  • I love me some R&B, but the Hollies win this hands down. I really don't like this version.

  • wow, I like this much more than the cover, it's got so much more soul in it

  • The Isleys wrote and recorded this tune, but the Human Beinz version was a big hit. The Isleys recorded a great version of "Twist and Shout", but the Beatles took theirs to the top. The Isleys wrote and recorded "Shout", but both Tommy James & the Shondells and the Animal House version hit bigger than they did.

It wasn't until "This Old Heart Of Mine", "Rock Me A Little While" and "It's Your Thing" that they started to get the props they deserved.

  • Human Beinz's cover is better.

  • more proof that just cus u did it first it doesn't mean u necessarily did it best

  • This kind of shows how "soulfullness," has its limits. While soulful singing is good, too many soulfull tricks used at once kind of feels cluttered... the Human Beinz version stayed on beat, which made it more smooth.

  • @ryukXsayu27 So is "more smooth" more better?

  • @scooterboi17 Smoother than the singing part of this version of "Nobody But Me" is, for people who are used to steadier music, like I am.

  • Search jF_1oikPxWM

  • The version you guys are looking for is posted bu SoulShackLondon

  • the office did it better

  • i found a slighty different version of "Nobody But Me" that is by the Isley Brothers, but is different from this one. It starts of with the 'No, no, no' instead of 'C'mon'. It is closer to the Human Beinz version and is in my opinion a better version than this one in the video (although this is great). Anyone know what's up with that?

  • I bet that one dislike is from the Isley Brothers sister who got zero fame her whole life. Jealous bitch.

  • Both are classic's one raw and one refined, awesome tunes to get those feet sliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiding

  • The Human Beinz version is good but the original is more soulful. Ron Isley sings the hell out of this.

  • The Isley Bros have a career that spans over 50 years. The Human Beinz were a one-hit-wonder with a song they took from the Isleys. That ought to tell you something ...

  • I think the Ep features the great "no no no no no" intro... too bad I can't find it on YT ; Isley Bros are unbeatle at that game... only the Contours did crazy stuff like this...

  • @mtwallet OMG so I'm not crazy? I wanted to find the 'no no no' intro one on YT here and am having no luck. I love this version but the other Isley Brothers version of this song is WAY better. Pretty sure the Human Beinz got inspiration to cover this song from the other version I can't find.

  • both versions are good, so stop making utter nonsense discussions about wich one is better and such. It is a personal opinion! BTW i found this record bewteen my fathers collection of LP's/Vinyl ;)

  • This has way more soul and deep groove than the Human Beinz cover.

  • The Isley Brotheres are SO important to music it's actually unbelievable. they deserve so much more recognition then they have.

  • The Human Beinz version is excellent, no doubt. But for me, it sounds like watered-down milk compared to the Isleys....

The Dogs, a 70's French punk band, also do a rippin' cover on their "Different" LP.

  • THEY the real thing - WHAT thing, I dont noe

  • all the human beinz did was take something someone else created and reved it up,late 60s style...i luv both versions

  • I love both records equally.

  • the beinz gave it a steady bass line and i loved that......this is great

  • i like the Human Beinz version better, but the Isley Brothers have had a better career. They've been going at it for 50+ years. Something artists today don't have the talent or the love of music to do.

  • I like the Human Beinz Version better, but of course the ORGINAL IS ALWAYS GREAT! :) X

  • the same song in the new Nike ad..sounds like a new version tho not as good as human beinz either

  • why a white man always gotta take a black man's hit a make a cover to upstage them? they did that with 'my girl' too man !! (disclaimer: this comment is for comedic purposes, not to be serious)

  • A lot, lot better than the Human Beinz.

  • most awesome vocal performance ever, liisten to those screams

  • Nice track..

  • KILL....BILL.... LOL!!!

  • Isleys not only recorded but wrote it too. But growing up the Human Beinz version was the one. Wonderama usta play it when I was a kid and that was it. All the kids from the Bronx dancing to the Human Beinz version. I grew up in LA and usta say man those kids from the Bronx can dance. Only where is the Bronx I would say? Thx 4 posting the original.

  • i like this version. i think its the best one!

  • cherrs from Indonesia

  • just cus' somebody did it first it does not mean they did it best.. there are many examples of this throughout music history.

  • I like oth versions equally. This version makes me want to do the twist.

  • this a great song but i like human beinz version better

  • God made Calvin

  • sorry but the human beinz version is 200x better. That version is classic rock at its absolute best.

  • the office

  • In the 60s there was a tradition of white artists remaking black soul, rock & roll, and rhythm and blues songs, often times while short changing the black artists who wrote the original. What sets the Human Beinz cover apart from that is that they clearly made a distinct interpretation of this great song, rather than just remaking it with a white face. It had a totally different feel. Both classics

  • I dunno - I like The Dickies' version the best... just sayin

  • @chaseheitmann Thanks for turning me on th the Dickies version. It is great!

  • This is mildly ironic.

  • @Ilovelucy14 The people that didn't thumb this up apparently didn't see the irony! ^_^

  • great track, and the one by Human Beinz. RIP Marvin

  • R.I.P Marvin .....

  • This is incredible.

I thought The Human Beinz' version was the original...(I usually know these things!)

    WOW thanks for posting, AWESOME!!!!!

  • White boys can be BAD....but the Isleys thought of it. I give a 10 to the writers and a 10 to the covers.

  • this is really cool. the human beinz version is cool too. but the dickies version, that is the coolest. i mean yeah this one is great and shit, but listen to the dickies one, and then you'll see what i mean lol.

  • @40fluidounces yep the dickies did it the best!

  • I think this is musically better than the HB vers., but you can't beat the rock of the HB vers. (esp. the vocals at the start) - that's all that's missing here, and it's just a genre preference for me

  • Cool.

  • I like the HB version better.

  • WOW! This is great!

    Thanks for posting it.

  • i think both versions are awsome

  • Human Beinz version better?!?!?! All of you guys are on crack cocaine. Is it good? Is it a hell of a drug? Must be! You can't fuck with the Isleys and I have yet to hear someone outdo them on their own stuff. Not only that but I think 3/5 the Isleys own other people's stuff after they do it. James Taylor 'Don't Let me Be Lonely Tonight'? Psshh, belongs to the Isleys now.

  • I think The Human Beinz version is better.

  • The Human Beinz version is much better. However, the I Bros "Shout" is a classic for the ages!! Rock & Roll FOREVER!!!

  • Comment removed

  • you'd never know they were the same song. remember they were recorded in 2 different times the music sort of changed around 1964-65, i like the human beinz version better, but i also like this version too.

  • human beinz did it better.

  • @Eyedea818 Impossible, cause if wasnt the isleys brothers, human beinz never would do a version of nothing.

  • @punkdu thats not true cause there wouldve been a possibility that the human beinz wrote it!

  • @Eyedea818 you must be joking. Have you heard the SCREAMS?

  • @nightingalerider yes and rather its by the dickies or some other punk band or metal or even by a mainstream artist they wouldnt have shit on the human beinz version! "Nobody But" them can do it! "Nobody"

  • @Eyedea818 maybe its me but this don't sound like English. Anyway don't worry, not anyone is allowed to understand rock'n'roll.

  • @Eyedea818 fuck you

  • @KREEPYKRAWLLY is that an invitation?

  • @Eyedea818 yeah sure go do half a tune like the tons isley brothers did then speak

  • @LisergicoRojo what the fuck does have to with hb being better than ib? lol

  • @Eyedea818 cuz what you are the fucking king of music know-it-all? "human beinz did it better". Oh yeah ur a real smart critic, made a really good argument. fuck off

  • @LisergicoRojo like yours was any better? "go do half a tune like the tons isley brothers did then speak" oh wow i mean come on sounds like your ass hurt as if i just took a shit on everyting you value in life! lol and youre the one who wrote me dumb shit so why dont you fuck off and cry about how someone like me struck a nerve with you over a FUCKING SONG on the internet no less! lol and it wasnt an arguement to begin with either you dumb bitch was simply stating my opinion! 2 different things!

  • @Eyedea818 I agree but. the only reason the human beinz got more credit for this song was bcuz the isley brothers were black. U gotta remember racism was a huge problem back in the 60's

  • @Eyedea818 and george thorogood even better. ;>

  • I haven't heard this in years. I used to have it on UK Stateside, and Jobete1959 is right, this sounds like a completely different mix if I remember it correctly.

  • O'kelly Isley wrote and sings this song!

  • I never knew these guys did this song first! I love the Human Beinz version, but this is pretty cool, too.

  • 1:33 to the end of song = WOW

  • This track isn't the 45 mix it's taken from a later CD.

The original 45 didn't have the intro music, it went straight into "No, No, No"

And the Isley Brothers track you're after could be "Tell Me It's Just A Rumor" from their days at Motown.

It was a London Mod Club Anthem, hope this helps

  • trill

  • I was at a soul night and the dj played a track off an isley bros lp and it was great,my mate told me the track name and that it was a rare n.soul number that I would never get,,,I can,t remember the track,it was a floorfiller,,,can anyonehelp?cheers

  • Thank You...Always wanted to hear the original

  • who else has done this song thats not the original obviously

  • love the isleys early stuff, fantastic x Di
