Why even make this comparison? Sim racing games are about getting around the track as fast as possible, and not to crash into other drivers like a dumb fuck. The difference between GT5 and Forza 3 sim wise, is so freaking small that you don't even notice it.
GT5 is not released yet. You cannot compare a unfinished game to something that is already done. Second GT5 at its current stage is different from Forza 3.
Even when GT5 prologue was released it has a more realistic feedback on driving compared to Forza 3. Forza 3 just adds more visual effects to the car.
If you are the type looking for a comparable sim I advised you try F1 2010. That is one of the best driving games out there, beats forza 3 in visual and physical feedback.

The only thing that Gran Turismo is lacking is damage and the only reason that they have not put damage on the game yet is because they always make everything perfect (which is a credit to them) and if they were to make damage, they would not settle for anything other than perfect and if you were to crash into a wall at 30mph you would wreck the car off let alone 220mph.

Yeah in gt prolouge I was going through corners too fast...I really wasnt even hitting the brakes...but who knows they have all these settings. Anyhow, I think gt5 will be a contender....we will see prolouge is a joke hands down. But gt has given me years of fun and ive got both systems....right now though forza is the killer.

Even still, Forza2, which is the better comparison to GT5 Prologue still knocks the socks off GT5 so they have alot of work to do if they wanna make it anywhere near playable. The amount of time they've spent on it, it should be alot better than Prologue anyway.

GT : 1:02 same scenario going fast rams into the car and pushes it out of the racetrack.

See the painting and auction houses are a game in its self but it isnt what makes forza better than gt. Quite honestly, Is it just me - or after reading 100's of Forza vs GT posts - does it comes across that the majority of GT players are in their teens / pre-teens? Where as the Forza crowd seem to be a bit older? And can spell?
I think its completely the opposite. Forza is more of an arcade racer then anythings else. Its Some "Sim" mixed with Arcade racing. GranTursimo has always been about the "Driving Experience".
This is easily demonstrated in the forza "Rice out my car" customization center. Forza is just a teenager's dream. Its easier to play and gives a false sense of "i'm a good driver."
I would say both sides have a lot of teens who don't know much, possibly more on the Forza side as they appreciate "custom paint" more.
Things to consider, GT has been around since 1997 and many of it's fans have grown up a lot. Figure most of the teens that grew up with GT are now in their late 20's, along with the 30+ crowd who were in their early 20's when GT came out. It's fan base has a broader age group.
Forza is so more realistic......you touch a car and it puts you out of control...........in gran turismo you can smach through car's and not loose control...............Gran Turismo still has an arcady drive
Also, Forza's rendition of Suzuka is beyond awful, same goes for The Nurburgring. You think they would take the time to do the tracks properly rather than disgrace them.

There will always be a bit of bias from any side, but the points I made were valid and unbiased.
The 1:32 part is pointless to mention as it has nothing to do with the physics/sim aspect that this video is concentrating on. It is simply a glitch in the game, which doesn't happen very often, and also happens in Forza or any other game for that matter.
I have my criticisms of GT, the sounds/damage are not as good as Forza, but that could be addressed in the full game.
My criticism is not so much to do with Forza the game, as it has to do with the poorly staged analysis that the poster did with his video. This video is very deceiving, because the poster made it that way. I am simply pointing out the deception.
Liquid, your synopsis of the video fails to prove anything. Sure you noticed a couple of things like the beginning with two different clips, but the result was the same. Both the clio and mustang went off the road and the driver was able to use them as brakes, so your observation is doesn't support anything. Secondly, your explanation of why the BMW stayed on the track after slamming into another car makes so sense, it eludes the point. The point is in GT he was able to BOUNCE off of the NSX
Actually my synopsis was dead on. If you compare the videos properly you will see that in the first clip of GT the car is rear ended while entering the corner in a straight line (yet to turn in) and naturally would not be spun out, instead in real life it would go straight off like in the video. With the Forza clip he is hit while mid turn which would cause a spin. Two completely different scenarios which he portrayed as the same.

FM: You mean to tell me that going that fast and you crash to a car you just slightly push them? Check the comparison 0:44 is going pretty fast and hardly moves the car.
GT : 1:02 same scenario going fast rams into the car and pushes it out of the racetrack.
FM: 1:08 is a closer comparion to the one in 1:02 and nothing.
So how can you brag about crashing?

Both are great games. I'l never buy Forza for one reason......IT"S ON THE XBOX!! PS3 is a much better system. I gave up on my 360 a long time ago! Pieces of crap! PS3 is more powerfull and it won't break down every few months. That's just one of many reasons PS3 is the bomb!

Unrealistic in gt5p when knocking out of other cars. Different than forza you can see a scratch and dented when you colliding with other cars

Agreed. A lot of fanboys have drawn me away from games. RROD does suck but if you buy an elite console, they have replaced cooling. I'm on my 6th xbox now and this is hopefully my last.

See the painting and auction houses are a game in its self but it isnt what makes forza better than gt. Its purely the experince of driving, the physics, the handling of the each car is sOOOOOOOO much different, when you play GT (as i own a PS too) it just feels cheap and plastic compared to forza. People can say fanboy to 360/ps3, but if u wanna settle the argument NO console racer will compare to Rfactor....... the fact here folks we are on console and AT the moment forza beatin GT how long?

i really think GT/PS3 fanboys are getting really lame... when the ps3 came out I wanted one so bad but it was 600 dollars , so I got an xbox 360... and now that ive played both consoles (and both games) its completely ridiculous the ps3 fagboys!!! they are SUCH FLAMERSSSS ive never seen an xbox 360 fanboy make so many fake claims and crap claims like ps3 fanboys do.. its completely ridiculous!! please just save up your nickels and dimes and buy both consoles, they are both great!

Quite honestly, Is it just me - or after reading 100's of Forza vs GT posts - does it comes across that the majority of GT players are in their teens / pre-teens? Where as the Forza crowd seem to be a bit older? And can spell?

I think its completely the opposite. Forza is more of an arcade racer then anythings else. Its Some "Sim" mixed with Arcade racing. GranTursimo has always been about the "Driving Experience".
This is easily demonstrated in the forza "Rice out my car" customization center. Forza is just a teenager's dream. Its easier to play and gives a false sense of "i'm a good driver."

I would say both sides have a lot of teens who don't know much, possibly more on the Forza side as they appreciate "custom paint" more.
Things to consider, GT has been around since 1997 and many of it's fans have grown up a lot. Figure most of the teens that grew up with GT are now in their late 20's, along with the 30+ crowd who were in their early 20's when GT came out. It's fan base has a broader age group.

There will always be a bit of bias from any side, but the points I made were valid and unbiased.
The 1:32 part is pointless to mention as it has nothing to do with the physics/sim aspect that this video is concentrating on. It is simply a glitch in the game, which doesn't happen very often, and also happens in Forza or any other game for that matter.
I have my criticisms of GT, the sounds/damage are not as good as Forza, but that could be addressed in the full game.

Liquid, your synopsis of the video fails to prove anything. Sure you noticed a couple of things like the beginning with two different clips, but the result was the same. Both the clio and mustang went off the road and the driver was able to use them as brakes, so your observation is doesn't support anything. Secondly, your explanation of why the BMW stayed on the track after slamming into another car makes so sense, it eludes the point. The point is in GT he was able to BOUNCE off of the NSX

Actually my synopsis was dead on. If you compare the videos properly you will see that in the first clip of GT the car is rear ended while entering the corner in a straight line (yet to turn in) and naturally would not be spun out, instead in real life it would go straight off like in the video. With the Forza clip he is hit while mid turn which would cause a spin. Two completely different scenarios which he portrayed as the same.
