  • @rtk142 I think you're missing the reference I made.

  • @Wolfenman08 She can't be both? ;)

  • @chershey What, lezzy and ginger? Sure, but this is a reference to The Christmas Invasion when the doctor says "is that who I am now, rude. Rude and ginger?"

  • @Wolfenman08 *correction, "Rude and NOT ginger"

  • This made my day.

  • o.o

  • o.o ...

  • omg lol if it were karen ( not sure) awesome

  • LOL!! Nice!

  • LOL

If Karen actually sung this, that was amazingly good. ;)

  • Anyone else think Karen's an amazing singer? ♥

  • BRITFAG FAIL!!!!!!!

  • Is that actually Karen singing in the video? O.O

  • @simpsonjoshua I didn't think it was, it might have been though.

  • Producer: Okay Katy do you fancy a drink?

Katy (Karen): Ya Okay.! SEE YA LATER LUZZERS! :P

  • Cintilante! Em última análise, a versão parodiada de Karen seria melhor do que o original! Tente não duvido! O que o realismo!

  • Hahahahahah I love the end! oh gawd

  • This is fantastic.

  • @Sinyeta Are you the 9th Doctor?

  • @rtk142 Yes. I'm just shaped like a 15-year-old girl.

  • @rtk142 Are you my mummy?

  • @rtk142 I love you.

  • Is it really she singing? xD Loved the parody, btw<3

  • The world needs more red heads like Karen Gillian.

  • She's most beautiful in redhead...

  • If anyone doubts Karen Gillan's acting skills, they just have to watch this video. She pulls this off so well.

  • @thatgraymoon she does stage shows and plays too not just doctor who. shes my second cousin so weve been to 2 filming sessions and some plays. but im not scottish

  • Stop debating about the song and just sit here and appreciate how bloody beautiful this woman is and how lovely her brain is.

  • Here I was beginning to really like Karen Gillan. Why is that so many girls, one way or another, now feel the need to give in to the "pink dollar" and in some way or another flirt, with this 'lesbian' evil???? My affection and respect for her is now shot!

  • Comment removed

  • @SKOTP69 You realize this is a parody, right? She's condemning the idea by making fun of Katy Perry for actually doing that

  • hahahah Karen is very crazy but brilliant act!

  • "alright Katy fancy a drink?"

    "yeah ok. Later lezers!"

    lol i can't stop laughing :D

I didn't think it was her until the end

  • <3 :D LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE

  • "Later, lezzers." LOL Karen Gillan is so charming. <3

  • o_o

  • Doctor Who, parody, Katy Perry, Karen Gillan and faux lesbianism. What's not to like? ;-)

  • Karen Gillan, I'm so in love with you! :')

and will you look at that. I'm a girl!

  • i can't even focus on the humor in this video. Karen Gillan is just way too lovely.

  • "Later Lezzers" hahahah omg i love you Karen Gillan so so much!

  • This better be on the Karen & the Babes album.

  • the only music parody i enjoy

  • I LOVE THIS GIRL MARRY PLZ

  • Why does she speak with an American accent at the end? I thought she was Scottish, or is she just acting or something?

  • @MacGyver920 omg have you even heard a scottish accent in your life lol that was scottish

  • @bawbomb Doesn't sound like it.

  • @MacGyver920 well, id say a scottish accent is close(r) to an american one, and the sentence she said happened to have no (or less) distinct scottish qualities, but it doesn't mean she wasn't faking an american accent

  • I think it's hilarious and dead on target. I bet Katy Perry giggled all the way to the bank, knowing that all the lezzers were dooling over her while they stood in line to buy this song. The other side is true, too. We men get off on the thought of two (or more) hot babes gettin' it on with each other.

  • I can't believe I didn't saw this one before, awesome. :P

Karen Gillan is so cute. XD

  • this is fucking great hahhaa

  • I'm in lesbians with her. :)

  • Karen Gillan >>>>> Emma stone any day. She is so hot and talented and funny.

  • Comment removed

  • she's not the best at lip syncing... she should have asked Ashley Simpson for some pointers...

  • I was hoping to hear "I kissed the Doctor and I liked it," in the chorus.

  • @faerie130 Did you kiss her back? ;)

  • @faerie130

yeahhh me too i was hopping to hear I Kissed the doctor and i liked it :P

  • i love lesbians theyre hot

  • come along pond

  • Sorry to disappoint boys. She did not sing. She just lipsynced. It's not even her voice. It's WAY too high-pitched.

  • Holy crap what happened to her scottishness D:

  • @oblaga I don't think that's actually her singing most of the time.

  • I can't believe I'm saying this, but I like her better with red hair.

  • @yoroshiku

red hair is exactly what makes her so bloody hot

  • Spot on!

Katy Perry is a prefabricated, talent free vacuous twit. She, and the corporate Cybermen who constructed her deserve all the scorn they can get. As do the morons who buy her crap.

  • @archer1949 Cybermen...nice :D

  • YOU WERE A LITTLE GIRL 5 MINUTES AGO! lmao but seriously i love Karen, she can sing well actually :3

  • ...There needs to be an episode of Doctor Who where the Doctor finds this. Really. I would pay good money to see that.

  • Holy shit, I remember watching this a loooong while ago. I first thought she was weird. Never knew she'd end up on Doctor Who and would turn out to be someone I idolize.

  • I wrote a paper on how Katy Perry's song exploited gay women and made a mockery of them. Thanks for this parody - Superb!

  • @salx77 I've been saying the same bloody thing since I first heard the song, though being far removed from the halls of academia was never in a position to write a paper about it. I'm glad someone did, it needed to be said.

  • @salx77 You were desperate enough to go write a paper about it...wow..umm no. how about you read the wiki on this song, and chill out. people always have to make a big deal out of things that they dont know anything about. its honestly its NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL its a song damn. Katy Perry is out living her dream and other people are living their own lives. Do you think anyone gives a fuck what you have to complain about, especially over a song? seriously, chill out. its nothing to cry over >.>

  • @kizzmysass I guess that applies to your comment as well then doesn't it? Apparently you don't know the meaning of the word desperate either. Also, the wiki? Yeah I suppose that makes sense because absolutely every wiki entry in history is 100% completely and totally accurate isn't it? Did you sense the sarcasm there because I meant it.

  • @familyguyfreak796 Um...wat? LOL how am I desperate? By reading the wiki? I only read it so I could see if she actually kissed a girl or not. I looked it up on other sources too, and all answers said no, she didnt. Yea wiki is not the most accurate source but if you look it up in other sources it doesnt need 2 be. Even if she did, so what? That's her business, not yours. A SONG is better than a bunch of homophobes rioting, right? You act like Katy Perry did it any worse than the rest of da world

  • @kizzmysass Actually, I was referencing the use of "desperate" in your previous comment. Also, in that previous comment, you never mentioned another source, so you can't call me out for mentioning wiki. I thought you might have been looking for something profound like her views on the subject but I guess I shouldn't count on someone like you to be profound about anything. Also, I never said her life was any of my business. You assumed that yourself. Reply however you want. I won't respond.

  • @salx77 its people like you that make simple little things a giant production

  • @salx77 That's a waste of paper. You're giving much more credit to a throwaway pop song than it deserves. Making a mockery of gay women.. lol, what a load of crap.

  • @AlTheChemist5 A throwaway pop song? A pop song that had heavy rotation on the radio and television, a pop song that sold millions. Words matter. And the attitude she promotes with this song, the "teehee look at me I'm kissing a girl, aren't I adventurous lolz??" is a damaging stereotype, lending credence to the idea that women only do things for the male gaze. Yes, it's disparaging to gay women. Her music is homophobic.

  • @janekrahe No, it's not disparaging to gay women. Nor is it homophobic.

If you actually listen to the lyrics, it's heavily implied that she's straight, and doesn't normally do it. And she happened to enjoy it. It never infers that she did it for attention, and it actually says nothing at all about gay women. Oh, and whoops, it's about a real-life situation. "The song was inspired by a friendship I had with a girl when I was 15, and I did kiss her. I was totally obsessed with her."

  • @AlTheChemist5 I'm not just talking about this song. She also has a song called "You're So Gay" which begins with the lyrics, "I hope you hang yourself with your H&M scarf". The entirety of that song uses the word "gay" as a derogatory insult. It's homophobic, plain and simple. She's a hypocritical, mediocre pop singer who pretends to be LGBT friendly while her lyrics tell a very different story.

  • @janekrahe "uses the word "gay" as a derogatory insult"

No, it doesn't. The guy in the song acts like a gay stereotype, and she's angry with him, hence "I hope you hang yourself".

I honestly cannot believe I'm defending Katy Perry lyrics, but your arguments are so ignorant/contrived that it's not even funny. Just because someone uses the word 'gay' without referring to an actual homosexual, doesn't make them homophobic. It means they understand how to use the English language... (cont'd)

  • @janekrahe ... the meaning of any given word is dynamic, and can change based on context. The sooner you figure that out, the sooner you can put silly things like this aside, and focus on things that are actual problems for the gay community.

  • @salx77 Commercialism is the biggest form of exploitation, and when lesbians aren't being ostracized they're regarded as currency.

  • @salx77 Huh?! What arrogance! Whenever anyone goes "lesbian" they cease being a real woman! There are no gay "women"...and lesbianism is mockery of real womanhood, of men, of society, of everything good and decent and true!

  • Comment removed

  • Crap.... I love Karen.. But I also love Katy >_>

  • did anyone else notice that almost every rhyme is 'it' with 'it'

  • lol this song would be funny if it were true.

This song became big when One Of The Boys came out when she was around 23. She had written the song when she was about 17, after having a crush on a girl that introduced her to rock music, especially Queen. She actually did end up kissing that girl, despite her strong Christian upbringing, leading her to pen this song.

  • @mjf3140 even if that's true it's still funny cause she's singing about the perception

  • @mjf3140 Sounds like you fell for some stage managed Public relations bullshit.

Katie Perry is a talent free vacuous twit who has no thought that her handlers didn't put into her head first.

Come to think about it, this video is giving her way too much credit in that it implies that the whole faux lesbian thing was her idea. She's a puppet.

  • @archer1949 Except that you obviously know nothing about KATY Perry, as she wrote the song, and then Capitol Records didn't want the song to be put on the record. They didn't like it, Katy fought for it to be put on the record, and to be a single. It was HER idea. Katy fully writes, or co-writes, all her songs, and has a hand with everything she does on and off screen. She's a puppet for no one, I think she one of the most individual people in this business... she does everything for herself.

  • @mjf3140 Just because she wrote it about a real thing doesn't mean that it wasn't sold as crap to arouse men. If the meaning was important to her she shouldn't have let them turn it into that.

  • @LanceDirk Once again, "sold as crap"... her label didn't want to sell it. If i could italicize it, I would. She liked the song, and needed it to boost her career, and I'm pretty sure, even without the song, she could still arouse men.

  • @mjf3140 "i kissed a girl just to try it"

  • @bawbomb Yes? She's not talking about all women in the world, just her own personal experience. This isn't meant to be a gay anthem, like people seem to think. It's just for her. She kissed a girl, she had a crush on a girl, but the song is only loosely based on when she actually did it, for when she did it wasn't in a club and she was drunk, she was 19 and it was in a car and they were listening to Queen.

  • @mjf3140 lol ok that doesn't change the fact that the song is exploiting and makes it seem like a choice also do i care if they were listening to queen in a car :~)

  • @bawbomb Here's the thing: there are some people who are truly attracted to one gender, whether it be opposite or same. And there are some people who do not care who they kiss, have feelings, or relations with because they see people as people and not as genders. Do you think maybe Katy could fit under the last one? At least she had the balls to sing about doing anything with the same gender, because she knew she'd get flack from either side, and look at what you all are doing. proving it right.

  • @mjf3140 That is called pansexuality and is irrelevant to the argument.

  • And i brought up the Queen in a car thing just to give you facts, since i have many of them.

  • @mjf3140 but why???? if they're not relevant you sound the opposite of what you're trying to portray

  • @bawbomb It's supporting the fact that she has actually done things with a girl, a fact many people seem to ignore, or disbelieve in.

  • @mjf3140 listening to queen in a car does not tell me she's done things with a girl. i don't care if she actually kissed a girl or not "i kissed a girl just to try it"

  • @bawbomb You're completely missing the point of me telling you facts to support my topic, sooo.. If i can't at least talk to someone with some kind of level of intelligence, I'm done here... later lezzers.

  • @mjf3140 YOU are missing MY point. I understand she actually kissed a girl, I'm not trying to disprove that, the song makes it sound as if she did it "just to try it" and just for a fun experience, like it isn't something natural. Whether she had feelings or not for the girl, it isn't a very well-written song. That is my point.

  • @mjf3140 Does it hurt being as stupid as you are? I hope it does.

  • @RobVonMunster I'm not sure why you're calling me stupid? Does that make you feel good for something? All I did is defend my current favorite musician because people tend to spread a lot of false "facts" about her... and you call me stupid? When I can almost guarantee you know nothing about Katy Hudson?

  • @mjf3140 Actually, she didnt write the song. ANd it was based on an song from a decade ago.

  • @PUPPYLUVE44 Nope. Check her CD pamphlet or even the Wiki, it was written by Perry, Dr. Luke and Max Martin. Katy has written or co-written every song on her albums. It was based off of a crush when she was 15 she had on a girl that she ended up kissing. She said she woke up after having a flash-back dream about it with the chorus in her head and it spawned from there.

  • @mjf3140 HAhha yeah, and check the interview with her where she says " "'I Kissed a Girl' was inspired when I opened up a magazine and I saw a picture of Scarlett Johansson” Perry told Steppin’ Out magazine." SO I guess she cant keep her story straight. because someone else wrote it and she got shit because of how offensive it is to the LGBT cause....she made stuff up

  • @PUPPYLUVE44 She did say that the song was also inspired by her wanting to kiss Scarlett Johansson. However she did kiss a girl and that's the basis, the photo surged it. Jesus, think outside the box. she wouldn't use her name on a song if she didn't write it. She's been writing songs since she was 12, you think she'd suddenly start now? It's really not offensive, myself being apart of the LGBTQIA community can readily admit that we tend to jump on anything that sounds offensive and make it so.

  • @mjf3140 haha I like Katy! okay, but I know that song, she wasn't that involved with! but I'm not angry she started up her career with it. But I read in many articles on the actual writers and the actual basis. (The song I kissed a girl from the 90s is one.)

  • @PUPPYLUVE44 Not sure what you're trying to say.. But every song does derive context from a different song, whether it be lyrically or instrumentally, it's hard not to since there are so many songs out there now, so I'm not doubting your argument, just presenting the facts that I know.

  • Is Karen actually singing this?

  • wow, i just realized she doesn't have red hair!
