  • The start is like the original version.....don't care about them...they're just stupid....

  • For the love of god! what key is this in?

  • @collinmealanso1997 E min i think

  • This song is so epic, I broke my e string trying to play this :(

  • illuminati above his head :S

  • thumbs up if you just broke a string!!!

  • @dani1928 That 2.5 note bend is a killer. I haven't yet but I predict it soon.

  • For 7:36 minutes, I´m feel like God (sorry my poor english)

  • MY FYCKING GOD IT'S WTF? THIS IS AWESOME! OMG!

  • It's unique! it's awesome!

  • thanks dude for sharing this, and thanks to all who share the backing tracks, it's really helpful, to a lot of guitar players who can't afford to make their own backing track, thanks dude, hope you watch some of my videos...

  • The allseeing illuminati eye? :-/

    Anyway Vai is unique.

  • i was looking for a backing track. thanks man

  • anybody hear someone yelling "yes!" around 4:35 ? wonder who that is...

  • Great backing track! Now I just have to learn how to play it.

  • wats that interference at 2;56 sounds like some talkin

  • This is the genuine backing track that Vai used on the album with minor tweaks. He released it on a CD/book combo: "Hal Leonard Steve Vai Signature Licks Style & Techniques" I own the book. The book even says "Play along with the actual backing tracks from Passion and Warfare & Sex & Religion especially modified by Steve Vai!"

There should be no debate as to how good the track is. It's perfect. Unless you have a problem with how Vai himself did it.

  • @wampaku2............I agree, no-one should be complaining about the track. It's perfect. And you can get the track in "Vai Naked Tracks" CD that he released.

  • Yep! it goes from E Aeolian to an F Lydian

  • I must appologize, i said F Major 7 5b, however the chord is more correctly called F Major 7 #11. This is because the natural 5th is still found in the chord so it cannot be called a b5

  • @N0V4S74R But wouldn't the F Major 7 #11 require a Lydian mode?

  • @BadHorsie2008 yes, F lydian. F lydian is found starting on the 4th ascending note in C Major right?

  • masterpiece

  • i just like to jam to this track regardless of what i play :)

  • The drum hit at the beginning is 1 (as in the first beat of a 4/4 measure. Pause during 2, start the intro lick on 3 and you're all set. It's simple. Anyone attempting to play Vai should be able to count in 4/4.

  • @cordanscedo the song is in 2/2

  • @ZachTHEeuphorian Are you sure? It doesn't sound like it's in 2/2. I don't have the sheet, but I think it's in 4/4.

  • It's primarily composed in Lydian, guys

  • Perfect !! i love it :)

  • Seems like this song is in E Phrygian isn't it?

  • @PhilosopherOnWeed i belive he plays e pentatonic

  • @PhilosopherOnWeed its most of the song is in e minor (aeolian mode) but the 2nd chord in both of the 2 progressions of this song are F major 7 flat 5 which is definately not in e minor (its found in F lydian mode), meaning that a key change occurs at the 2nd chord changing e minor into e phrygian then reverts back to e minor. in short if ur trying to solo over this, use the notes in e minor except for that 2nd chord in the progressions... btw the fade out in the end is in e dorian

  • @N0V4S74R Hey thx dude, I already had some troubles with the changes, I only found out the E Aeolian and E Phrygian. Thx for explaining about the progression man...I appreciate.

  • @PhilosopherOnWeed any time friend

  • @N0V4S74R So does that mean the key changes to C at the second chord?

  • @BadHorsie2008 yup you could say that it changes to C Major. the E Phrygian mode stars on the 3 ascending note in the C Major key. the only reason I said its changes to E Phrygian is cause i play guitar and i assume anyone curious about the keys in this video is as well. basically i explained it that way so u have somewhere to start and don't have to change finger positions, just the pattern ur playing and then figure things out from there

  • its a 4 count after the snare hit. if you think thats the hard part, your in for some real trouble.

  • This is great!!! How can I burn this onto a CD?

  • @thebibleisalltrue download it from youtube

  • @slashy04 Thanks, I will look into how to do the download.

  • this is perfect

  • The start is fine, anyone having problems should listen to the G3 1996 live version to get how the timing works.

  • the start its perfect you just need to listen to the original record and you will get it thank you tucktimosprime

  • cheers for posting this mate. I've been playing on this for days. awesome! Actually the reason why i like this particular one so much is because of the beginning. Well done!

  • This is the actual track from the album. If you are saying it is not perfect maybe you should talk to Steve. It came from the book/CD "Steve Vai Guitar Styles and Techniques" From the book:

This Steve Vai guitar book and CD comes from one of the world's truly great guitarists. Play along with the actual backing tracks from Passion and Warfare and Sex and Religion, especially modified by Steve Vai himself! Learn the secrets behind a guitar virtuoso then play along like the pro himself. 96 pages

  • the start is perfectly alright. marvelous job tuctimosprime.

  • God bless ypu :P

  • Hey dude.. I just wanna thank you big time for all your backing tracks.. I'm a guitarist who sometimes uses Guitar Pro for playin along with at home, and u can never get close to the real thing like this! Been looking a while for some stuff like this man. Subscribed! And thank you!

    Rock on!

  • dude people are just making suggestions, quit being such a little bitch

  • all you guys complain do know that this is THE backing track right? steve took out the guitar on this. its called naked tracks.

  • I really don't know what the fuck people are complaining about, this was a great backing track. I've been improvising over it all day, no problems at all.

  • At 4:36 you hear somebody yell Yes

  • melhor cs d vai

  • it'd be a bit nicer if it had counting in but really good

  • your kidding right,,i think the start is perfect..

  • nah it's great,

but I've been listening to Vai for years and I still can't count in the beat perfectly on my own.

    I meant,

    before the tom,

    like 1 2 3 4

  • @tucktimosprime i agree, counting in would be nice

  • the count in is extremely easy whats everyones problem lol?

  • @tucktimosprime this other guy has a better version of this.. the backing track is the same, but more clear...and theres no intro drum thing on his.. the start on your video messed me up a bit lol

  • if your having probs with the start of this track, then you shouldnt be trying to play vai, stick to the bon jovi stuff,,lol,,,its perfect..and as for some other guys backing tracks,,i dont give a fuck,,im not competing with anybody..

  • @tucktimosprime w.e dude, its not "perfect" cuz if it was, you wouldn't have that snare at the start. plus your backing track is kinda quiet.. if i was to take it and do a recording of it, id have to up the volume in the mix.. just saying..

  • @sourcehacker hey, if you don't like it theres pleny of other videos... and the snare is just there to help the count in which by the way is not difficult.

  • @tucktimosprime

Yeah the drum part at the start is actually part of the song so... I'm not sure what sourcehacker is talking about.

  • @tucktimosprime yh man, dunno wt these lot r on about, pretty much perfect as far as i can hear!!

  • @tucktimosprime dude your backing track is amazing anyway! there is no competition!

  • @tucktimosprime +1 to this, start is absolutely spot on. I can't nail the middle section yet, still working on it, but this is the backing track I always practice to and it's perfect throughout.

Agreed completely that if the start is throwing you off you really shouldn't be trying Vai, there's no need for a count in and if there was it'd put me off the song completely.

  • @tucktimosprime the drum intro is to early

  • @sourcehacker

This particular backing track is the exact backing track that Steve uses in the studio. It was part of a CD/book called "Steve Vai guitar styles and techniques" the preface of the book was written by Steve Vai and he said it was that exact studio backing track with the exception of the end of the track. It included a couple extra minutes of synth for you to improv over if you felt so inclined. How can anyone have a "better version" than Steve himself?

  • @sourcehacker I have seen your Videos, and They are Shite, Learn to Play Better then Comment Freely on How Rubbish backing tracks, are,

  • @tucktimosprime Dude don't listen to any of these fucks, its perfect.

  • @tucktimosprime agreed, its perfect.

  • cool

  • Thanks. Really good backing track to start with Vai's stuff

  • Amazing

  • oh ,,.... yes

  • sick thanks!

  • Oh hell i HAVE LOT OF FUN WITH THIS ON . yOUR THE BEST

  • thanks Dude

  • thanks...

  • u re my hero, thank you
