So what about previous cons with Star Wars participants doing dancing and singing as part of their skit? Should you condemn them to belong in a dancing competition? And if you haven't noticed, this is a depiction of Jedi vs Sith... and what do they do? Why, it just happens they do Martial arts? Go fig? A pretty accurate depiction of Jedi and Sith, duh.

and yes i have seen the past star wars participants doing dancing and light shows and stuff, and id say the same thing about them.

i think ppl have forgotten what a costume contest is all about.

@Gabethepirate You have your own biases, so be it. But don't wreck on ppl's costumes because they choose to entertain. And why so closed minded? These contests have evolved and skits are here to stay. What's wrong with depicting the characters they portray? Many ppl find it more entertaining to see a story/action with said characters. I'm sure the majority of the 6000 views at the con will disagree with you, so that says something of what ppl like nowadays.

@Gabethepirate The difference is I have an open mind and I'm aware there are various opinions. However, the difference is if I don't like something I go about my way. I don't tell people how it "Should" be. You're telling people how a costume contest "should" be and you're missing the point that these shows evolve. And since u weren't there, when the announcer talked, pre-show, he clearly stated that the cosplayers are here to "entertain" us.

@twilightang3l @ twilight Don't worry about it.  I suppose that Gabethepirate is a "modern black belt", which indicates that they're just a poser with pockets big enough for the black belt. I guess that's why they just want to turn a couple times to win - they can't pull off what you guys did!! INCLUDING your AWESOME-ass costumes!! They're dead on!! Great job guys!!

costumes looked pretty perfect, but I kinda expect that from star wars people so I'm not really impressed. The fake electricity and mini-bolo lightsaber were the only things that suprised me here. overall - great costumes and performance.
