Nice story...

However, how is it a true story? Where can I find it? I searched the shuyookh of Imaam Maalik, none by the name Abdur-Rahmaan ibn Faarooq!?! Help. I would like to find it - if it's in fact true. Jazaakumullaahu khairan.

Ok...so after searching for a while...there is NO scholar by that name. The real name of the scholar is Rabee'ah ibn Abee Abd al-Rahmaan (Farookh) ربيعة بن أبي عبد الرحمن فروخ

So...the father is known as Aboo Abd Al-Rahmaan, and his name is Farrookh (not Faarooq)...and his son is not Abd al-Rahmaan...he's Rabee'ah. The scholar ath-Thahabee says in Siyar A'laam an-Nubalaa' that this story is not true. Wallaahu Alam. (He does mention the story in his book, minus all the "spices" of course).

Umm.. forgive me for asking... but I don't understand how it is true love, when a man could leave his wife for 30 years and not think even think about her, nor about his responsibilities towards her???

@SincereMuslimah because the wife obeyed the husband for 30 years, the wife encouraged him to do the ultimate good which is Jihad.

Or the love could be based upon Allah in which case the proper upbringing of the son comes into place and the making the husband do jihad which he does for 30 years...

3. This story says true love story, not only for each other but love for Allah and Islam and plus he did left all that money with which she looked after the child. He didnt left her with nothing. and He left for a cause which showed his love to The Allah
