  • have one of these little guys in my backyard. he lives under our shed XD

  • its a terrible leg-humping monster!

  • So cute <3

  • are they normally friendly? well not THAT friendly. like atleast won't run away like squirrels do

  • How cool.

  • any idea if they can be trained as pets?

  • love those big fuckin marmots

  • i hope he doesn't get cut in half by an invisible dome!

  • hope your hands smelled really nice after touching it. Woodchucks are the nastiest smelling critters ever.

  • This is great! Fat little fella... :)

  • The only problem is the little buddy may get lazy and lose some of his foraging skills because getting free food from humans is easier.

When animals don't have to expend energy to search for food they can become obese and develop health complications very quickly.

  • They are delicious

  • adorbale.. :d <3

  • ahhhhh

  • i have groundhogs! i really like them. i have a video of them standing up like a meerkat on my channel (not asking you to watch it or anything) i try to show them i don't want to hurt them cause i would like to pet them....

  • yeah i knew a kid who had one as a pet but it chewed everything in his house!

  • WoW, the ones in my yard will attack if you go near them

  • wow how did u get that close to it. I have one in my back yard. that runs from me

  • Wow.... every time I've crossed paths with one of these little guys they would hiss and try to bite me. I've had to shoot several of them because they kept digging holes under my house.

  • this ones nice but they are little bastards

  • i have one in my yard haha ^.^

  • How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

  • Isn't this a groundhog?

  • Woodchucks, rockchucks, gophers and ground hogs are all different names for the same critter

  • The Gopher and the Rock chuck are different, but the Woodchuck, the Groundhog and the Whistle pig are all the same.

  • SAME THING

  • wow amazingly tame =)

  • i think he shouldn't be this friendly, what if someone not so nice comes next time, or a dog or something. there are bad guys out there too. other than that, the cutest video ever!!

  • I wish. i have one..... very cute.

  • The video should be longer. More cute groundhog!

  • That guy had ZERO rabies... super sweet, but wild, not a pet. The park he lived in was full of friendly people to feed him and make friends.

  • was this a former pet? i would never expect a groundhog, especially a wild one to allow it to be handled

  • I wish the video was longer, it's so cute

  • It's nice to see people treating animals with love and respect for a chamge.

  • Yeah, I'm wondering if this is even in the USA? I know around here, he would have been eaten, or beat to death. Cute sweet things must be protected using violence, evil people understand nothing else!

  • So cute !!!

  • awesome.

    keep em as a pet!

  • i have a family of them in my yard, i pet him when he wasnt looking then he gave me a weird look and wobbled away like a four legged penguin

  • so damn adorable. we got one in my backyard. i wish i could pet him but he flees at the slightest noise

  • THAT

    IS

    AWESOME

    LOLOLOLOLOLLOLLOL

  • Would this remind anyone of the episode of "Gomer Pyle USMC" in which, he and his fellow Marines encounter a skunk? The skunk let Pyle pick it up and pet it. Sgt. Carter saw what was happening and was aghast. Seems the skunk took a liking to Gomer Pyle. But later the skunk had to go on it's own way.

  • OH MY GOODNESSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i want!!!

  • *Gives you a Big warm Hug* I give ya a Big warm groundhog hug pass it on! n_n

  • this is good shit

  • We have one that lives under the house, It eats everything we eat! I havent had nerve enough to pet it. but this makes me want too!!

  • wow, I'm shocked that it's so unafraid of everyone there...they seem to be very shy around here!

  • Makes me want to take him home!

  • I shot this in 1997 in Mont Royal Park in Montreal. There are myriads of tame animals there: pigeons, squirrels, chipmunks, and one very friendly woodchuck.

  • @bradchatellier At first I thought you ment you actually shot it I was like huh lol

  • Adorable! Just be careful because they can carry diseases, especially rabies

  • You've right, but if if they're carrying rabies, they would be really aggressive and bite everyone who trying to touch them. Hopefully this fellow didn't carry this very dangerous virus.

    Good video btw. Very sweet.

  • Not if it's in the early stages, and there are plenty of other nasty things you can catch too.

Although I'll admit I would find it hard to resist, how can you not love a little guy like that? :)

  • Yeah, really cute ^^,

  • was obviously raised by humans since or shortly after birth....Really quite neat seein that though!

  • That's great. I have only seen one that comfortable with humans before and that was on Pet Stars.

  • This this is absolutely adorable.
