i ran vista 64 ultimate for 2 years never had any issues loved it .

duel booting with win7 and linux mint at the moment mint was easy to get the hang of pretty cool and win7 isnt any different to vista lil tweak here n there unless theres something im missing

Windows XP is definitely the best Microsoft operating system YET, if you've used Windows 7 RC/Beta you'll know that its much better looking and much more stable than any other Microsoft OS. But Mac still remains at the top.

so many people say mac is the best, but I always found that untrue

my pc would burn youtube videos I edited in 5 or 10 minutes, when I tried it on my mac it took an hour, minimum.

when i burn dvd to ipod on my macbookk pro it takes almost 2 hours, on my very old 1.1ghz pc it takes 20 minutes

every mac I ever had crashed, but I have never had windows crashes everyone talks about

and windows 98 was bad? pc's were running 98 when they ran mac into the ground

Some people just don't need new fancy and trendy stuff, some people can live with "the OS they love" for many years, and I presumambly will stick to XP for a long time. I see no reason to upgrade to Vista or Windows 7. Neither is XP unstable to me, and I never get viruses.

There's some good reasons some stick to XP this very day:

- No "fancy" effects that actually slows down the opening of a menu/window and general stuff (Fanboys: I know the differences are minimal, but they're there!)

- Better compatiblity with very old hardware, especially weird hardware interfering with Amiga (enthusiast's example)

Unstable? Unsecure? Install the updates, an Anti-Virus of choice and a new browser. Secure? Well... Secure enough!

Still getting viruses? Well, use your head.

People keep forgetting that when XP first came out, it was just as buggy and unstable as Vista was when it first came out. All operating systems have their problems when they're first released.

Bullshit, Vista is absolutely fine since SP1. People just suck with computers, and like to blame their fuckups on Vista still, and since it was buggy to begin with, people just accept it.

Never had any major problems with Windows XP. There is almost nothing that wont work with it, and almost nothing you can't do with it. Other than Windows 7, XP was/is the most stable OS Microsoft ever made. With SP3 and a few tweaks its rock solid and as secure as Windows can be...lol

thats why i never use bootcamp ! lol tbh id rather not even put xp or vista or anything on my macbook, id rather have a dedicated machine for windows ! i know i know its not as convenient as having it on mac through bootcamp or fusion or paralles, but ye...but id take parallels or fusion over bootcamp any day !

The Mac runs on EFI and emulates BIOS to run Windows and legacy OS's, maybe that's what screws up?
