  • How did you do that with the Tshirt?!?! :O

    I must know! lol.

PS love the way you did your head wrap... a lot of the other ways are more complected and less secure. Great for people with short twa's without having to stuff a t-shirt in there for height. Thanks!

  • I hate having to do the "thumbs down" for videos that are cool in their own right. I don't know why Youtube put it on my list, though, and that seems to be the only way for Youtube to stop it. I mean no disrespect to any African American ladies, I'm just not one. I am posting this comment because I hate having to up a "dislike" on someone's video. Peace.

  • Beautiful...simply Beautiful...

  • Tonya, please do a few more videos showing afrocentric clothing and the way to way it all elegantly. I do see quite a few vwndors already but I'd appreciate honest vendors who sell African fabrics and clothing you've used. Thanks

  • i'm not afrocentric, but i LOVE the top. i wanna know how to make it... did u make a vid for that?

  • Didn't think I was going to get a reply! U might say, U had me all wrapped Up!

Watching a beautiful Sista' do her thing. U did your job, capture the viewer. When u get a little time on your hands, come 'round here and I'll have some special memories 4 U.

    Jammin' 24/7

Except 10p is Quiet Storm! I'll be lookin 4 U and the wrap! (smile)

  • Thanks for the video i've been wanting to wear my hair like that for so long.I'm going to try it today.

  • P.S....who knew? The secret was the TRIANGLE!

  • I know! I had no idea. Great video!

  • Thank you! I've wanted for ages to learn to wrap...now that I'm transitioning my hair I can really appreciate your teaching methods; you've a new subscriber.

  • gurl you awesome :)

  • what if you have hair? how do you do it with long locs

  • Put your loc's on top of your hair, and that becomes your crown, rather than you having the fabric crown.

  • Use less fabric. I use two yards bcz I don't have hair. Depending on your length you may even be able to do with 1 - 1.5... experiment. Find what works for YOU

    good luck

    -TKO

  • thanks. I loved you vid. I love wearing headwrap. they are so cool. Can you put up other styles and techniques for head wraps?

  • do you have anything for men

  • Ima make a statement TanyaTko. Thanks for the tuturial - Love it!

  • you know i am starting to like you be intrested in your poltical views

  • this was an awesome video

  • I am going to get in touch with my 'self' and do a head wrap - I am currently going natural, in transistion - and I'm loving it and sometimes the 'do is acting really sketchy - the head wrap is versatile and beautiful - thank you Tonya!

  • i've watched a few videos on how to do a head wrap, and yours is the best demonstration. thanks for taking the time to go through it with detail.

  • The moment I've been waiting for and Loved every minute of it. ok, maybe I'm off on tangent, but it seems to me, from what you've said, that wrapping a galae is sort of like saying a prayer. Listen to everything you said and incorporate the words 'life' and 'self' and you will see that there is a prayer or positive affirmation in the process. you need to make this into a poem.

  • You look beautiful like this!

  • Beautiful demonstration! Thanks for shouting out to nappturality! Long live the twa! :-)I'm going to try this wrap out.

  • Could you show us how you made the shirt?

  • Hunnie... how did you see part II without seeing part I?

Go to my video section, I showed how to create the top in great detail.

    -TonyaTko

  • I love your fabric! I use to wear my hair wrapped when I was in highschool trying to loc my hair.

  • What kind of material do you use to make your head scarf?

  • How did you tie that shirt Tonya. it's beautiful?

  • :-) watch video 1.

    -TonyaTko

  • WoW! Nice video T.

  • I watched this with my head leaned over, so I could tell exactly what you were doing! Another beautiful video Tonya! Great job!!!

  • this is super cool

  • Although I'm not entirely sure about it, this works with long hair, right? My friend has really long hair and she's a little afraid that the cloth will get caught within the folds.

  • This is a very interesting question, because this actually works BEST with long hair. Long hair will help the cloth fill out more... give you more height (if you so desire) and it stays on stronger when there is something for the fabric to wrap around.

Yes by ALL means tell her to do her thing!

    -TonyaTko

  • I always wondered how to do both !! Many thanks !!!!

Girl with your personality, I can see you with your own show !! Continue to work on it !!!

  • Wow, I didn't realize that African headwraps were so secure once you put it on, yet so easy to take off once you're ready. I've never heard the expression TWA before, cute:)

  • Thank you so much now I have something fabulous to do with my head on a i'm just me day. oh and TWA I love that LOL...ooo and it just comes right off and the place that you tuck in the last piece of cloth does it have to be tight or is it loose

  • its only tight on the first two wrap arounds... then its loose

    -TonyaTko

  • that was awsome and excellent

  • LOL

  • oh my goodness you are sooo beautful, got me a way to hide my locs in between twistings lol i gotta hit up the fabric store now lol thanx so much

  • THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU!!

And to THINK I should be more aware of this, because I'm half African! xD lol, but thanks so much Tonya!!! AHHH!! You are the COOLEST! <3

  • Nice, I love this video. Peace and <3

  • lol, you so crazy Tonya, I'm goiong to try it.

  • Thanks darlin! Do a video and respond to it k?

    I'm interested in seeing

    -TonyaTko

  • Wow! thank you

  • Can I be honest? I never feel any need to wear my Afrcentricity because I know that is so much a part of who I am it will naturally come out in the things I do. It comes out very strongly in my Artwork. On the same note, when I tell people I am an artist people in NYC use to say to me. "You don't look like an artist".

So if I did were African or artist wear...it would be to other peoples benefit, not necessary mine. Not taking away anything from passing on these great technics. Great Job.

  • That's Hot! Not Hilton Hot. I mean it looks hot as in heat. This video is too long. I grew an afro by the time it got to the end. Love you dancing. How do you spell Gay Lay? 4 stars (for social relevance and stimulation)

  • That does look very hot. I would recommend wetting it the same way I wet my baseball caps. As the water evaporates it sucks in heat from my head and keeps my head cool. It is better that the video be too long and everybody understands how to wrap their head than it be too short and folks be unsure. Grew an afro before it ended? Funny. Yeah, she can definitely dance, that is for sure. Gay Lay? Anyway, five stars. As usual.:-)

  • You're right always better too long than too short. Gotta go ...R Kelly has agreed to babysit my girls this weekend. I'm going to Vegas

  • Gele (with accent marks)

    -TonyaTko

  • Yeah, the video is long, but the technique is difficult, I added the extra minutes in the video... to SAVE myself minutes in email of having to answer questions...

And with this after the 3 demonstrations I hope people have gotten it. My purpose is to help the people who need the help. Trust me... some women out there needed this, and for that I am glad.

Rather it be too much and they get what they need than too short and they dont get it.

    -TonyaTko

  • This way seems better for the type of fabric I can easily find. I'm not good at this at all. Hit or miss. I usually end up throwing the fabric across the room and walking off. lol. The only one I can easily do is with the big bun in the back.

  • Lol, loved the dance.

I love my head wraps. I sometimes wear a headband before I wrap it so I have that two colour thing going on.

  • i luv you hair

  • you look good in that crown girl. Thanks for the tips.peace.

  • So So Beautiful --lol--lol--I love this -- MY African GOddsess--MY African Beauty---The Source Bless YOU Always _Amen_RA

  • I have a queistion? Have you ever thought about having your own show? You can be the new modern Oprah. I am not just sayin that but you are soo informative!! And still soo beautiful!

  • I actually want a travel show, thats my dream... I'm working on it. Pray with me. And send out positive thoughts and vibration.

    -TonyaTko

  • That really looks good on you :-)

  • LMFAO i love the dance ahhaha. It made me so happy!!

  • me too lol.
