My door has no doorknob inside and out because my brother broke it. So basically, you can just push it or pull it without turning pretty much anything. My cat Ramen is clever. He just jumps at the hole and the door opens. It only works if the door is for PUSHING though.

we keep latch hooks on our lower cupboard doors for this exact reason. the cats have figured out how to get into anything. one morning we awoke to find checkers in one of the top cupboards sleeping with the dishes. so now we are getting hooks for the top ones as well.
