Actually Philippines is only #1 in number of BPO seats mainly in the voice contact center industry but India has capture the more lucrative KPO and skilled outsourcing industry which is like 10X the dollar amount of the contact center business. Do not let figures fool you - Philippines is just getting the small low-paying jobs. India is still #1 in outsourcing revenues.

For example, Dubai outsources English fundraisers, American skyscraper designers, Korean building engineers to build the world tallest building, Burj Dubai. They cannot do that kinds of jobs. And they also outsource Filipino manual workers, nurses and homemaids to support themselves. Dubai people can do that kinds of jobs, but they don't simple because they are lowly paying jobs.

The biggest difference between Viets and Filipinos lies in the fact that Filipino was colonized by America, so they can speak better English than Viets which means Americans prefer Philippines to Vietnam for their cheap outsourcing destination.

People outsource workforces only (1) when you're not able to do the jobs(e.g., high tech engineering) or (2) when you dislike to do the jobs(e.g, homemaids).

In the video, the narrator's saying filipinos are doing 'even' Japanese animation jobs. It's ridiculous, you know, animation job is mostly lowly-paying and labour-intensive jobs and Japanese don't do the job. Japanese only create the animations and direct Filipinos to draw as good as they want.

A lot people in SEA were very insecure with Filipinos. Is that because Pinoys are way better english speakers than them thats why Pinoys are in demand abroad. Go to Saudi, Qatar, Dubai and you would see a lot of Pinoy Engineers, Accountants, Nurses and a lot more.
