I have a big doubt. I was looking for some audio editing programs to try to separate instruments and voices in tracks. Seeing all this 'power' of Melodyne, I wonder if this program can do what I'm looking for?
the new version of Meodyne, Melodyne Studio has the functionality your looking for. It all depends on how clear the audio is but Melodyne can now analyze a full stereo file and break it down into it's individual note elements. good for guitars, pianos, horns, strings but it might be a bit difficult to separate say a full stereo mix into it's individual instruments. You can find more info on their site Celemony(dot)com. Hope this helps.
Hi, definitely. The stand alone version of the Melodyne Editor can create harmonies but I'm not completely sure if the plugin version has that capability. The mayor difference between Melodyne Studio and the Melodyne Editor is the DNA (Direct NOte Access) technology which allows for more in depth analysis of a polyphonic wave form and it's individual note components. Other than that they have the same functionality.
icic thanx for the info i think ill ask melodyne if the plugin version has that capability to creat harmonies the thing tha suxs is i just had a brain injury so everything i knew befor is lke wiped away so i have to re learn everything nice videos though
Woody, sorry to hear about your accident but I'm glad the videos are helping with the re-learning process. Feel free to get in touch anytime with any questions you might have. A quick note about the Melodyne plugin, you "can" create harmonies with the plugin by copying the material you'd like to harmonize over to new tracks and instantiating the plugin on each new audio file. Then just pitch each file to perform each harmony part.
No well its been used in my bands production of our first ep but hadn't used it before couple days ago the scale snaping and so forth really helped, as me and lead vocalist are creating more indepth harmonies this really makes it easy to map things out rather then figuring them out manually.

Umm. Shift ~>Option (???) ~> Cick and Drag?
...Where the fuck is the "Option" key?
Is that crazy MAC jargon, or something? Note to you guys... Most people use PCs! Instructions the rest of use can follow would be nice. : D
Otherwise, nice thought.

Hi Bluecafe69 and thanks for the feedback.
If you wish to copy harmonies in Melodyne on a PC first selected the material you wish to copy then hold down Shift+Alt+Click and Drag.
This will copy the notes onto a new track which you can then manipulate around to create the type of harmony you'd like to hear.
Let me know if it works for you.

i wonder how much you paid whoever did that tut, that gives you the right to comment so ignorantly,
Option is Alt, a little google research goes a long way, and learn to express yourself respectfully, you'll get much more.

That's cool, where can we hear your music?
I agree, it's great for laying down harmomy ideas on the fly. It's a great creative tool for the studio.
If you have any further questions please feel free to get in touch.
