  • God this show was beyond awful.

  • Hyperdrive was nothing like Red Dwarf and fans of that show who tuned in expecting to be similar spolit the shows reputation by bad mouthing it before it had time to build up its own fanbase. Its more like Star Trek meets the Office and its all the better for that IMO. Superb production funny storylines superb writing acting. Every episode.s a winner. Please bring it back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Has anyone seen the American version of Red Dwarf? Embarrassing at the least!!

    Fucking pathetic at most...

  • its not red dwarf, but it will do.

    lol i love patriotic mode.

  • needs SLIGHTLY better writing but ok

  • If anything, this series isn't a copy of Red Dwarf, it's more a parody of Star Trek-style science fiction, of the type preferred by a lot of Americans. I thought the series had some good moments, and who doesn't love Nick Frost, but Red Dwarf it is not. Still, it's a pity that it wasn't continued at least one more season: it was just hitting its stride in Series 2, and I thought they had some of their best stuff in there. Pity. I'd like to see Nick keep on working...he's gotta eat, y'know.

  • Many friends say its a Red Dwarf kind of series yet I agree with you. Nothing like Red Dwarf.

  • Not perfect, but a lot better than most of the rubbish that passes for comedy in our benighted age. Plus I really have a thing for Miranda Hart....

  • That wasn't even close to sounding like a Danish accent! But still woohoo for Denmark being mentioned!

  • red dwarf was good, but this isn't supposed to be copy. to be honest this has been one of the best comedies on recently

  • It's not supposed to be a copy; yet is has similar character types and a very similar setting. I think this series is pretty poor...

It's worth the occasional chuckle and thats about it.

  • How are the characters similar? The only way the settings are similar is that they are both set in space. Thats like saying Star Wars is similar to Galaxy Quest.

  • Maybe learn to spell 'bastard' and then tell me what to do eh?

Maybe people can actually value your opinions if you put them accross in a non-hostile manner

  • I do like the program, I hope the Beeb, keep it going so that they can develop it. Most comedies get better as the characters develop...

anyone think the captain is a bit 'David Brent' esq?

  • I caught an episode here on BBC America and that was my first thought David Brent on the Enterprise, which is brilliant.

  • i wish i could watch this.. i live in texas. i dont even know what the bbc is.

  • bbc stands for the British Broadcasting Corporation (I think i've spelled it right!)

  • Yeah instead of having ABC, NBC, CBS those kinds of stations, They have BBC1, BBC2, BBC3,BBC4 Different channels for different types of programming.

  • ... mastered baked beans yet ...?

  • the best thing on telly brill

  • Witty and amusing. All the better for NOT having canned laughter!

  • Whats this programme called?

  • its not the funniest thing but give it time jesus..and stop comparing it with red fucing dwarf!

  • Okay, well speaking as someone who was in Red Dwarf, not that it gives me any kind of authority, I think this is a great show, and yes, it needs time to grow, but I've watched it and it's made me laugh. I rate the whole cast. Go with it.

  • Yes, I agree - I think RD was fantastic but it had its run, everything has to end sometime. I like to think of Hyperdrive as the next step on.

  • People who keep banging on about how it's not as good as Red Dwarf, seem to forget that Red Dwarf was almost cancelled after the first series, and almost didn't make it to air in the first place. Why are people obsessed with comparing like-with-like. Just enjoy it for what it is . . . or not of course.

  • Nick Frost is a natural comedic genius! The writing could be completely inane, but his delivery makes it perfect. When will we get this on BBC America? I'm still waiting for Spaced...

  • the humour seems a bit "entry-level"

Black Adder Goes Forth (1989) contained a far better working of the same gag they reused at the end of this clip.

it'd have to get much better than this to warrant watching, as much as I'm a fan of other stuff that Nick Frost's appeared in.

  • Loved this show since it stared last year! Absolute classic and when is York gunna get with Sanstrum?! It's obvious he fancies the arse off her!

  • It needs a better script to save it and maybe a few more Nick Frost 'moments' which is where he's at his best (Hot Fuzz, Shaun and hell, even 50,000 volts).

  • just give this show time. it will be a classic.

  • looks cack, thx

  • tryin 2 be lyk red dwarf! bu has some funny stuff init! =D!

  • I think it's different than Red Dwarf,it seems like Red Dwarf if you haven't watched any episodes but the characters and story are completely different.

  • A pretty average show, but it does have some very funny moments.

  • Something is missing from this show. It's just lacking calcium.

Still Game pumps this outright. As much as Nick Frost is fucking quality, he's just being dragged down by this piss poor red dwarf rip off. Fuck this show.

  • A pretty average show, but it does have some very funny moments.

  • A pretty average show, but it does have some very funny moments.

  • Love Nick Frost. Sooo Funny.

  • Nick Frost is amazing!

  • People like Hyperdrive because WE KNOW SOMETHING YOU DON'T...

  • People who don't like it probably know something you don't aswell, and that's Spaced, Darkstar, even Red Dwarf- stuff which influneced this or is funneir

  • What a waste of such talented people :(

  • Yup!

  • best programme ever its sooooo funny

  • LOLOLOLOLOL!

    I love this. :)

  • that woman is out of CBBC program stupid, and the commander is ed out of shaun of the dead (also danny in hot fuzz)

  • this is the best comedy after 9 o clock i think

  • This show is great

  • well i think its pretty good, not as good as red dwarf, but nick frost is hilarious.

  • i don't watch this show, but who are the actors that play the woman and the first character to speak in this clip. i think ihave seen them in something else.

  • I think it is better than red dwarf.

  • I really like Nick Frost and the actors in this, but I havent been able to watch a single ep of this from end to end. The writing and characters are awful. This series was crap!

  • Big budget. I tried to like this series, I really did , but it just isn't funny.

  • the story line, script and actors have a long way to go to make the red dwarf standard. Please BBC give us more quality scifi comedy! Scifi comedy is the best when done well..

  • p.s. whats with the David Brent in space thing??

seriously is he trying to act like david brent?

  • No the majority of Nick Frost's characters are like this, making their sort of mistakes and faux pas out a childlike innocence or stupidty, while Brent/Gervais comes more from a strong James Bond or Fonzie style self belief.

  • no this series just isnt funny, i like all the comedians in it, but, this program sucks some serious monkey nads... it really does.

  • I love Red Dwarf, and Black Books (some episodes were written by the Hyperdrive writers, and Henderson and York guested on it), but I really don't think Hyperdrive is very funny. It occasionally has some moments that come close to being funny, but these are mostly the same kind of "pathetically amusing" laughs you get from classic Star Trek.

  • I wanted to like this series, I tried to like it, but.......... It's just not very funny.

  • think its cos u dont have a sense of humor and you probably don't understand the jokes. try something more simple and easy for the lightheaded.

  • It's not very funny and a bit tedious really. There's nothing not to get about this show. Let's face it, it's not Spaced!

  • thats your opinion, i reckon its quite funny, i guess u dont get it

  • Lol, you're basically just saying: Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. But yours is rubbish because you're an idiot.

    Nice.

  • your face

  • You say 'it's quite funny,' I say 'not very funny' -so it seems there's not much difference in our opinion anyway (don't assume that people who you slightly dissagree with, are some how stupid)- my comment may be more negative as I'm dissaponited, because (in my opinion) with the talent on display- this show should be 'very funny.'

  • and your face :P

  • ha Nick Frost rules

  • Oursoul have viewed this particular video and found that they thoroughly enjoyed it.

  • Bleh...

  • best scifi comedy since red dwarf. Probably the only one too!

  • lol, its almost too pathetic to snigger at. But not quite. hehehe.

    loving the new series!

  • i love it

  • That was Pegg on the intercom. cool ;)

  • This is a good programme.

  • LOL! That was brilliant! Gotta go watch the rest of the clips now. Cheers! TEKNO
