  • yes it's a barbershop quartet. No the hand gestures aren't planned. No it is not barbershop harmony. Yes it IS acapella (no instruments) the hand gestures are just something that happens.....young95 you are right.. chrisisbass13 you are also right... drop it....

  • The key is different from the original arrangement. This one is in Eb and the Original is in F.

  • those suits look a little big lol, but nice job! love the harmonies! i'm singin this for a performance for my choir in a few weeks :D but with the piano...

  • Yeah the suits were seriously wierd, but the guy in the center should learn that when he is part of a group, the hand gestures he was doing are an inappropriate means of calling attention to himself.

  • @young95 thats because he is the lead in the quartet, the other parts are following him....you should learn the art of barbershop singing :)

  • @carjam2005cc, first of all this is not "barber shop". It is acapella all male quartet. Second, I was doing mixed and all male quartets, choral, and barber shop when you were still in diapers, so don't lecture me on what is typically done, or not done when you perform. These gestures were not ones where the lead was "leading" the group......they were ones where he drew attention to himself, and are inappropriate in this style of performance.

  • @young95 From what I can see, it looks as if it's a Barbershop Quartet.

Tenor on the right. Bass next to the Lead. Barbershop alignment.

Lead singer is leading. Not trying to attract attention. Leads normally do more movements compared to other members of the Quartet. Watch any Barbershop Quartet and you'll see the Lead moving more than the others. It's not what should happen but it happens often.

Just checked the other Videos. carjam2005cc is correct. Its a Barbershop Quartet!

  • @young95 what the fuck are you talking about? it is a barbershop quartet. its the same arrangement vocal spectrum did!

  • @ChrisisBass13......you say toMAYto, I say toMAHto. BFD! Musically these guys are not bad, but I do not care for this group because I find the hand gestures used by the lead to be a distraction from the overall performance. I say that because they come across to me as calling attention to himself. And, as you, and the other self-proclaimed "experts" on Barbershop SHOULD know, if choreography (including gestures) is used in a performance, it is the believeablity of the performance that counts

  • @young95 dude... Im 15, what the fuck do I know about barbershop? dont predict Im one of those snotty "experts" as you call them. Im just telling you that this is most likely a barbershop quartet. I dont care about the hand motions I just recognized the arrangement

  • @carjam2005cc i think you have some learning to do.

  • amazing, well done.

  • Great Job - I love your harmonies!

  • Nicely done. Terrible suits, but nicely done.

  • Very beautiful. Would you guys have sheet music for this? My quartet really wants to sing it, and I have plenty of music to trade with.

  • didn't you make a great transcription of it?

  • I did later that day once I realized no one would give me the music haha.

  • hahaha there... aren't you proud you did it yourself ;) I mean... I pitty the fool who don't wanna trade sheet music :) they're about to meet my friend called PAIN!!! :D

  • Very lovely. Thank you!

  • Very nice. Thanks for sharing. He rules.

  • That was an awesome rendition of one of my favorite hymns. EXCELLENT harmonies!!

  • the harmonies IMHO, would really hit the ear of the listener if the pickup for this video was directly from the microphones. We are getting it from the melding of all echoes from the auditorium. it's kinda like when you make soup and it sits for days, it's hard to pick out individual flavors and they all kinda leak into eachother. It was nice, though:)

  • it is pretty freshh

  • very nice harmony. can you do more christian music? thanks for sharing.

  • very nice harmony. can you do more christian music? thanks for sharing.

  • I don't know why no one commented on this...

    Its beautiful *wipes tear* Congratulations.
