@soulmuzixercher One is just the Cracker USFSA video, then I also put the Wide World of SPorts commentary of it.....nice to hear Dick Button and Jim McKay lay out the competitive situation......best wishes
Although she had lost her jumps somewhat, she improved SO MUCH over the couple of years preceding this season in other aspects. I really love the "snap" in her movements.
Well, you had a humdinger of a sister!! Nice to hear from you....did you skate as well? We're you there in 1972? Can you offer any sisterly insight into what what happening then??? best wishes
I barely remember her but that shows my age.I adored Janet Lynn tho and got to see her in 1976 when she was very pregnant and judging a small ice show. What is Julie Lynn doing now?Does she still live in Ok and coach?
@HattieLovesCattie - 2 years ago was the last time I skated in the San Diego area and Julie taught my close friend for almost a decade. Then, she was still coaching and this was on 2 ice rinks in the San Diego Area. I hope this answers your question.
@soulmuzixercher What part of San Diego?I know people that live in Poway.I used to live in the Huntington Beach area and would visit the rink in Costa Mesa where John Knicks ( sp )? trained.I spoke once to Todd Sand and Jennie Meno and told them good luck at the Worlds ( I think it was Birmingtham,England that year).Ths was so many years ago.I moved east in 1994.Todd was very nice.Jennie was quiet.
@HattieLovesCattie - She teaches at the La Jolla Ice Chalet at the Westfield La Jolla ice rink. John Nick's Old skating assistant to Sasha Cohen is Matt Smith. He's a Canadian Junior Champion and is the director for the rink and he also assisted Sasha Cohen at the time she was learning her quads. John Nicks is still at Aliso Viejo teaching. =)
@soulmuzixercher Thanks for the update.I don't miss smoggy hot Calif.I left there in 1994 but I miss my old friends.I knew the old Costa Mesa rink at been torn down but can't remember when?
What a beautiful and skilled skater--who is unfortunately a off-balance jumper... I miss skating from those days because the programs were less cluttered--so I could appreciate the beauty of skating more. I wish people like Yu-Na and Mao could skate simple programs without extraneous steps and forced movements...
I know Julie. I am curious how do you have 2 different versions of the video? Thanks soo much for uploading!
