i remember when i meet this guy after his freshman season he would shut up about his 14 sack he got as a freshmen but when u think about it he was a lil freshman
Smart decision. Go to Stanford, win a national championship, AND get an excellent education. One reason why Stanford has a difficult time recruiting is that even athletes are required to meet their rigorous admissions standards. Kudos to James Vaughn for showing his strength as both an athlete and a student.
i wonder if anyone that is commenting on James choice to go to Stanford actually know him like that. james is an extremely smart person, i would know because i sit next to him in AP Lit., and he picked Stanford because it's not only a good school academic wise, but for football too, quit overanalyzing things
i played fo rnorth springs for 2 yrs den moved to rockdale county, but wen i played at north springs, we wud get our asses tapped by them tucker tigers
this kid is extremely smart and driven. I believe he will either pick stanford or maybe ga tech. I hope he doesnt waste his mental capacity on a menial school like bama, ugay, or osu. As always, do what you think is right because it is.
the sec is not were the *real* players are are you kidding me. the last 10 super bowls MVPS 3 players have been from the SEC and 4 from the big ten. anyway i heard this guy has buckeye roots and i heard his dads a buckeye fan. smart guy
Ohio State is a joke when it comes to putting out defensive players. Will smith is probably the only decent defensive player that's come out of loserville. What's Tressel's pitch? HEY COME HERE AND LOSE BOWL GAMES WITH ME!
I graduated from Tucker in '98. My cousin is the defensive coordinator for Tucker. Bryan Lamar. I hope this kid does well in his college career and don't make dumb as mistakes like LeGarrette Blount did this past Thursday.
haha in the last 10 super bowls 3 mvps have been from the SEC and 4 from the big ten. plus that damn spread offense doesnt do shit in the pros. look at Tebow now
Looks like he chose the conference where they hand out *REAL* degrees, a well- thought-out long term decision for Vaughters. Although I can see why it'd be perplexing for you SEC fans, he actually chose to get a real education...? I guess that does "suck".
My comment was about football, not academics. But just so you know, SEC schools don't "hand out" degrees, they award them. Vaughters chose Stanford because he can't be a star in the SEC if he wants to focus on maintaining a 4.0 too.
They don't hand out degrees, but they certainly hand out acceptance letters. When you have 60, 70, 80+% acceptance rates, you're definitely not taking the nation's premier students, nor creating the type of reputable academic atmosphere that true STUDENT-athletes are going to hold in high regard, Vaughters seemed to realize that. Lol he chose Stanford to "maintain a 4.0 GPA", while competing in an intercollegiate sport, at STANFORD? Are you really that naive???
And I'm saying you're an idiot if you have to justify Vaughters choosing Stanford simply to have "more time to study" or trying to claiming he picked Stanford over an academically inferior SEC school, because he didn't want to play "hard". Also idiotic is the notion that they're not training as much. The NCAA holds all intercollegiate football programs to the same training duration guidelines, of which 99% of the head coaches try to maximize. So you can cut the bullshit.
What insult? I made a generalized conditional statement. For example, you're an idiot if you jump out of a plane without a parachute. Likewise, you are an idiot if you think Vaughters simply picked Stanford for "more studying time", which isn't a valid point because of similar NCAA guidelines to all football programs. Also you're an idiot if you think a conditional statement is a direct insult.
Nice way of avoiding addressing the previous comment, though by acting insulted.
@FightOn4Evr You know man, you're kinda right. He chose the school with the better academic program instead of the school with the better football team. It's good to see a kid from Tucker do something with his life... besides making a career in football.
Dawg? Is that Fresno St. Georgia, or Mississippi St.? You can go anywhere and be a Bulldog, a Wildcat, or a Tiger. But you can only go one place and be a BUCKEYE!!!
