I've been drawing anime for a year now and my friend and me have been thinking of making a manga. We have a good storyline, and Both of us can draw really good. But we're not really sure yet because we can't put in the story right. Our comic is called " Shangli and Cheeli". We're thinking of a better name. Maybe it's because I'm only fourteen, but we're still trying' to improve.
nice i just finished(i hope) my character library from my manga I'm making called "Full Throttle"(C), btw you're very good, I'm only 14 though but i plan on majoring in art. my biggest problem though seems to be backgrounds and if they use or hold accessory (weapon, random item etc...) i could go on about some plans i have but i feel like im taking away from what i was trying to say... YOU ARE ONE VERY TALENTED ARTIST!
@XxShybutterfly717xX I do inking and lines by hand, and then move it to photoshop to finish. I don't really know what sort of advice to give, beyond taking your time and making sure you have a script in place before you start.
I don't really show it in this, but it's also good to have a decent set of margins in place; if and when you print your book you'll need them to avoid cutting off anything. ( I found this out last year, lol)
nice video but i was slightly creeped out in the beginning. the way ever thing looked with the music playing, i thought you were the spirit of a dead girl playing in the backyard.
@liquidpromises really? i dont know if i should be proud or slightly sad cause. it was a nice vid with nice music that i downloaded and if this is one of the best its kinda makes me think. you havce some great talent too. dont do usin it all on yaoi now, ya hear?
@DeltaNineRnmbr1 My facebook is family and close friends only, but if you want, you can add me on twitter! My name on there is 'heyraynie' and you are rad too!
@liquidpromises I looked at your website. I just can't stand how everyone seems to be using that style lately. There are so many other styles that are amazing in comparison.
@Josh81952 So what you're saying is, you're basing my entire ability as an artist on a comic book I have online. (am I wrong?)
Also, I don't really consider it an anime style. Not anymore. Maybe a few years ago when Azale started.
Thanks for the life drawing suggestions, otherwise, although I can't really figure out what your overall critique is. (besides 'uhnnnn this isn't a style I like') Just don't read it, man.
@liquidpromises I was actually looking for a gallery or something you might have. I couldn't find it. I'd be interested in seeing some self portraits or any kind of painting you might have lying around.
I'm not saying you're bad at art, but you've definitely chosen one of the worst ways to go about it. I don't know if you're getting money doing this, but chances are you wont because it's so generic and dull.
Believe me, I drew anime in middle school. Biggest waste of my artistic abilities.
@Josh81952 I draw because I want to, and because it makes me happy. I'm sorry you dislike the comic. You certainly aren't obligated to read it.
Azale is now making enough to sustain itself, and that's all I could ask for. I'm not looking for cash or to sellout, I'm looking to tell a story. I'm sorry that you are so limited in your artistic scope that you cannot understand that.

Why does everyone talk about how they are going to make their own graphic novel? Assuming you can draw like someone that has dedicated their life to learning to draw and probably has spent years at an art school, what makes you think you can write like someone who gets their books published.
Not to crush anyones dreams but i think people underestimate the love, talent, skill, and sheer man hours spend creating such works. Saying "im going to create my own graphic novel" is getting too trendy,
I don't know. I guess because I've already published one, and I'm working on the second.
Sorry for being 'trendy'? (I don't know anyone else personally who is doing this, so I don't quite get it, I guess.)
Also, this is a hobby. I'm not popular or anything but I haven't dedicated my life to this either. I just like drawing. (And although I had a writer for Azale, my newest work is being written by me.)
I'm also not in art school. I took one year of art classes and then got back into school for teaching grade school. Not everyone does things the same way!
@rektruk well i agree but many people are willing to learn u cant just give up hope just because u suck at drawing or w/e... people say ''i wanna do this'' because they are dedicated and willing to spend those hours practicing and getting better.... any1 can do anything in this world theres nothing u cant do u just gotta want it...

Very nice vid. Also, washing your drawing table adjustment sliders with mild soap and water, and rinsing well will keep them from slipping. The metal has a light film of machine oil from the factory which makes them slippery.

I've been drawing comics for 30+ years, full time. You might find it helpful to mount the lamp on your left so you're drawing hand isn't casting a shadow on your work. It will save on a lot of eyestrain. Also...the Barcardi thing. Be very careful with that shit. It will take more from your art than it gives in the long run.
My comics are stupid funny.

you are so good, i need a draw table, because i draw my comic in my bed, and my back hurts me a lot!

:/ Yeah, I don't have mine, anymore, either. I think it's important to have a space of your own to draw in.

It is! It's Mirwais- Disco Science. Sorry, it's at the bottom of my description. That's probably a bad place to hide it. :)

Thanks. I've actually lost my drawing table a while ago, but I'll keep that in mind for next time.
I also don't usually draw while I do my comic, I was being silly. xD

The beginning of the vid is geeeeeenius! :D

Traditional shading adds that certain personal touch to your work, good show.
