It is a knife for a paper machine that makes notebooks. Paper comes off a roll, through the ruling tower and stacks into a slab of different thickness. Then, it gets cut into size and receives a cover and back. Next, the slabs move to this knife which comes down in a shearing motion and cuts and trims the books to width then onto side trim knives that cut the length. Finally, the books get wired together and sent to various vendors. Just so you know.
