The way you play shows that you really feel and love the piece, and that's all that matters. I'd ignore any comments that say 'it should be legato' or 'there is no staccato in Bach'. Even if Bach wouldn't have played this invention detached or staccato, that's no reason why you can't. I doubt Bach would mind if heard you now. You have a real interpretation here. Keep it up!

Why are you playng it in staccato?? It must b in legato. I learned it now few years ago.

@MsSnowBeauty His touch is not staccato, it is simply slightly detached and articulated. Are you aware of what a true staccato sounds like? To interpret Bach on a modern piano is not simply a case of choosing between legato or stacatto. The touch can be extraordinarily nuanced and varied. To say Bach "must be legato" is retarded.

Very nice. In my opinion it could be a little bit faster, and the eigth notes could be a little sharper, but on inventions just about everybody plays them different, so you didn't do anything wrong.

I am playing the piano again after about 10 years (I played in my youth, everyday for 14 years). This is a tough piece to start back up with!  I actually had to break out the metronome because of the phrasing.

Nice playing. Don't worry about the person who said why is it staccato. The articulation and dynamics for Bach is not set in stone. It is a bit like jazz in that respect

My violin teacher gave me this piece spilt between me and two other players and the night of the concert, I screwed it up..

I am now attempting to get it right after 4 years of not playing.

@kimielle13 There are no slurs in Bach's scores, because back in his time they didn't use to ornament music like that. Although yeah, you're right - the standard would be to play those notes in the main theme legato, while the accompaniments are most likely marcato

Beautifully played, beautiful tone. Very straight forward and allowing Bach to play himself. The only thing I didn't like is your getting up right after playing or even before you were done and you walked away. Maybe because you're 14 yrs. old. But you are very talented.

This was a very engaging performance.Played with a beautiful detached feel as the style demands.Both hands were equal in volume and the ornaments very tight. Your dynamics were convincing and you played with real purpose at the end.

weell....bach didn´t wrote the temple precisle... in my point of view you can play faster....no problem...but..in my opinion much faster and not clear you can´t really hear all things that bach did on this peace...

I have to say i love your tempo and poise...Im not totally convinced of all the melody notes being detached at the beginning. At least not AS detached as you played them. I agree with you that the highly articulated sound works well in bach but I think here as its the first statement of the principal theme that you could make it semi-legato as opposed to staccato - detache - or slightly longer staccato.

Are you posting to get technical advice, adulation or criticism? Your postings are really nice but I like the grand piano best. Also, that contemporary hat on backwards style is so contemporary that it reminds me of just how barren the world is of music creativity. In the future it will symbolize the second dark ages.. the time when they had everything but created nothing. (musically) That's why you are playing music of a different time.

Your english is really pretty good. What I meant by dark ages was the time in history when things were awful. Now we have six billion people but there are no Beethovens or Bachs. Why not? Because people today are awful. They are creating "music" that represents an awful time.. so their music is awful too. It says nothing that makes humanity feel better. I loved your interpretation when it came to note duration. I hate listening to these Bach Inventions that are legato. He would have put a big old slur over the notes if he wanted them slurred. All to often piano players seem to fall into this trap of messy note duration, but you did'nt. Congrats.
