  • English Translation:

How much anger have I kept especially for you?

    You are dear to me

How much bitterness have I collected especially for you?

    You are dearest to me

I wanted to know how to concede to you

  • @yogensha Thank you, she has a beautiful voice and the songs in english i really enjoy and understand. I appreciate the translation anyways

  • How many thoughts, parting, hate?

In the middle of all this grows for us love

How many stories over the years?

If only I had known how transparent I was to you

I wanted to know how to lie to you

How many times have you forgiven me?

    Did I forgive you too?

  • It was the clear words that got away from me, slipping beneath language

I wanted to know how to talk with you

I wanted to know how to tell you

I wanted to know how to be for you

I wanted to know how to move you

I wanted to know how to love you

  • This song is so beautiful. I don't have a clue what it's about and I don't want to know. The mystery keeps me wondering and coming back. That's whats great about listening to a song written in a foreign language.

  • Is this hebrew?

  • yeah it's hebrew

  • Um, no. Hebrew and Yiddish are two very different languages.

  • Sorry I know for a fact they aren't.

  • What aren't?

  • Hebrew and Yiddish are the same language. Hebrew is the writing and Yiddish is the speech. Look it up.

  • My grandfather and my mother speak Yiddish, my father and I speak Hebrew. They are not the same language.

  • I am israely, 100%. I speak fluent hebrew and barely any yiddish. They are absolutely different languages.

  • You and your facts fail. Hebrew is a very different language than Yiddish.

  • Yiddish and Hebrew are two different languages. Yiddish is a mix of Hebrew, Polish, and German, and is written in the same alphabet as Hebrew, and they share some of the same words.

  • Im Israely. Thats absolutely not true. Yiddish is a completely different language.

  • i've wanted to know to lie to you x4

how much times did you forgave me

did i forgave to you to

    specifically the bright words

slided from me to under my lip

i've wanted to know to love you x4

    yes i know the sentence

i've wanted to know to talk to you sounds kinda strange...

    but so is in hebrew

    love this song!

  • So much anger i saveded especially for you you are important to me so much bitterness i've collected especially for you you are the "espacelliest" for me i've wanted to know to give up to you x4 so much thoughts break up hatred inside all of this grows to us love so much stories over the years just if i knew how much i'm clear to you
  • Hebrew is such a beautiful language.

  • yael naim kicks ass!!!!!!

  • I wanted to know how to speak with you....x4

i wanted to know how to tell you..

i wanted to be for you,

    i wanted to excite you

i wanted to know how to love you..."

  • thank you

  • How much thoughts, seperation, hate, and within all this, love grows for us

So much stories all over the years...

if only I knew how much I am transparent for you

I wanted to know how to lie to you...X2

How much times you forgave me, Did I forgive you? It was the clear words that got away from me, slipping beneath my lip...

  • Ok, I tries to translate it, the best I could....!:D

"How much angers I have saved especially for you...you're dear to me.

How much bitterness haver I gathered especially for you....

    You're dear to me.

I wanted to know how to give you up....

I wanted to know how to give you up....

  • Another beautiful song from Yaël Naim.

  • Definitively my fav'.

Luv that song, the voice, the lyrics, the music (violin !!!!)

  • Toda raba!!!

  • i adore this song

  • bonjour... that's all u know. ^-^ I went buy the CD yesterday at first i thought she was saying "dark leather belt"

  • "Bonjour" is French. Yael Naim is singing this song in Hebrew. Just thought I'd point that out... I don't speak Hebrew either, though -- I just know it when I hear it.

  • this song is only made that much better by knowing what she is saying! i love this song!

  • The most moving peice of music I have heard in years. I really dont think I want to know what she is singing about it somehow adds to it for me not understanding

  • I agree. I think that her voice explain everything.

  • levatel is to cancel, levater is to give up or to forego

  • i cannot find the lyrics to this song ANYWHERE

  • I'm bad at exact translations, and i feel if i gave them it might ruin the beauty of this song... but she's singing about how expensive her love is to her love... the first two verses goes:

how many pockets did i save specifically for you,

    you're expensive for me

I believe levater means to cancel... and i think she's saying she wants to cancel him... but i might be mistaken in this... sorry... anyone else want to give it a shot?

i really love her voice, and the melancholy beauty, phew... :)

  • Levater is to give up- so she is saying "I wanted to know how to give up on you"- the second verse, is "I wanted to know how to lie to you" (leshaker, from sheker, lie). The final verse is "I wanted to know how to talk with you, I wanted to know how to explain to you, to be with you, to ask of you- to love you with you" if you want additional translation, ask me [= (lived in Tel-Aviv for two years [=

  • how do you say "i wanted to know how to give up on you" in the language that it's in in the song? like what are the lyrics to that part?

  • ratziti lada'at levater lecha

technically it means "i wanted to know how to give up "to you" but hebrew and english are constructed differently, and it makes sense in hebrew although it doesn't in english. (Any israels reading this and think im wrong, lemme know, its been a few years since i left israel)

  • levater lecha does mean 'give up to you' like you translated but does not mean 'give up on you'. It means that she wants to give up some of her anger and bitterness towards him. I think it is pretty clear from the rest of the song that she isn't giving up on him

  • Does anyone have the translation?

  • Wow...Awesome!
