harder for Pacquiao to hit Cotto.

When he was at the ropes, he was acting/asking cotto to punch more. at the same time he was charging/breathing, then he turns his opponent to execute his own assaults. that's wat i saw. I watched the fight again and I just couldn't believe it at first that Manny was pushing back Miguel. What's more amazing is that he knocked Miguel down at the earlier rounds. Margarito had plaster in his gloves and he never knocked Miguel down. Miguel just took a knee. Floyd has no choice, but to fight Pacquiao. He can't duck him like he ducked Mosley. Floyd cannot beat someone who is faster and stronger than him. All he has is defense which will not win points.
