Well you can look at this in 2 different ways:You can look at this positively and see that Sublime and Rome are bringing these songs back to life and drawing smiles on the faces of those who love Sublime(just like guigomora said); also for the fact that if they went on tour this is the closest you can get to seeing Sublime in concert today,or you can beat around the bush hating the fact that you would much rather the original than to hear these songs come back to life.I look at it the first way.

Brad was a god, simply a musical genius. But bud and eric were and still are an amazing rythym section. They'll never be as good as they were when brad was still around, but what ive heard with this rome dude playing, is about as close as those of us who where four when brad died, are going to get to seeing them play.
It makes me wanna cry. Sublime isn't Sublime without Bradley. You can replace a guitarist, bassist, or drummer and receive the same sound and a similar vibe, but the singer is really the one who touches the soul of the listener. I'm so used to picturing Bradley jumping around the stage at a house party every time I listen to Sublime, it's gonna feel extremely awkward whenever they release a CD, demo, or start touring with Rome. Dude, Brad wrote every single sublime song ever recorded. Bud is an awesome drummer but had little input in the songwriting process. And in fact, Bud was absent for large portions of sublime's career due to various substance issues. He was barely on 40 oz. to freedom, and was replaced multiple times. Eric is a great bass player, but look at his original output without Brad i.e. Long Beach Short Bus, LBDAS's original material (which pretty much sucked).

I saw one of their first shows, and it was only a year after brad died. The band were awesome, they killed it, and finished the show with the crowd singing Santeria. It was amazing, and the love for brad was everywhere. You missed it. It sucks, but I'm never gonna see Led Zep either, just the way it is.

Theyre touring as "sublime w/rome" how is that different from LBDA? other than using sublime in the title...all peoples need to realize that this is a good thing, as long as they don't record sublime originals over again. and as long as focus on new music as "sublime w/rome" does anybody have a problem with the dead touring without Jerry? it keeps the music and vibe alive, and those individuals that have passed are alive through the music.

Well you can look at this in 2 different ways:You can look at this positively and see that Sublime and Rome are bringing these songs back to life and drawing smiles on the faces of those who love Sublime(just like guigomora said); also for the fact that if they went on tour this is the closest you can get to seeing Sublime in concert today,or you can beat around the bush hating the fact that you would much rather the original than to hear these songs come back to life.I look at it the first way.

Brad was a god, simply a musical genius. But bud and eric were and still are an amazing rythym section. They'll never be as good as they were when brad was still around, but what ive heard with this rome dude playing, is about as close as those of us who where four when brad died, are going to get to seeing them play.

It makes me wanna cry. Sublime isn't Sublime without Bradley. You can replace a guitarist, bassist, or drummer and receive the same sound and a similar vibe, but the singer is really the one who touches the soul of the listener. I'm so used to picturing Bradley jumping around the stage at a house party every time I listen to Sublime, it's gonna feel extremely awkward whenever they release a CD, demo, or start touring with Rome. I still wanna wish them good luck and I'll give them a try.

Dude, Brad wrote every single sublime song ever recorded. Bud is an awesome drummer but had little input in the songwriting process. And in fact, Bud was absent for large portions of sublime's career due to various substance issues. He was barely on 40 oz. to freedom, and was replaced multiple times. Eric is a great bass player, but look at his original output without Brad i.e. Long Beach Short Bus, LBDAS's original material (which pretty much sucked).

Nope, Pepper are a garbage fourth rate sublime rip off. Listen what you hope Sublime will do with the Rome, they already did for years as the Long Beach Dub Allstars. It was awesome. I saw one of their first shows, and it was only a year after brad died. The band were awesome, they killed it, and finished the show with the crowd singing Santeria. It was amazing, and the love for brad was everywhere. You missed it. It sucks, but I'm never gonna see Led Zep either, just the way it is.
