Your kidding self, Soccer won't over take in numbers, Australian Football, Rugby League or Cricket. Soccer has no where as many people playing compared to those sports, & never will.
@RemissionGh5Band You don't live in reality if you believe that. Australian Football smashes in partitapation compared to Soccer, by a long way. And so does Cricket & Rugby League. Soccer will never over take Australian Football.
Your living in a fantasy world if you honestly believe that.
@AFFTL Look up the statistics. Swimming is the most participated sport (fair enough), closely followed by soccer...don't believe me? look it up, simple.
@RemissionGh5Band Because someone goes down to the local pool and swims a few laps you can't really call competitive swimming. Very, very few Australians participate in actually swimming competition. And football's numbers is largely made up of young kids who upon reaching teenage years move into other sports. Compare how many 15-18 year olds guys play football to Aussie Rules, cricket or League.
Needs more Brisbane Roar last-second Grand Final win, more Tim Cahill v Japan 2006 FIFA World Cup, more footage of Australia II winning the America's Cup. :)
@RemissionGh5Band Problem is, half these sports no-one cares a wiff about. Why aren't we concentrating on the only 2 sports the entire world cares about, yachting and Football (soccer for you boguns)??? If we won the world cup of football it would completely blow every other achievement out of the water, but it's unlikely in my lifetime cause of too many boguns and haters openly wanting the Socceroos to fail.
@119glory Australia has won Rugby Union World Cups, Cricket World Cup's, a lot of Gold in the swimming of the olympics, more recently Cadel Evans won the Tour De France. All of these are highly anticipated sports..but i do believe we are improving slowly at soccer (football). More recently, we lost to Japan in The Asian Cup 1-0 and beat the Germans on their home turf. No matter how many haters there are, soccer (football) in Australia will always be the most played sport.
@RemissionGh5Band I think the love for sport, the quality of training facilities, young academies as well as the amount of investment are what matter not the population. For ex: China and India have huge population but they did not invest much in sport and the people have to more things to worry about than watching sports which make them not so successful in world sports.
That was not Steve Waugh's last match. He scored 80 odd against India at the SCG in his last match. The USA had won gold in every Olympics that included the 4x100m freestyle relay. Some Olympics only had 4x200 and 4x100 medley
That wasn't Steve Waugh's last test match. His last test match was played at the SCG when he scored 80 against India. That was day 2 of his last ashes test ever. It is still an awesome moment though not knocking the fact that it is in there.
Not enough Socceroos games, considering football is the biggest sport by an absolute billion miles I can't beleive there wasn't the games against either Japan or Croatia in there! Aloisi moment was gold though
i live in townsville and it is just about rugby league here, no other sports matters. when the fury where in townsville a rugby league buying a new shirt got more coverage than them, same as rugby union. it's pathetic.
Great video...could use some of our boxers though...Lionel Rose, Jeff Fenech, Jeff Harding, Kostya Tszyu, Johnny Famechon, Anthony Mundine, Danny Green, Daniel Geale, Vic Darchinian, Michael Katsidis, etc
@aussiepride2005 been a pretty good year! Now if we can just beat the All Blacks (or even better get revenge on those boring Poms) in the WC Final it will be complete
You wont find another country with citizens as proud as australians are.
I think it is to do with how we are such a young country, with a small population making us underdogs in almost everything we do. but in that being said we are one of the best, most successful countries at so many things including sports, our economy, and our general standard of living. I love australia and i love being australian!!
@savolrat Im a proud Aussie too, but to be honest. We only support our winners when they win. Aussies are the quickest off the mark to criticise. A lot of shit is heaped on our own Aussies if they dont come 1st.
And when you hear any succesful Aussie tell the story of what it was like BEFORE they succeeded, you'll often hear the same thing. - "It was a bit of a struggle because I was pretty much left to do it on my own"
It's great Cadel Evans got 2nd in the Tour de France in 2007! But CONGRATULATIONS to him for in 2011 he finally got the ultimate prize! The yellow jersey is Aussie colours and he proved this!!!
i've just one thing to say "AUSTRALIANS NEVER SAY DIE" and i am so proud to be Australian. Cadel Evans, Cathy Freeman and John Aloisi you are all true Australians.

@TheProd1991 New zealand, england, and we would love to beat the shit out of the italian WC06 squad cheating scum and by beat i mean physically beat the shit our of em
@krtbrd I remember Italy cheating you in that 2006 World Cup match. New Zealand are your neighbours so it's obvious why you want to beat them, but why England? They are on the other side of the globe to you so why do you have a rivalry with the English mate?
@krtbrd@krtbrd I agree with you. I'm English and we regard Australia as one of our biggest rivals in sport, along with Germany, Argentina and the neighbours Scotland. But unlike with those other 3 nations at times, i don't see England v Australia as a hate filled rivalry. It's unique really as we are 12,000 miles apart but whenever we play each other it has a "derby" feel to it, probably because of the historic links between our countrys.
@BlueTrueScouse So true... Like an old friend you haven't seen for a while but when you bump into each other it's like you've never been apart. I can trace my family history in England back to about the 14th century on one side of the family and haven't checked on the other. It feels like a family reunion when we play each other @ sport. You do anything to beat your sibling. I wanted Australia to play England so badly in the last soccer world cup. Knocking England out would have been very sweet.
@prwilkinson I agree with your post mate,it is like a family reunion whenever Australia and England face each other at sport, and as you say, you'll do anything to beat your sibling. The Australian and English rivalry is definitly unique in world sport as it proves you can be fierce rivals without it turning nasty and hate filled like some other countrys. And it was a shame we didn't play each other in the last World Cup, any England v Australia clash is massive, but that would have been humongous!
@braydenwis We still hold the Ashes so we are top dogs. And its 1-1 in this seris so we are still ahead as we don't have to win the seris to retain the urn. We also destroyed you in the world 20/20 final earlier this year.
@BlueTrueScouse You are holding the ashes because you WERE top dogs and being 1-1 doesnt mean your ahead it means you are drawing with us. Anyway we will see who comes out on top in this ashes series.
Great song, great sporting moments...I would have added a tennis player to the mix. If not Lleyton, how about Rocket Rod? (the only player ever to win 2 true grand slams...Federer hasn't even won one)
I did like the video but I find it funny that in a country that has produced so many sporting champions in so many sports that the QUALIFYING for the finals of an event made the list. Also, in the cricket I think the emphasis should have been on team victories, not individual feats - maybe winning the World Cup in 1999?
@EweTubee Whose got the Ashes? Who thrashed you in the 20/20 World Cup Final? Who beat you in the recent 1 day seris? Thats right, England. You even failed to beat Pakistan drawing 1-1 just the other week wereas we've just battered them twice. We will retain the Ashes too.
@BlueTrueScouse you seem to be focusing on just one sport.... we destroy you in nearly everything else, maybe you should spend more time training and less time drinking tea.
@EweTubee Who beat you in the 2003 Rugby Union World Cup Final. And also knocked you out the 1995 and 2007 World Cups? Thats right, the Poms. Why do the English champions virtually always beat the Aussie champions in the Rugby League World Club Challenge? Thats 2 more sports we beat you at.
@BlueTrueScouse 2003? 1995? wow hate to be living in the past, you seem to be forgetting about a plethora of other sporting events in between champ, and i watched those rugby finals, typical english playing dirty, shooting field goals, lol losers can't even win without playing dirty. Go figure.
@BlueTrueScouse the ashes? England have won 2 of the last 9 Ashes series. Congrats. Quite apart from the fact that in those two victories, the 'English' team included Pietersen, Strauss, Prior & Trott (all S. African), Geraint Jones (PNG/Aust), now Eoin Morgan (Irish). The Ashes are now Aust v the Commonwealth. As for RL Club Challenge, other than the fact its currently held by Melb Storm, going from 40C to play in snow might have some effect. About time Eng clubs made the trip to Aust.
@BlueTrueScouse when's the last time an englishman did ANYTHING in tennis? and australia will win a football world cup before england. fact. that will be a bitter pill to swallow, no?
@ballrags Hardly anyone in England gives a monkeys about Tennis except the fortnight at Wimbledon. And as for the Football World Cup,England have already won it in the past so how can Australia win one before us? You've only got one class player and thats Tim Cahill the rest are mediocre at best.
England will retain the Ashes later on this year,it could even be 5-0 to the Poms.
@BlueTrueScouse allow me to tidy up my comment - we will win one before england does 'again'. i hadn't forgotten they had won 1, but considering it was 44 years ago, it is pretty forgettable. especially since the country that invented the sport has only won the highest prize once. and i'm sure the english USED to care about tennis, you know, when they were good. another sport they invented...
as for the ashes... 5-0? yeah, it could be. with the same probability i could live to be 600 years old.
@ballrags We're better than you at Football,Cricket,Rugby League,Rugby Union. Its always great for us English to beat the Old Enemy from down under at anything. Expect more of the same in the upcoming Ashes seris.
Also you mention all the sports the English invented, theres not many you Aussies have invented is there.
@BlueTrueScouse TrueScouse or TrulyDillusional? you're not better at rugby or league. it's a non-factor with football - we both haven't achieved anything in recent times. you couldn't even qualify for the euro cup! you won 20/20 world cup, we won 1day world cup. you didn't win the ashes for how long? it's good its interesting again, but this summer will put you in your place. we dont need to invent sports when we dominate you in the games you invent. nice try in the commonwealth games too, chap.
@ballrags Your the deluded one.Lets look at facts: FOOTBALL, Englands world ranking:currently 6th, Australia 21st. CRICKET: We hold the Ashes, beat you in the world 20/20 final and in the 1-day seris and are above in the test rankings. RUGBY LEAGUE: The English club nearly always win the world club challenge. RUGBY UNION: Knocked Australia out of the World Cup in 1995 and 2007 and beat you in the final in 2003 in your own backyard.
Face facts, your the underdogs to your old rivals from England.
@BlueTrueScouse no point arguing with a moron. i'll just come back here and put you in your place when we flog the poms in the ashes. that beloved trophy you're so proud your country holds, despite being non-competitive for half a century. it's good you've finally learnt to play cricket, albeit with south africans doing all the work for 'england', but no point getting cocky over an unconvincing series win.
They need Michael Clarke's Triple Century.

The Aussies are finished in the world of cricket. 5th in the test rankings and slipping further. England are now top dogs in Ashes contests.
I don't rate this current Australian team, they'd struggle to beat Bangladesh.
BlueTrueScouse 1 year ago
@BlueTrueScouse Hahaha we just beat england by over 200 runs. England are now top dogs? what a joke.
braydenwis 1 year ago
@braydenwis We still hold the Ashes so we are top dogs. And its 1-1 in this seris so we are still ahead as we don't have to win the seris to retain the urn. We also destroyed you in the world 20/20 final earlier this year.
BlueTrueScouse 1 year ago
@BlueTrueScouse You are holding the ashes because you WERE top dogs and being 1-1 doesnt mean your ahead it means you are drawing with us. Anyway we will see who comes out on top in this ashes series.
braydenwis 1 year ago
@braydenwis 1-1 does make us ahead as the holder retains the Ashes if it's drawn seris. We don't have to win another test, you do.
BlueTrueScouse 1 year ago
@BlueTrueScouse The point i am trying to make is that if you win the urn by drawing with us it doesnt mean your any better.

If you had this vid in HD with a bit more of the commentary, this would literally be the best video ever.

Mate, 4.46 for Australian sporting highlights? You'd need 4 years, 46 days to do it justice. Per head of population, simply the best.

I give you credit for the music but is Bond an Australian Artist? Because if isn't; then defeats the purpose of the music to the video in a way

You won't be adding to this video when England retain the Ashes down under later in the year. Us Poms could even beat you 5-0.
I don't rate the current Aussie team. There easy meat for us English.
BlueTrueScouse 1 year ago
@BlueTrueScouse oh pipe down, for a nation of 50 million you sure are pathetic at sports.
EweTubee 1 year ago
@EweTubee Whose got the Ashes? Who thrashed you in the 20/20 World Cup Final? Who beat you in the recent 1 day seris? Thats right, England. You even failed to beat Pakistan drawing 1-1 just the other week wereas we've just battered them twice. We will retain the Ashes too.
BlueTrueScouse 1 year ago
@BlueTrueScouse you seem to be focusing on just one sport.... we destroy you in nearly everything else, maybe you should spend more time training and less time drinking tea.
EweTubee 1 year ago

Go figure.
EweTubee 1 year ago
@BlueTrueScouse the ashes? England have won 2 of the last 9 Ashes series. Congrats. Quite apart from the fact that in those two victories, the 'English' team included Pietersen, Strauss, Prior & Trott (all S. African), Geraint Jones (PNG/Aust), now Eoin Morgan (Irish). The Ashes are now Aust v the Commonwealth. As for RL Club Challenge, other than the fact its currently held by Melb Storm, going from 40C to play in snow might have some effect. About time Eng clubs made the trip to Aust.

@BlueTrueScouse when's the last time an englishman did ANYTHING in tennis? and australia will win a football world cup before england. fact. that will be a bitter pill to swallow, no?
ballrags 1 year ago
@ballrags Hardly anyone in England gives a monkeys about Tennis except the fortnight at Wimbledon. And as for the Football World Cup,England have already won it in the past so how can Australia win one before us? You've only got one class player and thats Tim Cahill the rest are mediocre at best.
England will retain the Ashes later on this year,it could even be 5-0 to the Poms.
BlueTrueScouse 1 year ago
@BlueTrueScouse allow me to tidy up my comment - we will win one before england does 'again'. i hadn't forgotten they had won 1, but considering it was 44 years ago, it is pretty forgettable. especially since the country that invented the sport has only won the highest prize once. and i'm sure the english USED to care about tennis, you know, when they were good. another sport they invented...
as for the ashes... 5-0? yeah, it could be. with the same probability i could live to be 600 years old.
ballrags 1 year ago
@ballrags We're better than you at Football,Cricket,Rugby League,Rugby Union. Its always great for us English to beat the Old Enemy from down under at anything. Expect more of the same in the upcoming Ashes seris.
Also you mention all the sports the English invented, theres not many you Aussies have invented is there.
BlueTrueScouse 1 year ago
@BlueTrueScouse TrueScouse or TrulyDillusional? you're not better at rugby or league. it's a non-factor with football - we both haven't achieved anything in recent times. you couldn't even qualify for the euro cup! you won 20/20 world cup, we won 1day world cup. you didn't win the ashes for how long? it's good its interesting again, but this summer will put you in your place. we dont need to invent sports when we dominate you in the games you invent. nice try in the commonwealth games too, chap.
ballrags 1 year ago
@ballrags Your the deluded one.Lets look at facts: FOOTBALL, Englands world ranking:currently 6th, Australia 21st. CRICKET: We hold the Ashes, beat you in the world 20/20 final and in the 1-day seris and are above in the test rankings. RUGBY LEAGUE: The English club nearly always win the world club challenge. RUGBY UNION: Knocked Australia out of the World Cup in 1995 and 2007 and beat you in the final in 2003 in your own backyard.
Face facts, your the underdogs to your old rivals from England.
BlueTrueScouse 1 year ago
@BlueTrueScouse no point arguing with a moron. i'll just come back here and put you in your place when we flog the poms in the ashes. that beloved trophy you're so proud your country holds, despite being non-competitive for half a century. it's good you've finally learnt to play cricket, albeit with south africans doing all the work for 'england', but no point getting cocky over an unconvincing series win.
