  • @Excellence2012 then it wouldnt cool worth crap lol. i just went and bought a hgh cooler that runs at 1200rmp instead 0f like 6000 lol

  • @trent1234108

you can still swap fans only buy ^ ^ Otherwise, I have a question, how much power the CPU AMD X4 965?, and application starts up fast or slow to start but, 'How fast booting Windows 7?

  • yeah that's the sound I am hearing right now :(

but my new build uses the Be Quiet! dark rock advanced which is quieter than my case fans which are about 12db so its little more than a rustle of air.

oh and that's with my 955 overclocked to 4GHz and running at 100% load, while still keeping under 45C (around 27C when idle)

    its amazing!

  • @invisible0tom yep had to replace mine just started annoying me lol

  • sounds like if you fking stood right next to a running airplane..

also it sucks, doesn't cool shit.

  • @TheMovieIdiot mine actually did cool well. not as good the the noctua nh-h14 but thats a whole different catagory lol. i just got sick of the noise and wanted to OC a little, got up to 4.1-4.2 on air pretty stable without changing the voltage. even then it was still quitet

  • @iMacG3nerd much agreed.

  • yep i have the same , also that loud , an additionally theres something broken with my case or maybe the fan itself because at 6000 rpm everything shakes and makes much more noise , this sucks...

  • @mslasic1 i ought a noctue nh-d1. its silent and excellent cooling lol

  • @trent1234108 i have a same problem, tomorrow im getting a new coolermaster heatsink, my rpm goes up to 7300rpm with stock hsf!!!!!!!!

it's loud, i can barelly hear myself talking

  • @mslasic1 6000 RPM wth are u doing to ur fans?!!

  • @AyeemaWL

that the speed those stock fans are running. Some time ago i bouth a new one , cooler master not sure what model but its much bigger , runs at max 1600 rpm and is much much quiet and keeps the temp lower.

  • the stock cooler sucks lol

  • @MsDJFLIP t actually kept it at okay temps when i had it, but it wasn't worth the noise lol

  • @trent1234108 yea thats what i mean the jet engine that it sounds like :P

  • @MsDJFLIP well yeah lol. at first i was like whooo my cpu is turbo charged! lol

  • @trent1234108 lol that would be pretty SWEET!!!

  • @trent1234108 o and isn't that 850w PSU kinda overkill lol

  • @MsDJFLIP yeah but i had plans of at lease 2 5870s at the time. probably gona get 2 6870s this summer

  • @MsDJFLIP yeah but i had plans of at lease 2 5870s at the time. probably gona get 2 6870s this summer

  • you have to wonder if anyone tested this thing. They are like, ''no it's not too loud. HUh?! I said. HUh?'' This fan is crazy loud when you play a game.

  • @bean420man it was, but i dont think i was playing a game when i filmed it either, which is just rediculous

  • @trent1234108 now to find a replacement heatsink/fan. Just it should not take up a

RAM space, cause I only have 2 spaces and want to keep all 4Gb of it. Most aftermarket heatsink/fan combos are ridiculously huge.

  • @bean420man thats verry true, i have a noctua nh-d14. its huge and hangs over the ram slots but doesnt fill them. i ave corsair dominator so i just had to remove the fins off of two of them and it fits fine. still have all 8gb of ram installed.

  • yours is not loud compaired to mine watch?v=5bkkmceJ9DU

  • uuuhhh.. you have an nvidia card as video card so thats not a dragon platform. you need a radeon hd 4000 series but i guess you changed rig as of now xD

  • @massmurderer02 wellll my origional plan was to swap it out for a 5870 or two in the future. bu its held up just fina and performs better than the 5770 so i didnt se a need to swap it rite away. its from an older build

  • I have the same cpu with a stock cooler, and I gotta say, that thing easily drowns out my speaker volume while playing games. I also don't try to play games during summer unless I want to turn my room into a sauna.

  • @JaMoond LOL haha :)

  • In the BIOS you can set the speed of the CPU fan....atleast I can...my is a bit louder than usual...but thats stock CPU cooler....but I have it set to a lower speed to keep it quieter.

  • @ChrisHoyt ya i did that for a while, but i wanted maximum cooling also, mine wasn verry loud while not playing games for the most part unlessi was doing a lot at once then i t sped up.

  • i got the same, since yesterday. ITS SHIT! FUCKING LOUD! what the fuck?! i spend money on this shit and its killing my ears and my peace. my dualcore before it was NOT able to make ANY noise. wtf :S i call AMD A PIECE OF SHIT NOW!

  • @freakguitar1 you cant make a processor worthless just because the cooler is loud. if i remember correctly, the cooler works great, its just noisy.

  • @trent1234108 i never said, the cpu is not good. the fan is just a pure piece of shit. its not noisy, ITS FUCKING LOUD. end of story.

  • @freakguitar1 wel ya, believe me i know that lol

  • @trent1234108 yep, i am sure you are A LOT happier now. the cpu works great, nice performance boost. but mine made like 6000 rpm without getting any slower, so yeah.... what did you get now? i ordered a Noctua NH-U12P SE2 .

  • @freakguitar1 i got a noctua nh-d14, its a $80 cooler but man is it worth it. its completely silent always unless the side is off and your ear is rite next to it. and im running at 29c while typing this rite now, just checked the screen on my mobo. great performance, not to mension noctuas thermal paste works well.

  • @trent1234108 hahah i just received my 75$ Noctua, my friend uses it with a quadcore similar to mine and has 28° too. lets see how mine will be, i will put it in tomorrow after work :D SILENCE, OMG SILENCE!!! :D

  • @trent1234108

yep i just bought one of those too and i freaking love it. im running my 955BE @ 3.8Ghz with 1.5v and the cooler is on the ULNA (12dB) and cpu core is not even breaking 45c. Im looking forward to slapping it on my bulldozer cpu next year too. all we need is now is Noctua to start making gpu coolers and my 470 will be as silent as my cpu haha.

  • @prankmypants i agree, i think they had made some video card coolers befor but maybe im mistaken. but yes i love noctua, the absolute best air cooler iver ever used, f coarse i have the nh d14 so i have the big boy one lol but i have heard great performance about all the others as well.

  • @trent1234108

yeah i looked at the others but getting anything other than the nh-d14 would have left me curious. i got a new nzxt 80 plus gold psu that does 16dB and two 200mm fans on my haf 912 case that do 12dB and i have to say life is better now my pc makes alot less noise. the difference between 20dB and 16dB is quite substantial once you start getting everything down real low. i keep looking at the VF3000 for my gpu but it only goes down to 18dB so its not really quiet enough :P

  • @prankmypants the only thing noticable in my pc is my video card. ive held the fan still, ya i know its bad lol, but it was pretty much silent after that. i have a corsair hx850 modular 90% efficient. its only got 1 140mm or 1 120 mm fan in it bt its design allows for great airflow with verry little to no audible noise.

  • I've got the same cpu, time to change my cooler as well!

  • @jediacad seems to be a common symptom! let me know what you get and how it works! =]

  • The stock cooler on my 955 will only get like that if I turn all of my case fans off. Other than that it really isn't that loud. it keeps my cpu at around 44~46c under load.

  • @workensmart the stock coolers work great, i just found mine annoying. maybe i just got one in a bad batch i gues lol. i like my noctua that i have now tho because it keeps me in low 40- mid 30s under a load depending on how long

  • I can play any game, and the fan that comes with the CPU sounds like a helicopter taking off. I need a new one, quick!

  • @opalen903 then buy one my friend =] its worth silence to me

  • @trent1234108 Can you give any tips? I've got my eyes on the Noctua NH-U9B SE2. Is it any good?

  • Man I'd have never thought those phenom II fans are SO NOISY. Just got a 955 Black edition and the fan spins up to 6000+ rpms when under load. That's just crazy. Up until now my biggest concern with noise has been with video cards but this beats it hands down. I'm definitely going to buy a new one because the stock one simply sucks.

  • @varps44 although the stock one does cool pretty well the sound just drive me crazy as it does you. i got the noctua nd-d14 and under load is about 46c and still silent.

  • @trent1234108

I got AC Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 cooler and a 12cm case fan (Arctic F12). First of all, the heatsink is much bigger than that of the stock one. Also, the vent fins are much bigger, so it doesn't need to spin as fast to produce the same results, thus NO HELICOPTER NOISE. My cpu on idle is about 34C, under load some 40+C. My system only makes slight humming noise which comes from the case fan. I was able to reduce it by setting its speed in bios to 50%.

  • @varps44 sounds cool man. my idly is about 29c and 46c highest afte gaming for like 2-3 hours. the noctua nh-d14 has a 120mm and a 140mm fan on it. huge sink almost touches my side panel.

  • @varps44 lol just buy a new one, like mugen 2. you can overclock it to 3,5 ghz without hearing the cooler

  • I got Phenom x4 955, loud when Cod In-game. Maybe need to buy something.

  • @SiMYHREv2 i got the noctua nh-d14, i love it. silence is golden.

  • yea, i can barely hear your video over the noise of my own fan. same thing, 965 stock heatsink/fan. any suggesstions on a better one? one thats quiet but will keep the temps down?

  • @SocRgy9 ya the noctua hn-d14. its the niggest one from noctua and it totally silent. also drops summer temps about 10c and comes with some pretty good thermal paste. il extremely happy with mine.

  • mines also very very loud

  • @Rmbleachanime i got the noctua nh-d14, i love it. completely silent and the temps are up to 10c cooler during the summer

  • Noctua or Mugen 2?

  • @rukaras noctua nh-d14

  • @rukaras noctua is good, but costs double of the mugen 2 and is not really that much better

  • Call me mad if you like guys, but....I ve got the same cpu and I find this "jet engine" noise very cool!!! ;-)

  • @ArisVelouhiotis13R its whatever you like man. i love silence

  • Just built my PC with the same fan. Actually can't hear your video because mine is making such a din. The case fans help keep the revs down but they're noisy too.

  • @mothtv ya it just keeps gettng louder man. i replaced mine with the noctua nh-d14 and its the best thing i ever did. be careful if you buy one off newegg tho. there is something else you have to tytpe in after the normal page to get the one with the amd bracket i think. ill let you know on that.

  • Dude my 965 fan is just as loud. I complained to AMD and they send me a new one but it's just as noisy. Post me a message when you sort it, lemme know how it goes!

  • @kilvertm i just bought a new one, i ot the noctua nh-d14 and its just amazing. it comes with 2 rpm limiters to keep is silent but im not even usng either of those. plus it keeps it less than 40c even when its lke 80f in my room while playing bfbc2 or mw2. it works just amazingly and you dont even have to take out your mobo as long as your an amd user=] if you get one off newegg tho you have to type something in after the normal page for it. dont remember what it is. ill get back to you on that

  • Mine sounds even louder lmao, sounds scary when my pc is under load, but quiet as hell when sat doing nothing with C&Q enabled in the bios on 4. I also need to get a new one because it really does sound twice as loud as that when playing games after about 5 minutes as heat builds up.

  • @4RedDwarf3 mine is just loud all the time. havent decited what to get to replace it yet.... any ideas? particularly something black with blue led, ir just black.

  • @trent1234108 Actually i just found out its not my CPU fan. I opened my case up to add some new paste to the heatsink instead of that default gunk, then i noticed the noce was from my ATI 4850, which is strange, because i upgraded this PC but the 4850 is from my old build, i upgraded the CPU, memory, motherboard. Anyway i put my finger on the ATI fan and there was silence, this shocked me because the card wasnt this loud in my old setup, my old setup musta not pushed it to the max and this is.

  • @4RedDwarf3 So now im using the CCC to set the fan to low and using more cooling in the case to remove the hotair, it idles at 49c and load upto about 60c, but with the case side off it idles at 44c and 55c. The CPU fan is a lot quieter than i first thought, its not that loud at all since i turned it around and put more arctic paste on the die.

  • @4RedDwarf3 mine for the most part as well as my graphics card is the noise.if i pput my finger on the cpu fan it gets lots quiter then hold the graphics card and its completely silent. mine idles about 29C and max load aafter 12 1/2 ours on prime 95 is 63C but under gaming load as most people refer to as load it gets about 45C. the cooler works great. if i could get a silent one that works as good or even better i would be a verry happy man lol. thats with th case completely closed up as well.

  • I just had an dejavu.....mine sounds just like that.

  • ive seen others who have the same problem, probably getting te antec cpu cooler or corsair h50. if i wait a while probably watercooling
