Are there really still people in this world who blame natural disasters on human behaviour as a punishment from god?? I thought the middle ages finished during the 1400's.
@CuteMcBeauty Pat Robertson in the US is well known for this. He blamed the Haiti quake on the Haitian morals and claimed he prayed the hurricanes away from his Va. home.
@CuteMcBeauty Oh he is much worse than an idiot because he had his own TV station a university and millions of faithful followers, Check out the Christen Broadcast Network if you want to see his message.
@Gamesman001 I think I'll just take your word for it. I've had my own doze of fanatical horseshit with the "apocalypse that never was" to indulge in a channel dedicated to religious zealots. I mean, these freaks call muslims "fanatical"... and what happens when that happens? Kids in Norway start blowing things up in the name of Jesus Christ and calling themselves "crusaders"! One is just as bad as the other. I swear, some people should have a mental checkup before joining ANY religion.
@CuteMcBeauty Don't blame you one bit something about religion seems to shut down parts of the brain. I used to live not far from the campus of CBN University they actually had a Christen Heavy Metal program. Ugh. But if you could fake the cant you could get a good start in music.Had a roommate once who's parents were part of that group and he had scars he claimed were from a demon. He was one messed up dude and i believe so far in the closet even he didn't know.
they used the richter scale to measure the earthquake when scientists have been using the MMS (moment magnitude scale) for years. I didnt feel this earthquake or any others (then again i slept through the hemel hempstead fuel depot explosion.)
That whole earthquake was cringeworthy. 24 hour coverage of an earthquake that, at worst, tipped over a few garden chairs. I even felt it, it just felt like somebody had a hand on my chair and rattled it a little.
And the news covered it for 24 whole hours... IT WAS NOTHING!
A bit like the 48 hour coverage we recently had about Obama swatting a fly. Who gives a fuck? There are more important things to report on.
In the recent Chinese Earthquake the BBC asked for viewers to e-mail in their experiences of it and generally it went along the line of: 'My whole family is dead. I was buried under the remains of my house for 4 days before I was rescued and now I have cholerea.' We HAVE to pay a licence fee in the UK just to own a TV and then they take that licence fee and have 24hour news that has to broadcast crap like this. I woke up felt the earthquake. Thought that's a quake and went back to sleep. Shrug.
This is golden!
