  • The fact that the Doctor can do those things is scary. Also that you don't get to see how he does them which leaves it to the imagination...

  • why did he hate them so much i didn't see this episode?

  • @luedog4life

Because he became human, so he could hide from them. He also needed to forget who he was and believed to be a teacher named John Smith. John Smith fell in love and was happy in his new life, but the family found him and Martha told him, that he had to open the watch and remember. He had to choose and so he "killed" John Smith, became the Doctor again and had to leave the woman he loved behind.

  • @luedog4life They're some alien race(can't remember the name) and if they feed on a timelord they can live forever, so in kindness he tryed to hide from them by becoming human and just letting them die of old age

  • I will carry out great vengeance on them and punish them in my wrath. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I take vengeance on them.

    Ezekiel 25:17

  • bowties are cool.

  • Rule of thumb: NEVER piss off THE DOCTOR

  • Nice bowtie doctor...

  • When I saw the picture of this video before choosing it, the one with his face, I thought he looked like Raymond in Everybody love Raymond.....yeah Ô_____-

  • BOWTIES

  • I love the shot of his Converse in this dramatic scene. Very clever.

  • He was just in a bad mood because he ate a pear.

  • @Shmiefman

Whoa, whoa, whoa!! Let's not say something we can't take back!!

  • iv never gone near a scarecrow or mirror since this damn episode

  • Also like my comment if the first thing you thought when you saw Viserys Targaryen was "Hey isn't that the kid from "Human Nature" and "Family of Blood"?"

  • What do you think is worse, being a scarecrow for enternity or having a pot of smoltering hot gold poured on top of your head?

  • @FiercePierce86 Out of the two, I'd take the molten gold. Eternity without movement seems far more painful to me than molten metal that will almost certainly kill me.

  • @FiercePierce86 the first one cuz remember eternity is a very very long time like 99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 years

  • @PieMister02 more like 999 recurring

  • @PieMister02 I think you missed a few digits there

  • This is the sort of scenes you don't get to see in Series 5/6. It's not Matt or Stevens fault, but I loved it when The 10th Doctor was like angry, but he didn't show it.

  • I hated this episode so much except for this part. This is one of my favorite scenes in all of Doctor Who.

  • @Maplehoofian How could you hate such an amazing episode?

  • @TheAfroThunder1 Idk. I just really didn't enjoy it.

  • @Maplehoofian You mean you didn't enjoy this scene or Series 5/6?

  • @TheAfroThunder1 No just the episode. The Family of Blood episode.

  • @Maplehoofian Oh... You are now on my list to kill... Jokes! But why don't you like it? I love it! LOV'AT!!!!

  • @TheAfroThunder1 Haha. I dunno. I just don't I guess. I don't like that he's not really the Doctor for most of it.

  • @Maplehoofian Fair enough... I like it 'cause while there's plenty of action and scary moments for the kids, there's typically lots of intelligent discourse on subjects such as sacrifice, love, identity and of course, a look at the nasty underbelly of British life in the early 20th century... Or something stupid like that.... Your open to your own opinion.

  • I don't know why but this is one of my favorite serious scenes from Doctor Who.

  • BOWTIEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yhgu

  • Can you really blame the family of blood? It was either kill or die yourself.

  • This is my favorite scene of the whole show, showing just what the Doctor is capable of, if you really piss him off.

  • @cravensvt that is so true....the lesson to learn is don't piss him off unless you want to die! Him being quiet and angry is i think more terrifying then when he yells!

  • 0:11 The Doctor kind of scares me when he smiles like that.

  • Two things can be gathered from this, children: 1) NEVER get on the Doctor's bad side, and 2) Be careful what you wish for, because you might just get it.

  • pressing buttons! WOO!

  • They wanted to live forever... So the Doctor made sure they did.

  • This was too harsh. Killing them would be kinder.

  • @1Lanavis1 He was trying to be kind, by hiding until they died, but they whouldn't let it go so he stoped being kind.

  • @Cotterma So? Killing them would still be kinder and it would be far more just than eternal torment. I never said he wasn't kind, I just pointed out that killing them would be kinder.

  • Wow, harsh... David Tennant would do well in Slytherin!

  • @TheBaconlaser He's not ambitious enough. If he was, well, Time Lord Victorious, anyone?

  • @TheBaconlaser He DID play Barty Crouch Jr. It makes sense now. XD

  • @shortandproud1996 haha, awesome. I never noticed that!

  • DAVID TENNANT IN A BOW TIE.

  • And I learned you need to be spefic with things or things like that allways are open

  • David Tennant owned the role of the Doctor Like tom Baker did. they way he would talk, play the fool and set the situation for his enemies down fall right in front of them. Bravo!

  • This should have started a few momments before. Tennant switching from scared geek to "the Doctor" is great acting, with his body language you can tell the traps been sprung.

  • 0:00 to 0:01 ORK!

  • what the most terrifying part of this is how they never say HOW the Doctor did this. especially the mirror bit.

  • @TheValiantBob Oh well, just paralel worlds, and timey-wimey wibbly-wobbly stuff.

  • @TheValiantBob magic

  • That was so dramatic and kinda sad when you think about it.

  • He was being kind to them by hiding, Letting them chose to live or not. But they had to find him, They risked their own lives. The Doctor was going to give them mercy, But their greed was to big, And so, He gave them what they wanted. They wanted to life forever, So he granted their wish.

  • I really like Matt Smith, but I miss David Tennant! He was my favourite Doctor.

  • NEVER PISS OFF THE DOCTOR.

  • I think it was the worst thing he's ever done!

  • @kavtoM nope, sorry, one worse, being forced to commit double genocide during the timewar, thats the worst he has ever done

  • @TheMMOFifty He was FORCED back then. Here he CHOSE to do this!

  • @kavtoM yes, but imprisoning 4 beings trying to murder him in order to become immortal and causing him to lose his love vs having to destroy(or attempt to) both his own race and his greatest enemy's in one fell swoop, several billion lives destroyed vs four imprisoned souls, forced or not, the doctor's greatest act, and his most appalling, was making himself the sole survivor of the time war, and yes, he was forced, but if he never had to do so, he never would have tortured the family of blood

  • @kavtoM the point still stands, double genocide is far worse then quartet eternal torture, forced or not, and the war still weighs on him, this? barley a passing thought

  • we love david tennant i want back the 10th timelord:(

  • we wanted to live forever so the doctor made sure that we did

  • I miss them. Bring them back in the new series!
