@connvee3 I agree, this is an incredible piece. Did you know that there is a free extension called Auto Replay on the Chrome Web Store? (Just so you don't have to press replay again and again and again... ;) )
this music is so passionate and fits the scence its in perfectly. Never saw the film in cinemas but will deffinatly be getting it on dvd when it is released..... Now if you will excuse me i need tissue.. lots of it :,(
i read the book about 1 year ago leaving the last 70 pages because i wanted to watch this movie and be surprised with the ending. the movie was great! Jane Eyre is my new favourite movie (The Pride and Prejudice at the same place)
Dario Marianelli, you're AWESOME. can't wait to play it on the piano!
i love this movie so much, and the words that Rochester used was breath taking and romantic.anybody know other movies that are as likely compatible as this?
I wish! P&P (with Keira Knightley) is compatible in that it has lovely music and very artistic photography, but the story isn't quite so heart-wrenching.
Another beautiful piece of art! Just as story of Jane Eyre. I can´t help myself, this is the best movie version of J.E. And the music...oh how much I love the whole soundtrack. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!
Jane Eyre, no matter who portrays whom, no matter how it is done, will never fail to evoke such emotions in me. It is the story line which gives it such power, such depth and meaning. This music captures it perfectly, every morsel of pain, you can feel it when you listen, it's fantastic... It's divine, everything is so divine, it makes my heart soar just thinking about it... Ah :')
This movie breaks my heart every time i see it. I cry for sorrow when Jane and Rochester are parted :( and again when they are re-united! :) Such intense emotions this brings out it me a grown man and not a once-brooding Byronic youth that i once was. Its amazing the Transcendence of Art and its effect on one's life!
"Do you think, because I am poor, obscure, plain, and little, I am soulless and heartless? You think wrong! — I have as much soul as you — and full as much heart! And if God had gifted me with some beauty and much wealth, I should have made it as hard for you to leave me, as it is now for me to leave you."
Whomever it was that clicked dislike on this video must have done so by accident, after falling on their mouse, trying and failing to restrain themselves from succumbing to the throes of restrained passion this single track embodies. Note to self – give in!!
I'm sad. I used to listen to your soundtrack uploads on my MyTouch @ work, but now it won't play on mobile :( wonder if its my software update...*tear*
It's going to be a real shame if Marianelli's compositions are forgotten come awards season. I think his work on Jane Eyre is stronger than his work on Atonement.
@fatizoo1000 I loved the 2005 Pride & Prejudice--gorgeous, well thought-out, accurate--but Jane Eyre is just a different story. It's gloomier--it's Gothic, after all!--and more serious. There's more at stake than love and happiness, which, while I love Pride and Prejudice, is pretty much all that that story's about. Jane Eyre is about finding your place in the world, but not sacrificing what's right to do it. Yes, Jane Eyre was a good movie, but a bit short! (Sorry this is such a long comment!)
This was the piece used at the end when Jane comes back...I loved the movie so much that I put the soundtrack on my ipod and matched the songs to my favorite scenes. Now whenever I listen to this piece I can automatically reimagine the scene and hear "well awaken then."
Dario Marianelli was able to perfectly capture the magnetic attraction between Jane and Rochester... you can almost hear her fain attempts at resisting his seductive aura, and when the piece blossoms into the lushly romantic section around 3:08, oh God, what perfection
I saw this movie mostly because of Dario Marianelli. The Pride and Prejudice soundtrack is by far the best I've ever heard, and this one is also stunning.
@XioArquera Yes, Pride & Prejudice was where I first heard his music! Even without the music, though, the 2005 Pride & Prejudice was a terrific movie; I wish Joe Wright (the director) had taken on Jane Eyre, too... :/
@elleoneiram This film could totally have been great, at least in my opinion, if it were longer. It went way too quickly. Everything else was spot-on--the cast, the score, even the funky way of mixing the scenes up (it was different, but not altogether bad). All they needed was more time. :/
