Beautiful place, beautiful and deadly, whereabouts is this? Excellent helmsmanship by the way, someone knows how to read the sea! There is something unique about the North Sea, I don't know what it is, but it has a feeling all of its own.
i am going to the northsea february to some time in marsh. it will be my first time and i look forwar to it! :) but ofcourse, those waves sure are pretty scary!
nice! it really looks fantastic! i am going to a "sailorschool" in Bergen, and i am going to be tranee on an ahts vessel which goes in the northsea. i am having my first trip this winter, really look forward to it :-)
Awesome, its the only word. One of my favourite videos here. I used to work the North Sea and agree that this is common weather in winter (summer, spring and autumn too, right enough). Its the only part of the job I miss, seeing the big winter storms.
I work 100 miles north east of Shetland on the Tern Alpha platform, these seas are pretty normal for the winter as i am sure the poster will testify to. All part of the fun :)
I really miss the sea when I watch this clip, I am from Sweden but live in Belgium so I havent seen the sea so much, but i have applied for Marine Engineer starting in August 2010, will be nice to get out at sea and see the bow smashing the waves. Great movie and well done, good music choice too, Great job!

i admit i would never spearfish in this weather and definately wouldnt be out in a runabout. all these big sea videos blow me away. just a stupid imagination.
im pretty sure this is the ship i shot past in my 15 hp runabout but i looked and didnt see me passing . close call thou and sure they were surprised to see me cross in front of them. Was coming home from a spearfish session.
Spearfishing in the North Sea??? What do you spearfish out side Scotland? And another thing, why do you chalange a big merchant ship in your dinghy? Thats just crazy! CRAZY! A small craft is very hard to see in chubby seas. And if there is a collision ho do you think will hurt most?
And they thought I was crazy for going into the submarine service...lol.
What a beautiful ship to be able to handle this punishment. Thanks to Captain and crew for bringing us the oil that we use every day in our lives. Much appreciated.
should of faced side on to the elements now that would be an intense video

A slow-motion rollercoaster. The art of a good master or helmsman is to position his vessel correctly in a raging gale.
