  • I love this woman. I don´t like that she did coke on this interview, but whatever.

  • 1- please tell my its not just me that finds it weird that every time the camera is on the host, the screen is black and white... odd.

2- and on thet opic of earlier versions, i think "the hooks" (the original earlier versions of "gimme sympathy" should end up on an ep, just an idea.

  • You know I came here to hear about the music producing process and stuff but what that fuck are you talking I actually think her chin is beautiful. I mean she's beautiful. rather interesting than boring.

  • she looks normal, like an actual human being that I can imagine meeting. unlike all the other female music artists with ridiculous amount of make up

  • she says some really profound things. the way she views society and herself is something rare to find in music, and people in general. everyone is so media obsessed and worried about fitting into a certain mold. she puts out that none of that is necessary for happiness. learn and grow from life's experiences and be happy about where you came from and who you are. FUCK SUPERFICIALITY.

  • she remimds me a bit of mélanie laurent, and kristen steward...she's pure epic :)

  • she is extraordinarily beautiful.

  • whats with the shots with the interviewer being in black ad white ?

  • her voice alone turns me on. it's only a plus that she happens to be such a beauty sucks for the rest of you who can't get over themselves.

  • Thought she was hotter than this. Needs dentures

  • Garageband is the best.

  • You can tell how annoyed Haines is with this ridiculous exercise, but she still maintains. She is almost too rad to be alive.

  • oh wow, she's more beautifull without makeup.

Someday i will see metric live.

  • The day people will stop saying that gender is important for ones career is the day these people will elevate themselves from unimpowering self-pity to courageous self-impowerment and true joy in life!

  • @zobazoba69 Self-pity? Do you truly believe that gender doesn't effect an artist's career? Just look at all the comments on Emily Haines appearance... Female musicias have to be a blank canvas on stage or else they're not taken seriously. What makes Emily Haines so amazing (other than she's an amazing musician, obviously) is that she's not afraid to step outside those bounderies. She's not afraid to be female and a fucking genius. It's not self-pitying, it's reality.

  • @zobazoba69 Sorry but I think that the feminist dogma of how everything is so much harder on the woman than the man is NOW subject to dicussion. I believe times have changed and there is, right now, a whole lot of free space for women to roam: in some places, evn more space for woman then men. It is NOT seen predujicable for a woman to have a music carreer, as it is no loger prejudicable for her to go to university (actually, we think more of women than men for that fact).

  • @zobazoba69 (cotinued) For me, self-pity is the woman who cannot see this and continues to think that society is crushing her poor little bones and mind. Timeshave changed, so should our understanding. And not doing so, is living in lies.

  • I love how clever Emily is and what a broad spectrum of language she has!! I dont see whats wrong with her in this video though? People tend to focus on the negative and amplify it eventually masking all the good aspects which is generally human nature but theres nothing wrong with her in this video.. Im 14 years old and if I can see that you're all acting immature than we have a problem.. LOVE METRIC <3

  • @Joshster001 I had a feeling the interviewer thought Emily was talking in a foreign language because she was talking very worldly and about more thought provoking ideas. The really good musicians usually are geniuses.

  • @Makavelinine6 Completely agree =]

  • she looks tired

  • Folks Chill! The music industry all over is a vicious here today gone tomorrow business. Even the great Allanis had problems staying relevant in recent years and shes still young and amazing! 2 years ago we could not get enough of Feist and Arcade Fire.... get my drift? The mileage in this industry is so short these days you have to make the most of it while you can and Metric are doing that now!

  • @donnybrooklads Hmmm....That's funny, I am pretty sure that I am sitll all over both Arcade Fire and Fesit. They are some of the greatest songwriters of the past 50+ years easily. The same could be said about Metric. But I think it would be wrong... Regardless. I love all of them to bits and pieces and they are all ridiculous inspirations to me.

  • Emily has also said that the secret to being happy is to only hang out with people that you like. She has absolutley no affection for the interviewer and therefore feels pissed to have to be there. She is too classy to be really obvious about it, but there are just some feelings you can't hide.

  • Ha ha, I was talking about the interviewer. Emily Haines is a goddess. sonya surprise sounds like a stripper name.

  • Who gives a fuck on how she looks , she's a great artist and you'd better listen to Metric before saying how is her chin

  • Holy crap the interview is totally annoying. Someone needs to punch her in the crotch.

  • You know what, lets not start bashing each other's youtube pseudonyms. That's just silly. My comment was with regards to how annoying the girl giving the interview was. I'm a HUGE fan of Metric. Cool?

  • they did a concert previous to this interview i believe so im thinking shes really tired

  • she is hot

  • metric is amazing! the interveiwer is annoying...

  • Shes not a junky.

  • The interviewer had no idea how to relate to Emily and would smile and kind of google at the guy. I would be uncomfortable interviewing with that chick, too!

  • She was interviewed and she said I like acting like a junky without the junk. It was in reference to energy on the stage

  • why does everyone keep assocating drugs with emily haines?

    am i missing something?

  • i feel that way about paintings emily.. that i enhabit them for my whole life after creating them

  • Comment removed

  • They were interviewed by Radio EvryOne last week. A video is available on our profile

  • she is mad sexy i want her to come to vancouver! try nd scoop those digits!

  • How old is this interview?

  • i love metric, and emily haines in general, but she looks really coked out in this interview, like she's completely uneasy (and her eyes do not open all the way). that could be lack of sleep though, i guess. but whoa, uneasy.

  • bahah!! i love them too, and yeah she looks high or sumthing!! :P

  • Is it just me or does the interviewer seem really nice and saintly.

  • ugh,emily is so attractive and creative....sigghhh...<3

  • Love James and Emily!

Why is the interviewer always in black and white? I don't know...it's just getting on my nerves.

  • hahaha i hate it

  • Drugs...total fuckin stereotype. Bigotry's in fashion these days ain't it?

  • she looks so tired :(

  • its the drugs!

  • if i was as old and as successful as them i'd party that hard too.

  • She can still pass for 10 years younger than she is.

  • How old is she?

    I've always waned to know.

  • according to wikipedia, Emily is 34.

  • seriously, what does it matter how they look. they're in the studio, they're busy working, they were touring and doing heavy traveling. who gives a shit what they do in their spare time. it's nobody's business and i doubt anyone here has proof anyway. as a unit, all four of them are talented, great people.

this interviewer is annoying, so i wasn't shocked when emily got a little short with her.

  • Sod it all, who cares. They were probably at a party the night before or something and none of us look good with a hangover.

Can't wait for the new stuff....

  • She does look rough but the talent is still there. I do believe she has a drug problem and has had one for quite some time. I, actually, think the band, as a unit, enjoys recreational drugs.

  • leaving aside the fact that she's female and therefore must be judged on her appearance, she's awesome and a great songwriter.

  • @oxfordpictionary just comes with being a member of the fairer sex.

  • she is HOTTT

  • she looks so rough.

  • Yeah, uh. Comment aside, what the fuck does that even have to do with Canada?
