I was raised a Catholic but ever since I have been able to make my own decisions I have been declaring myself a "free agent" when it comes to religion. I was raised a Catholic but ever since I have been able to make my own decisions I have been declaring myself a "free agent" when it comes to religion. I believe on a higher entity, or God if that makes sense, but I disagree with any organized religion. They are man made, and carry an agenda which is to control the general public. If you think this song is about racism, you're totally wrong. Fela is talking about Nigerians oppressing other Nigerians. Also about modern Africans being conditioned into following the customs of Europeans and the Middle East when in reality those customs are not native to them. I will NEVER deny that there are truely decent good muslims in the world. But the sad news is.....they are only 5% out of 100%. Now compare that figure among members of other faiths & you will see the good ones are more than a mere 5%. I mean, I don't see loads of diverse folks from other non-muslim faiths & race rushing to live in say, Northern Nigerian, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Gulf states, middle eastern muslims states. But they will live in a christian country though. I think we both know why.

All Nigerians know of Fela Kuti.. Moreover all Africans born before the 80s most likely know who Fela is. he was a revolutionary and visionary during the early post-colonial years.

You need to have faith in the inherent goodness of the individual. Fela expounded that principle as has many before him and that, almost in its entirety, conferred upon them the title of prophets.
