A. zahir never sang that song in Iran. He visited Iran in 1974 and the song Bano Bano was released in 1978. The song bano bano was a composition of taranasaz for his daughter feroza. It has nothing do with his trip to Iran. It is another rumor people started with baseless facts. Even Abdullah Etemadi who accompained A. Zahir to iran said that he doesnt know why people have associated that song to his Iran trip.

Afghan Torontonians had been longing for such an unforgettable night for thirteen years after A. W. jan's first concert in Toronto in 1996. A. W. Jan sang from his heart and captured many hearts. In a jam-packed concert like that I am thankful for our most respectful community who allowed such an amazing night without a single fight or interruption.

Wow! I was there too. It was amazing. Unblievably a memorable night. He is really full of class and that's why even though his tickets were sold out and people were even outside the doors, no one acted silly as in other concerts. I was very disapointed that a wonderful performance like that was not recorded. I still don't know why he did not let a professional photographer record the concert. I'd have bought it with any amt of money.

It's really hard to be objective. As you listen to this song and even to A. W. jan's first song, you notice that he's always sung flawless. During the 4 decades he's sung tens of great songs composed by him or by famous compositors. For example, "Atash" (composed by A.W)like most of other songs by A. W. jan is a master-piece. In order to appreciate his songs, we need to be good audience. Even when he sings Indian songs, he sings them way better than the riginal ones with best lyrics. Tx.

I agree with Nadeema jan that Ahamd Wali jan is one great artist. He has done great since his first song. Even though he started at a very young age, he has always aced whatever song he sung. Therefore his progress chart would be at the peak at all times and if we doubt that it would be us, our inability to understand and listen to real music "with best voice & lyrics" and our taste of music that would be at fault, not Ahmad Wali jan's progress. He is he best and should be acknowleged as one.

He was exactly 25 years old at the time as per my uncle who was working at Radio-TV Afghanistan at that time. Regardless of how old he was, his performance is extraordinary. Kudos to A. Wali.
