  • The live version of EF from the 06-07 tour is almost better then the original. Petes guitar work is a lot crisper and lead guitar-ey

  • This is amazing! Where is the full gig available?

  • thank you for the upload

  • GO VIRAL!!! ; )))

  • This has a surprisingly similar Floyd wall era feel to it

  • I was confused by a comment Pete Townsend made in an interview when he described himself as a "rhythm guitarist" and a "showman" but not a good guitarist. His lead work is amazing! This is a great version.

  • pete most underrated guitarrist of all time....only rhytim guitarrist? are u fucking kidding me

  • @8knauss Not true I was born in 98 and il love this music

  • What "jackass" would not like this ?????? Prol some body born after 1990......

  • Day-yum!

In all matters rock, I'm pretty much stuck-between - I was born in 1981, so I'm too young for Generation X and too old for whatever came afterwards.

But you know what? I still consider The Who to be the best Rock Band ever, and Pete to be the best guitarist ever.

I'm not saying that everything since sucked; but I AM saying nothing since (or before!) came close. Don McLean, eat your heart out! :-D

  • For me this is the best classic rock song ever...

  • How many hours of Pete's life have been spent playing guitar? 6,000 hours? 10,000?

  • I can't stop to listen to this song ! best version ever

  • The people who clicked on dislike for this number really need to check their pulse!!!

  • This vocal/guitar performance by Mr. Townshend should be entered in the hall of fame.

    Brilliant.

  • I love it when Pete gets pissed off.

  • @LorinTone Best angry guy in the world.

  • never really liked The Who, but this is too good to ignore

  • young or old, you gotta love this.

  • Este tema me eriza la piel, Qué banda LOS WHO!!!!! una LEYENDA DEL ROCK mundial .-

  • Haven't had my body react with friggin' chills up and down for so long in a long time! Unreal...Awesome...Powerful...just wow.

  • It's a put on!

  • I Love other guitarists... But Eminence is a Masterpiece .... Marr ...Hendrix Clapton.... Try to play along it is joyous....

  • Qué versión tan fumada! Muy bacán!

  • Nasty... How great ... play along.. such good riffs.... NASTY....

  • Nasty... How great ... play along.. such good riffs....

  • LEGENDS - SIMPLE AS THAT!

  • They aren't from this planet, are they? o_O

  • The Who Forever =D

  • This is the only Who song I've ever liked. Oh wait, I dig that Squeezebox one too...for personal reasons...

  • One of the greats!

  • Pete plays with such emotion. Just making it up as he goes along. amazing

  • it was a great concert i was there...

  • When you consider the massive shoes Kenney Jones had to fill after Keith Moon died I think he did quite well.

  • God.. Pete is ridiculously awesome haha... Hope they go forever

  • The way a lot of kids are gravitating to rock of the 60's, 70's and 80's is proof that today's corporate music (aka Nickelback) doesn't hide the fact that kids KNOW what real music is. Today's garbage has no soul because the artists can no longer be creative. It's all about the money and what will make a fast buck. I detect an awakening though from the underground movement !

  • Whatever happened to SEX DRUGS & ROCK N' ROLL

Now we've just got Cocaine and tech fuckin NO!!!!!..... Down with the Beibers and the gagas

  • one of my all time favorite's,. saw them in concert was FANTASTIC!

  • drop the .....eminence front.....

  • Pete Townshend has been a source of inspiration to me for for almost 25 years now....the man is an multidimensional warrior.

  • just think what keith could have done with this song.

  • Well i neve played San Andreas but his definetly one of the best songs i've ever heard

  • Pete Townshend writes searing lyrics and back them up with incredible, signature licks.

  • In all these years I never knew what this song said.. It sounded like " Livin in a butt! Come on!" In fact, I Googled that very phrase to find it ;) lol cool song though.

  • @brandon9271 My dad used to always sing "fuckin' in the butt" lol

  • My favorite version of the song!

  • Really nice! Sure miss the Ox though.

  • Best Version out there. Tear it up Pete

  • Jeez - zus- christ this ia awesome!

  • Pete is so raw here...totally on the edge! What a legend!

  • Simon Townshend has really improved The Who in the years since he joind the band. He's just like John used to be, a a no-nonsense back up vocalist and visual anchor.

  • never realized how big of a jam song this is

  • :/

    The God is missed <3

    John Thunderfingers Entwistle.

  • So much better than the studio version! The Who = best live band, in any line-up!

  • the fucking hair thins!

    so true :)

  • Pete is GOD

  • This is the best version of Eminence Front I've seen. These guys can still play!

  • Great song, and the lava lamps in the background are awesome.

  • It's always cool to see Roger play guitar.

  • the best

  • I gotta go see them live, theyre awesome!

  • really cool. this really IS rock classic!!!

Great music for swimming with sharks.

  • cool. dynamic. great music for swimming with sharks. I love Pete Townsend for writing and

    playing this.

  • cool. Dynamic. great music for swimming with sharks of the human kind. It's a put on,

yeah. Come and see their party.

  • Found a Lava Lamp at a yard sale today...but what's a frontline today in the good ol USA!..(a 3rd year on increased property taxes on assessed value?)...rich to get richer vs 'of the people..'for the people..'by the people..Blah Blah BLAH! "PARTY!"...Hearty..Rock n Roll!

  • Saw them in 2007 at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis - one HELLUVA SHOW! (especially with free tickets in a corporate suite)

  • U lucky bastard! I probably wont get to see them.

  • the fucking hair thins!

  • Also, a great performance. They're always great to watch live.

  • Cool to see Daltrey on the guitar.

  • Yeah! He was going to be the lead guitarist originally right?

  • amazin

  • Pete-Page-Hendrix-Clapton-Allman-May

  • Can't forget Stevie.

  • true!

  • santana?:)

  • Mexican????

    IDIOT

  • faggot racist.

  • Django Reinhard, the list goes on

  • @duanekuiper Rory Gallagher

  • @duanekuiper And Mick Taylor !

  • Pete townshend and eric clapton are why I started playing guitar. Theyre the best ever!

  • The Who are the greatest rock band of all time! Even when they are two members short

  • And I also have to say that Pete is one of the most badass guitar players of all time

  • hell yes! 5 months of trying to get that intro solo and i still fail :)

  • keep trying you'll get it! Petes under rated as a guitarist

  • thanx :) i'm getting there

  • They put on one of the best live rock shows I saw them in Connecticut on thier last tour and I was just blown away.

  • Does anyone know if the who are coming to the new york area, im 16 and havent seen them yet

  • I doubt they will come back. They haven't announced any ideas for a tour, hopefully they will. You should have seen them 6 months ago when they were in the States

  • I was gonna go to the show in conneticut with my dad, but it was at 11:00 pm on a thursday, so we couldn't go. I wish we had though, 'cause that was probably my last chance to see them.

  • I'm sorry man. I remember the first time I saw them was on a school night, but I said the hell with it and went anyway lol. Anyway, hope you get to see them one day man, everybody should see them at least once

  • Yeah. Hopefully pete and roger will want to keep going for another tour(but its looking more and more doubtful every day). Im still hopeful(or dillusional u pick)

  • This song sounds emasculated without Entwistle's bass. Pino's good, but doesn't do it here very well.

  • To Blusub6:The balls are still there, but not the soul without Entwistle.

  • i believe the who is still the hardest band of all time!

    and i'm 17, if that matters :P

  • noone is impressed that you like this music at your age. its not out of the ordinary. noone gives a shit

  • He's a kid, and most fans of this band are in their 40's and older. Grow up ass hole and leave him alone.

  • i dont have a problem with him liking this music. i just have a problem with the 50 million kids that all of a sudden like classic rock or classic rock bands because of guitar hero, which has now seriously overplayed some great songs

  • How about you get your head out of your arse and realise that games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero bring in revenue and exposure to bands that would otherwise die out with the rest of the old farts who can't come to appreciate music in new forms?

  • My head is quite far from my "ass" actually. And I have no need to entertain the idea of these pretend band music kids. I merely said that I enjoy the music FOR the music, not just because it was featured in a video game.

  • Well the game is introducing the music to the generations that were destroyed by rap. The games are doing a favor to the musicians and industry, also the kid could have learned the music from his dad or other family member. These kids also like the music because its good, they just were introduced through a game.

  • If that's how it is, then that's great. I'm saying that if a younger person solely listens to a song because it was in one of those games, that irritates me. Or when they hear a song they recognize and say "Oh sweet! This is from (insert music game of your choice here)!", that drives me nuts. That's probably a stupid reason I admit, but I don't know why it bothers me so much. I myself have learned about most of my music through my uncle. I've been around classic rock since I was born.

  • excellent point! my son always comes up and asks if I've heard of different rock groups. " Hey dad you ever heard of Led Zeppelin?" LMAO

  • @califsucks hahahahahah that is damn cute

  • Good point about grand theft auto there regarding the younger generation being introduced to music like this.

  • I manage to enjoy gangsta rap and stuff like this and other types of music too ;D

  • I agree. it does not matter.

  • also saw them the other night :)

Acer Arena is no Hyde park, but they still put on an awesome show! 40 years after they started out!

  • The fuckin baddest tune english people hav ever cum out wiv!!!!!!

  • best WHO tune of all time - U GOT TO DRESS @ KILL!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHH!

  • Saw them last night. Wow.

  • I saw them live last night, most amazing night ever!

the first time I ever heard this song I thought they were singing "everything's fucked" :-P

  • Pete's most favorite song

  • Awesome

  • it don't matter if he don't move like he use to he can still do the fuckin windmill that no other artist can do successfully he can still do more things on a guitar than anybody in my opinion he'll keep going no matter what

  • This should be the campaign song for every politician Republican and Democrat..especially in this day and age...well the more things change the more they stay the same...right Mr. President?

  • so did ur ma.

    last nite.

  • Is it just me or has Pete gotten better and better as he got older?

  • yea pete gets better with age.

  • hes lost the fire thru age but its been replaced with skillful solos.

  • It's the Strat. Notice how Pete kind of adopts new aspects into his style whenever he plays a different guitar? I guess his style with the Stratocaster just works a little better than his older styles.

That, and he has gotten a ton better.

  • I saw them in Winnipeg during this tour, it was an amazing show!

  • People said that townshend is a great writer, but he is not a guitar hero. Well this performance proofs them all wrong!

  • I'm sorry, I love this song, but this was a weak vocal performance...

  • copy and paste this if u think all the people that dont like this video are fags and there dumb asses becuase they typed in this in the first place!!!!

  • I like the tone of his guitar (mm)

  • He still can play his guitar! This is a great song too, one of my favs by the WHO one of the legends of rock, great footage of a master and his gold stratocaster!

  • Long live Pete! We love you so much and inspired by you a lot! U're te founder of rocknroll!

  • It's amazing he can still play so well, even with such hearing problems. It's very difficult...

  • love petes sound..awesome guitar player...

  • freaking epic.

  • BEST WHO TUNE OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!

  • False. He claimed that the information was to help write a book against child pornography, and the police didn't charge him with anything because after investigating his computer for four months, they found that he didn't access any images at all.

  • Wrong again. He did confess under public pressure, but after a four month investigation, the police found nothing related to child pornography on his computer outside of ONE PAGE which did not have pornographic images, but was simply related to a underage pornography site.

  • funny how u little internet stains try to defend a child molester. he likes little boys, hes an admiited gay man, sowhy would u try to defend him? its so pointless and dumb. do u think the world is flat still too? lol. fkign nits

  • Sorry I should've realized I was trying to argue with a dumbfuck. You have no proof he's a child molester. The child pornography claims were false, and if you think otherwise you're beyond retarded. He's NOT an admitted homosexual either, you fucknut. He admitted to experimenting in the 60s, but that's it.

  • Oh he's gay is he? How come he's married with kids then? Seriously you have issues, just appreciate how fuckin amazin he is on guitar man,

  • You can really tell this song is Pete's baby. I think he really likes singing it.

  • betcha!!

    this is simply awesome...

maan!! this guys fckin' rock dude!!

i mean this is the shit...

    great^^

  • I like Pete's slight "homage" to Jimi, in the attire

that he's wearing this evening. Of course it' could also be pure coincidence. Sorta like Borat 's wife.. her "vajeeen" started to hang loose, like "Sleeve of Wizard".

  • this was washington, i always thought of it as like benjamin franklin atire :P

sorry for the bad spelling, i'm drunk.

  • back in "82 (showing my age)...my friends sister could swore they were singing "M&M's (are) fun"...'couse she was a "faux " Valley girl".

    Anyyy WHO...rock on Rabbit!

  • This is amazing!

  • worthless comment.

  • naaw what a crappy comment, pete townshend would kick your fuckin ass, no matter what age you are.

  • Dude. He makes more money than you ever will. he can play the guitar better than you ever could. and not to mention he's banged more chicks than you could imagine. so yeah.

  • Pharmacy! The Martyr of The Stay..(in Place and Occupation)..Executive!..Big Time!..(or, Chief, in All of Man's Tribes!)...if there were designing a PharaohPriestessQueendom in me..truely, a sound in music!

  • Wow incredible comment!

  • 'sorry to have let it blow over..but I was concerned that I may have put too much on a table!...but now I recall why I said so much:'perhaps a song by INXS in equation and of a greatest wonder, "Disappear!"..anyWHO...Man Down! Man Down! for anyone seriously involved in any military engagements?

  • just outstanding

  • the who became old but they still rocks so hard!

  • Their bodys get old, but the musci stays young... its about young fresh music and young fresh spirits
