just pointing out, making game characters *can* be a bit harder than making a HD cinematic char, because the less polygons (ex there are 5 "faces/polygons" on a pyramyid) in game chars have usually 800ish polygons, while this dragon creature has welll over a few thousand.

No it's not free. It's a $1000 dollar program which is a decent price compared to some other apps. There's probably a student discount as well.

Yeah, it's an expensive piece of software (though again, it's actually one of the more affordable packages).

The thing is, if you're using a software like Lightwave to work on everyday. It can pay for itself pretty quickly.

It's a bit of an aging program that sometimes works against you instead of for you. But Lightwave Core will fix this.

Still, Lightwave is probably the most popular option for television visual effects. And... lol.. again is pretty "inexpensive".
