Hey so I am doing a guy with a cape and I am wondering if there's a way for the cape to move during a game like when I hit alt a it works great but when I hit p it disappears. Great tutorials by the way.
question? where did you learn how to do all this by yourself... and for how long have you been doing it? reason i am asking is because i want to know whats the best way to get started?
i was using MAYA for more than 4 years and now i'm changing to BLENDER because is free and for rendering is the best choice . i just have like 2 weeks with blender and i almost learned everything few more days and i will start making my own tutorials :D
Just wanted to let you know, that I really enjoied ýour series (the first of your tutorials I've seen) and I'll definately watch the rest! Good pace and easy to understand explainations - even for a non-english speaking person. All thumbs up from here!
the black and white are bump maps, and they calculate shadows based on how bumped (white) the texture is - normal maps use RGB to calculate a new normal vector to calculate the shadows accordingly based on the normal map texture.
I think that's a more clear explanation, if it helps
hey , great tutorials, I'll buy your dvd ! But I was just wondering, I'm working on military uniform for a game (not in blender engine, sorry), which will have a lot of creases, do you think adding a cloth modifier would work in the game? is there a way to bake it to the individual animations?
thank you for sharing all your wisdom with us! and that even free on youtube!
is there anyway to put camera pictures onto the figure? like say if i wanted to cut out someones face from a pic and put it as the face on the figure? Would that be possible?
to make first add an empty above his head go to physics tab, next change the empty to in the physics tabs "fields" make it "wind" , apply 80% noise and change normal to 100% if executed properly makes a decent looking hair bounce effect.
remember move the wind effect when animating, with the character.
or if you cant be bothered on blender select your emitter (head) and in the physics tab select the particle system and set softbody
then make the speed pretty high and make sure its selected to "use goal" or it'll fall out then muck about with the other settings till you get a good bounce effect.
when you do this make sure you have as little parents as possible or your computer will commit suicide.
Would you be able to do a tutorial on how to implement cloth in a simple animation? I made a character with a cloth kilt, but am having trouble actually making the cloth work with his legs and everything. Just as a question, how do you set up the cloth simulation so that at frame 0 of the action the cloth is already in its simulated resting position, against the legs? That is my main problem.
hi whats up I want to ask you if you can do a tutorial about the light thunder or the laser because I dont know how to do it and I didnt fond any tut about it. you'll really help me and the other if you do that tut. and some thing else is show us how did you made the amazing sky with the alien guy at night and thank you
You're awesome! Your tutorials are the best; easy to follow and I think the way you do your models is the best. If you are really going to sell a DVD with your tutorials I'll buy one!!! Let us Know
Oh well, I'd feel pretty confident if you were on the team. But I know those guys will still do an amazing job. Your animations are very smooth and professional. Maybe you can join for the next "project tomato?" or something.
dud your the best blender guy on youtube you should totally be a partner your models are firicken sweet your renders are like million times better than mine anyway thanks for putting up these exxelent tutorials wich have helped me alot in advancing in blender!
I haven't watched your series yet, but I definitely will. Thats just super good, that you combine many things in those series! You have done very-very good job!
the normal map translates the normal tangent into a color which can be used to calculate accurate shadows, based on the normal direction
...I think

not too hard

How do you fix the arm pulling the cape?
0gnaws0 2 years ago
just have to make sure nothing intersects the cape at the beginning of the animation. his arm was through it, so the physics made it stay with it
ward7299 2 years ago
right on. Thx.
Looking forward to your DVD.

If you wanna make a object hoe won´t colise with the kloth you have to select it and then go to the:
[object](button) then to the -->
[Physicsbuttons]
and look in the first tab for collison and activate
it.... then bake ik again and it won't colise anymore

in the beginning when you're talking about normalmaps, you actually mean bumpmap right?

yes that's true, however, you have to use the "normal map" settings, as there's no "bump map" settings :P
