Hey guys, please help me out as I'm an Android noob.

I flashed this rom but its not running anything as smooth as in this video

Its extremely laggy, scrolling between screens is choppy at times and smooth at others, but overall significantly slower than what the video shows.

I have the latest Radio and SPL and the Amon-Ra recovery console and an ext3 partition.

What am I doing wrong?

Size has nothing to do with speed. Class of the sd card does though =p

128MB can be good. Doesn't really "help" anything though.

Some people have told me that 64MB speeds it up a little. Who knows though LOL

Are you using a MyTouch? I don't think that ROM is compatible with the MyTouch =(

Try doing a search for Evil Hero ROM. Its one of the best for the MyTouch =)

HULU!?!? Wow.. Ummm... I think Hulu uses Flash 10 and NO PHONE has that right now...

They might even use their own type of flash player... Not sure.

Most Hero ROM's do support flash though....

I'm not sure about unlocking by flashing a ROM... I would think it would since you are "jailbreaking" it when you root...

Even with no root, he can just call T-Mo and ask them for the unlock code. =)

EVERY ROM has auto sync so that shouldn't be a problem....

And it depends with what you mean by "chug". If you get a regular donut ROM then that wont chug at all..

But if you have a Hero ROM then that might "chug" a little... although its SO damn pretty.

I would check out both ROMs and see which ones your prefer.

Best Donut ROM would probably be Cyanogen's line.

Best Hero would be MLIGN's line... =)

Oh! Its easy! Just long press on the item then chose "exclude". That will exclude it if you "end all" or click on the widget.

If you have AUTO END ALL turned on, you're gonna have to go into Exclude list and add the items you don't want to be ended every hour or 2 hours... =p

Hey played around with it, followed your settings for SetCpu, that sped it up nicely. Although with tack manager I have to be cautious and keep closing background apps, otherwise not really usable... dialed emergency once by mistake lag was so bad... but getting use to it, is there other roms (1.6 based?) that can operate with the radio and spl versions, need something more stable.

I've actually stopped even using Task Manager, believe it or not... I find that the ROM is quick on my phone and quicker when my most used apps are open in the background. =p

No 1.6 ROMs YET. Soon though... I'm sure. Sit tight! =D

Oh and I had with Modaco's ROM a problem with the "brightness level" widget..when I changed my screenbrightness it just went back to what it was.

Bightness widgets I don't believe work on Hero. I remember trying a LONG time ago and it wasn't compatible. =(

Class 6, k might repartition thru partition magic, wipe and flash again. Ya you were right, when I unplugged it sped up a bit.

What's you settings in setcpu? and swap and ext settings?

Swap is 96MB (use Amon Ra' new recovery)

ext3 but thinking of downgrading to ext2 (heard people having better results)

Still experiencing some lag, got the G1 like you. Some suggestions? I did wipe and reflash, not sure if the comp cache/sd cache/ ext2/3 is working, properly... used RA's to partition, and upgrade.
